Overall good value for money

Good value for money as the place is much cheaper than other places. It was nice that we could find a place where we could all stay together but still have our seperate bed rooms. It is a little far away from 5th but still walking distance. Angel the property manager doesn’t speak English but we did our best to communicate with him and he was so friendly and helpful with everything!

Floors were not clean and it smelled moldy around the house. After booking had gone through and payment had been made we received long messages alongside the booking confirmation about costs of things around the house is we broke it. In general a lot of rules and guidelines that wasn’t mentioned in the description when booking. Made us feel uncomfortable before arriving as we were fearing we were gonna be ripped off. Everything went fine though with Angel who takes care of things. The messages were just unnecessary - better to put it in the upfront description.

I will only visit Playa if I can stay at this house!

I had a super late check in due to problems at my previous hotel, and the hosts were right on top of it, meeting me at 11:30pm with keys in hand. The apartment at La Ceiba that I had booked wasn't ready, so they put me in the big 3 bedroom house with the pool instead for the night. One look at it and I asked if I could stay there the entire time instead, so they worked it out and met me the next day to sort out the details. I had the BEST stay at this place and was very sad to leave! The location is a little off the beaten path, which I actually preferred, having been to Playa many times staying in the midst of the hustle and bustle. Having this villa to retreat to every day was such a blessing. Having the private pool to myself was just amazing, and being that I had a dog with me, the walled courtyard couldn't be beat. I loved the privacy and felt SO at home here. The kitchen was nice, fully stocked with all the utensils you'd need. The AC worked well if you need it (I just turned the bedroom unit on at night). There is a security guard right on the corner of the building (outside) which added a nice sense of security. My dog even escaped one night (my fault) and the security guard caught her and kept her inside his booth until I got home, which I am forever grateful for. From now on, I'm only coming to Playa if this house is available. Everything was smooth from start to finish.

Exceptional

We really loved our stay at Villas La Ceiba that we extended our booking twice so instead of 2 nights we stayed for about 6 weeks! The location is great. It's easy to walk to 5th Avenue where we were attending the language school daily in August. It's also a great base for popping to Las Americas/Central Maya shopping malls or just popping down to Tulum/up to Cancun. We felt really safe and secure with the large gates and security cameras. The staff were pleasant and accommodating. The communication with the property was always excellent. We used google translate when talking or making arrangements in person which worked fine. The wifi speed was great and as we had our pug puppy she loved roaming around the garden and burning off energy. We will be recommending this accommodation to all our friends and family who may want to visit us now we have decided to relocate to Playa del Carmen on a long term basis.

Internet could be a bit better but it doesn't matter. With a Mexican sim card you can easily solve this problem.

Shame that a well kept property in a good location has poor management and communication on policies

The property is supposed to be pet friendly. Which is why it ended up being my go to choice. No prior information was given regarding sizes of dogs allowed, or the security deposit to be paid on arrival because of the pet. I was deducted part of the deposit, on the grounds of "the bed sheets having dog hair and being difficult to wash". Not so pet friendly then. No information regarding cleaning of the property. I booked a long stay (8 nights) and I had to ask for them to come and change the bedsheets.

Great place to work remotely from! has everything you need

Location was good, 10-15 min walk from fifth avenue but a bit more quiet are with still some bars & food options nearby. The apartment is great and has everything you need! You really have your own apartment with own entrance, not even the garden is shared with others. We were working from this apartment and the place was perfectly suited for this.

Security guard that met us and handed over the keys did not speak English but we could still figure it out. We did not use the jacuzzi, had some minor leaves in it and we forgot about it. Also, in the picture it displays a swimming pool, but its good to know only the three bedroom apartment has access to the pool, not the other ones. The good side of this is that you don't share your space with anyone, not even the parking space / garden

Superb

We stayed in the 3 bedroom house with a pool. The house is lovely and cozy, the pool is cleaned regularly. The rooms are spacious, with comfortable beds. Good wifi throughout the house. Situated in a quiet area, and the walk to the center and the beach takes around 15 min. Supermarket and restaurants close as well. We would definitely return here, it made our stay in Playa great.

Quiet and spacious condo in the city

Very well furnished, the security guards are extremely helpful and friendly. We like the location because it was quiet and far away from the massive crowds/music/24-7 party of the beach and 5th ave. Easy walk to local taco place, convenience store, French bakery, and tons more. Having the grassy courtyard was great for our kids and dog.

Photos showed there was a hot tub, however there was no hot tub. Only the pool.

Bad

Don't come to this place! They steal from innocent people money! Plus, we didn't have hot water in one of the showers and the air conditioner in the living room didn't work Think twice before you close, if they steal money from me, they can steal from you too!

Great Stay, would recommend and definitly would go back. Thanks Enrique!

Enrique, the tenant of the Villa is friendly, obliging and very kind! He made sure that our stay exceeded our expections. The place was clean, the AC works like a charm and there is complimentary Water when you get there. There is also a good sound systeme and big TV in the living room when you want to relax ! Its close to everything, cornerstore, walmart, bus station, restaurants, etc. Beds are confortable and kitchen is well furnished.

The photos on the website are somehow confusing. We initialy booked a accomodation of 2 rooms, thinking there was a pool, and 2 levels in the house. But when we got there, it wasnt like the pictures we have seen. Thanks to Enrique, we managed to change our reservations and move into the house we've seen on the pictures.
