Beautiful, unique home with such positive energy. We loved it so much and hope to visit again 🏴🥰🙏🏽

Really lovely apartment in a great central old town location. lots of great cafes and pubs right outside the apartment.
Great space inside, and a really good kitchen area if you want to stay in for a bit to escape the cold. Great area to access all the attractions and easily walkable to the station.
Only issue we were having was with the lighting, the bathroom light would go out and that room is very dark even with the light on. Flickering lights in hallway. Lights would go out in the master bedroom for no apparent reason. Could be quite frustrating.

The flat was nicely furnished, though I didn't like the dead deer and the goatskin on the floor.
This is the noisiest apartment I have ever stayed in. The windows are not double-glazed, and you can hear everyone on the street outside. I'm not a light sleeper, but sleep was impossible due to drunk people screaming outside, the sound of binmen, cars, etc. I think I averaged two hours' sleep a night.
I was REALLY annoyed by the constant emails from the owners. I had 10 emails prior to arriving, several messages during, and several after. They also demanded a copy of my passport and when I pointed out that under British law they only need this information for non-nationals, I received a sarcastic and incorrect response that this is "the whole world over". No, it's not.
The key situation: I was given instructions (several times) that I was in apartment 2/1 and it was a white door which required the top lock be opened first. We couldn't find this apartment and almost knocked on a white door where an exasperated tenant had stuck a sign informing us it wasn't the aparment. There was no top lock, and the door was red. It was apartment 3. Really frustrating and it took three calls to Altido (the phone put down on us twice) to get in.
Also, you have to go to another address and fumble with a lockbox to get the keys.
The heating didn't work. We tried everything but the flat was freezing and the radiators didn't work despite the thermostat reading 23c.
Only harsh overhead lighting - most lamps didn't work or were insufficient.
I was really disappointed with this place and the service which was borderline harassment to non-existent when I needed it. I would not use Altido again.

The location and the apartment by itself is perfect.
The second bed was too small and the mattress too hard. The WiFi didn’t work the company who’s looking after the apartment promised to fix it and contact us when the wifi will work but 2days stay was too short to fix it perhaps. The heating do not work during the night for this reason I got a bit cold. We found a very huge bunch of black hair on the carpet next to our bed it was not pleasant.

The location of the property is amazing.
We've been to this property twice now and both times were excellent.
Met the owner as we left and he was lovely, gave us loads of recommendations to do on our next visit!
Parking, but that is difficult in central Edinburgh!

Perfect city apartment that's full of character. Really enjoyed our stay here. Definitely recommended.
