This is our second time staying at Pete's property. We spent a lot of time fishing, crabbing, and watching boats go by. Cages were already baited when we arrived, and we got 4-6 crabs per day during our stay. House had ample supplies of everything we needed to cook family meals throughout the week. Plenty of grocery stores and eateries within a 10 min drive. House was very clean and perfect as a quiet and relaxing place to spend some time with family. Great communication from host - made check in and check out very easy.

Wonderful stay in a well appointed home. Osprey watching on the deck while sipping coffee with no bugs was the best. We greatly enjoyed our stay.

We had a wonderful stay and loved the location. A highlight was catching 2 crabs the last day and eating them for breakfast. Thanks for providing everything that we needed!

Beautiful home and property! The house was wonderful, clean, and comfortable. My wife, 9-year- old son, and I had a relaxing and enjoyable stay. We had some luck fishing as well, mostly Spot, but my son caught a Flounder on his first cast, riding the bottom. Highly recommend to families looking to relax and enjoy the river/bay. Thanks, Pete!

My family and I were so impressed by this perfect home on the water. By far the best VRBO experience we have encountered. We were so impressed by all this house had to offer during our stay. Easy 10 out of 10 stars. Thank you Pete!

I stayed at this property over Memorial Day weekend, and it was just perfect! The views are amazing and there are many different things to do in the area. We went kayaking and jet skiing just to name a few. Pete set up the crab traps for us, but we did not partake as it is still a bit off season and we only caught 5 crabs. The home has everything needed for cooking and enjoying the views. We had our small yorkie with us and he enjoyed the smells and running in the grass. Thank-you so much to Pete for sharing his wonderful home with us!!

Our family had a awesome time staying here. Having the convenience of many stores close by was also nice. Pete was great with his communication and information that was left in the house. We even got to see a ground hog climbing up the tree outside. That was definitely a first for us. We enjoyed our stay!

Communication with the owner was a breeze. Check in and check out process was as easy as it gets. Upon arrival we were greeted with a nice bottle of wine with a story behind it and the kids absolutely loved the bowl of chocolate. The house had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. While we opted to only cook breakfast, the house has everything you need to be able to prepare all three meals if needed. We have a 9 and 11 year old and brought a friend on this trip. Having the spare bedding in the twin bedroom was huge as all three kids were able to stay in the same area. My wife and I opted for the loft bedroom which has a nice sitting area overlooking the entire house. My mom enjoyed here stay in the main level guest bedroom. Such a beautiful property to have stayed at. We were also lucky enough to watch the planes from across the river and the tiki bar opening night you could on occasion hear the live music but it wasn’t too loud to be annoying.

We stayed with four adults and two kids and the house worked well for the group. The kitchen really is stocked with pretty much any and all equipment you can imagine as well as a great collection of herbs and spices. We had no problem cooking up a great Easter meal. There's plenty to watch on the water going by.

The property/home was gorgeous just as advertised. The home is right on the water with great views from the deck and the wall of windows on the front of the house. Inside the home is nicely decorated in a nautical theme and is well appointed with everything needed to feel at home. The owner was great providing detailed/easy to follow instructions as well as recommendations to area activities and restaurants. He also baited two crab pots so we could enjoy crabbing. The house is in a quiet neighborhood so it made it easy to relax and watch the sailboats and wildlife (bald eagles, blue heron, etc.). The sunrises and sunsets from the property were spectacular. The home is also a short drive from Solomons Island and the area state parks (hiking and shark tooth hunting). We really enjoyed the house and will definitely stay here again when we visit this area in the future.

The house and the location are great, but it’s Pete’s attention to detail that makes this property truly special. The house is equipped with everything you need to enjoy quiet, relaxing vacation: linens, toiletries, cookware, laundry detergent, cleaning supplies, fishing gear, bikes, and big beautiful Maryland blue crabs.

This was our second time staying at this house on the Patuxent River, it's a very well stocked and clean home.
Pete is a great owner, and I would recommend this place again and again. Only thing that may be difficult for some are the steps going into the house.
Pete, Thanks again for a Great stay.

This home is just as described and more. We enjoyed everything about our stay from the sparkling waterfront views to the comfortable, charming home with all necessities provided. The host goes above and beyond to ensure that you have a great time, from wine and chocolates when you arrive to crab traps already baited , and all supplies for steaming your catch! Pete is definitely a VRBO Premier host, he has paid attention to every detail to make his home feel like yours ! We all look forward to a return visit!

We really enjoyed our stay at this charming A-frame three bedroom house right at the Patuxtent and with a great view of Solomon Island Harbor. The house was greatly equipped and we enjoyed lovely sunsets while cooking dinner. Pete was a super gracious host, greeting us with red wine and chocolates. While not for us, the spot was also great for crabbing. While there, we "caught" 15 Maryland blue crabs, which we released, but could have also ended up as our dinner ;-) Definitely a place to keep in mind for future weekend retreats.

We enjoyed our relaxing stay - we did not go out except one night - so we were cooking in a lot. Read books, feasted on wonderful crabs that we caught and watched the beautiful boats and F-16s.
We thought the linens were really nice and the beds comfortable - which may seem like an odd thing to comment on but we care about that - and the cooking equipment, spices and supplies were one of the best of any rental we have stayed in.

Had a great stay. Property is just as described in listing, and all the essentials are provided. Very clean and decor is perfect. Owner responded quickly to all questions and communications, and provided a few extras to make our stay even more special. We caught (and released) several fish our last day there, and enjoyed watching the boats come and go while we were sitting there. Cool surprise the first day seeing (and hearing) the jets fly overhead towards the Patuxent NAS.

Our 9-year old grandson wanted to see the Giant Pandas before they leave the US. He also wanted to see the ocean. Visited Smithsonian Zoo on the 1st day. Second day ... Ocean City, which is a little far, but worth the drive for experiencing the ocean for the 1st time. We also took in the national monuments in the DC area. One day we visited Calvert Marine Museum/Drum Point Lighthouse and Patuxent River Naval Air museum. Wished we could have stayed longer to explore & experience more of the local area.
Pete is an excellent host! The crab pots were baited when we arrived and we actually caught enough for a meal which was a memorable event for these midwestern folks. Pete is very responsive to any questions. The only issue we had while staying there was that a squirrel got tangled up in a power line so we lost power. Pete checked in later in the day to ensure the power was on and A/C functioning properly since we were going to be gone that day.
Beds were very comfortable and the pantry was well-stocked with various cooking supplies which was an extra bonus.

Our family, with two elementary age kids, had a great week and half stay here. Nice views, nice place and room outside to run off some energy. We even saw a pod of dolphins one morning just offshore heading back to the Chesapeake!
There’s some good places for kids nearby (Annmarie Sculpture Garden, Calvert Marine Museum, Calvert Cliffs State Park - though it goes without saying beware of jellyfish).
Back to the property - quite clean and very well stocked. Pete definitely knows how to run things.

Excellent location, very responsive and helpful host allowed for an excellent family Christmas getaway. It was exactly what we were looking for in a Christmas vacation house! The host went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed… Even provided a nice welcome letter and a bottle of wine with chocolates. Would highly recommend this property and will definitely stay again when in the area.

I came to have a break. The property was wonderful. I had quite a bit of paperwork and cooking to do.
The Wi-Fi was great. What could be better than sitting at the dinner room table with the view of the water and the Navy jets flying overhead? Oh! Sitting on the deck and being able to listen to the music the fishermen were listening to as they worked.
The kitchen was beautifully stocked so I was able to complete all of my tasks there. The coffee options were amazing.
Thank you so much for having me. It was wonderful.

We loved the house location and ambiance the first time so knew we would rent again. House is as advertised in pictures and write-up.
House is located at end of short dirt road, and across the lawn from the waterfront. Perfect place to relax the day away and also we’ll located to do plenty of regional exploration. D.C. is about 1.5 hour drive.

The view from this property is amazing, you can watch the boats and birds through the large windows or from the deck. Pete has everything very well thought out with detailed instructions and he is extremely responsive if you need anything. The beds were all super comfortable, even in the kids rooms! The kitchen is well equipped with everything you would need. I can’t wait to return!

House is very clean and well stocked with all the basic essentials and more. The view of river is perfect, we saw eagles, a deer in the front yard, osprey, many boats of all types and jets from the naval base across the river from the house and many a great sunrise and sunsets. Very quiet and a great place to relax. Pete, thanks for everything, we may be back one day.

We began to feel relaxed as soon as we pulled in to the paring spot. The house is at the end of the block and overlooks the Bay. There are chairs and a bench to sit on-- and total relaxation begins. The house is exactly as portrayed online and is extremely welcoming and user friendly. Everything you might want is at your fingertips (and more, including wine and chocolates!). The kitchen is well stocked and lovely overlooking the dining area and the gorgeous outside. The houise is well appointed and there are gorgeous and inspiring photographs in each room,-- of birds, boats, sunsets-- all possibilities when you are at the house. We saw eagles and osprey several times-- Mainly, we needed some relaxation and this was a place for TOTAL RELAXATION-- Thanks for providing this.
