This was our third stay at this wonderful cottage. Even our young adult sons (23 and 21) love coming here.
Thank you so much Peggy and Jim.

We enjoyed our stay in Newport. The cottage was beautifully decorated, had all the amenities and was right on the water yet close to town. There were nearby restaura nts, Hannaford and Walmart if you forgot anything. We loved being on the water to go fishing and kayaking. The location was very peaceful and quiet. We loved our time there and hope to be back next year.

My husband and I spent last week in the cabin. It is so beautifully decorated, very comfortable and the hosts left so many helpful things for us - coffee, soaps,TP, spices, and other essentials. It was our first time to fly to Maine, so it was very appreciated. The property is so tidy, and the lake is lovely. We enjoyed kayaking and watching the gorgeous sunsets. It feels like you're right on the water when sitting inside. The whole week was just wonderful. Thank you Jim and Peggy.

We returned to this cottage again this summer and had another amazing, restful and fun week. Cottage was ready before official check-in. It’s pristine and has everything you need from kayaks to an extra toothbrush just in case. We enjoyed games, reading, swimming, campfires, grilling and kayaking. We are already booked for next summer!

Everything about our stay, with the exception of the weather, was perfect! It is a wonderfully great place, renovated & decorated exceptionally. The proximity to groceries & eating establishment was great. We ate at The Angler, Cevesas, Harvest Moon Deli, & pizza froma wood fired truck at local comvenience store- all recommended, Places to visit included Dragonfly Winery-excellent, Moores Lavendar Farm- lovely but would have been better on a dry day. Peggy & Jim had everything available for an enjoyable stay, including indoor & outdoor games. Our dog enjoyed the deck & dock. Great place for a small family or just a couple looking for a quiet retreat. CAUTION only regardjing the road in; it is a camp road with many, many potholes, so rough drivew for the short distance in from the main road.

This property is absolutely beautiful! You wake up every morning directly on the lake. Outside has every accommodation you can think of, deck, bbq, fire pit, dock, beach area, kayaks, horseshoes, and anything you can think of. Inside has been updated perfectly with just the right amount of space for a family of 4. The owners have thought of any and everything you could need and it is provided! My toddlers woke up every day begging to get in the lake. We loved it so much we already booked it for next summer!

Stayed here 2 years ago and couldn't wait to come back. The cottage is really nice and cozy and is stocked with everything you can think of. Literally right on the water with 4 kayaks and paddle board for your enjoyment. Our Golden Retriever Buddy loved jumping off the dock chasing is ball and trying to make friends with the water fowl. The only downside was the weather but that's Maine for you.

This this vacation rental was beautiful inside and out. The host had all of the renters needs well thought out and responded quickly whenever we had questions. The aesthetics were beautiful the scenery breathtaking. Access to the water was a step away from the camp and we enjoyed that completely. Would definitely love to rent again in the future.

Beautiful cabin in a peaceful lake. The cabin was spotless and had everything we needed. The owners were easy to reach and helpful with check in. Our family of 5 had plenty of space for sleeping and hanging out. The lake was quiet and kayaking and swimming were the highlights of each day. Our family highly recommends this cabin if you’re looking for some R&R and family time. Groceries stores and restaurants are close by for anything you need.

This is our second summer coming up to this location. We love that it has kayaks to use and fully equipped kitchen and linens includes. The air conditioning is key for our family and love that our small pup is allowed to join us. The house was clean, organized, the waterfront location is perfect for a week lakeside. We have already booked for next summer! Thank you Jim & Peggy!

Jim & Peggy thought of everything, very clean & updated cottage. We had great weather throughout the week, having the dock was very convenient for the boat. Caught a 5 1/4 lb. largemouth the very 1st day.
A very quiet & peaceful vacation, watching the loons, female mallard with ducklings. The sunsets were amazing setting over the lake.
Don't overpack, just bring the essentials, everything else is already there. 2 grocery stores within 10 minutes away, Walmart & Hannaford.
Thank-you Jim & Peggy for a wonderful & relaxing time.

This is a beautifully renovated camp, spotlessly clean and very well maintained. We spent our week swimming, kayaking, fishing off the dock, and enjoying the view; everything a summer vacation should be! The cottage was extremely comfortable and nicely appointed. The property itself is lovely with adirondack chairs, beach loungers, firepit, and a shed full of more chairs and water toys. The owners truly think of everything. We can't wait to return next year.

Wonderful hosts and just a perfect lake house! It’s even nicer in person! We spent days kayaking, fishing, building fires outside, and playing in the water. My oldest son caught so many fish - he was in heaven!! My younger ones enjoyed jumping off the dock! We loved having 4 kayaks and a paddle board so we could all go out together. The house was so well stocked in every way possible - kitchen items, games, blankets, all the things! Would definitely stay here again.

Perfect Week Lakeside!
We stayed for one picture perfect week at Jim and Peggy’s lakeside oasis and have already booked for next year. This cottage was cleaned meticulously and had everything you need for your stay from wood for a campfire to family games to play like Scrabble indoors and horseshoes outdoors. The house sits right on the water yet has shade all day on the shore and plenty of spots to relax. There’s a dock and as well as a gradual entry into the lake for littles. We loved kayaking every morning. The house has ac which we needed and a rarity as well as comfortable beds, including the futon! Owners were responsive to but we had no major issues at all. Thank you for a reminder wonder week. -The Fedrick Famiky

We absolutely love the Hart Street cottage. This was our 3rd time back in 4 years. Unfortunately we had to postpone last year due to COVID situation. The cottage is immaculate and has everything you need, just pack your clothes! Love the convenience to downtown restaurants, Hannafords and Walmart. This year we checked out Dragonfly Winery which I highly recommend. Also checked out the Farmer's Table which was delicious and great service. Weather was perfect 70s and sunny all week with beautiful foliage. Thank you to Peg and Jim for being the best hosts.

Wonderful Stay
The property was exactly as listed. The updated camp was beautifully done yet retained the feeling of being at camp. Most important to me is how comfortable the beds are and they were perfect! The yard and amenities were amazing and allowed for a large family gathering where everyone enjoyed. The owners were very personal and made sure that you had everything that you needed during your stay. Thank you!

Amazing Property and Amazing Hosts
We have never rented a property for a vacation before and were leary of the whole process. Lucky for us the property was better than advertised! It has everything you could ask for and then some. The house is beautiful and the lake is very tranquil and amazing to wake up to every morning. Jim and Peggy are incredible hosts and make sure that your stay is comfortable and that you want for nothing. When the person who was supposed to watch our dog caught COVID-19 at the last minute they were very understanding and allowed our dog to come with us. Buddy loved every minute of his stay just as much as we did. I couldn't recommend this property or it's hosts highly enough.

Perfect week by the water
From the moment we turned into the driveway, everything about this camp exceeded our expectations! Location, View, Cleanliness, Decor, Supplies... all 5 Stars! Peggy and Jim thought if everything possible. We barely left the property all week.

Lake Front Perfection
Loved this cottage (aka house)! Well worth the 4 hour drive from Rhode Island. The owners describe this as charming and it is so much more than charming. It is modern, immaculate and literally right on the water. The beds are great. The bathroom and shower are spacious. The stainless steel appliances appear to be brand new. Huge double door refrigerator could easily hold a weeks or more worth of food. There are kayaks, paddleboards, fire pit...and additional outdoor games to keep you entertained. Flat screen TV with Netflix. This cottage (aka house) exceeded our expectations.

wonderful
what a wonderfully well updated cottage that retained the charm of an old creaky camp. We really enjoyed our stay - it made our 25th anniversary & my 51st birthday extra special.

Fantastic Space
We had an amazing time at the property, we didn't want to leave! It is clear that Jim and Peggy actually thought through what people would be doing while visiting and what they are likely to forget. We cooked every day and they had almost everything we needed, groceries were also only ten minutes away. The cottage is close to town with stores and restaurants, but at the place you forget that you are near anything. We also loved that it was very clean at check in, particularly now during Covid.
One thing to note: my partner is very tall (6'6") and he ended up knocking his head a few times on shelves, hanging decorations, etc. Both bedrooms with queen beds have low ceilings and there is a ceiling fan in the master bedroom, so your choice is to squeeze onto the full bed (hard at 6'6") or brave the low ceilings. Nothing new for us, but something to be aware of. Anyone under that height should have no problems :)
