Very cute and has view of the beach. Upon going to bed I noticed a yellow stain one of the pillows. I changed pillows. The morning we left I removed all sheets and pillow cases and found all pillow themselves to be very yellow stains. They look like old drool spots. I got a response from VRBO that they will take of it.
Another concerning safety issue was the threshold seal going in or out the front door. It was torn enough when you walk across it, your shoe can easily get caught and have you fall down cement stairs. All in all if these issues were taken care of, my husband and I would return.

I was here for the Paper Arts Festival at the Visual Arts Center so the location was perfect. The house was comfortable. My only complaint was that the refrigerator reeked of fish even with a box of baking soda in it.

My wife and I stayed at the cottage with our dog over Thanksgiving weekend. We mostly ate, drank, walked the beach, and enjoyed several nearby restaurants. The cottage worked perfectly for us and was everything as advertised. You almost can’t beat the location unless you were right on the beach. I would definitely recommend this cottage.

After receiving a message allowing early entry to Crab Cottage, we were delighted to find the cottage in very clean and ready condition. The spaces are comfortably sized, the kitchen well equipped, and location is within walking distance of beaches, shopping, and restaurants. We hope to return soon.

The property was not cleaned. Two hours later it still was not cleaned so we left. We had to miss our Grandsons bithday because Vacasa didn't deliver.

This house was not only a huge disappointment, but actually dangerous.
When we arrived the house was dirty and in disrepair - old fruit left out and floors gritty with dirt. We had to wash blankets that were full of grit and dust. To our huge disappointment and inconvienience, it was NOT a 2 bedroom as advertised. The second bedroom is a futon bed that was not made up and we had to search for sheets and (dirty) blankets. There was no lamp, rug, or anything to make it anything other than a storage room. To make matters worse, the mattress to the futon has springs that literally dig into your back and is not suitable for an adult let alone your least favorite child. We called Vacasa and they brought over an air mattress and were very nice about it, but did not offer to compensate us in any way for the inconvenience. They also sent a housekeeper to clean the floors - again nice but not the way we wanted to spend our first day waiting around for Vacasa workers to come help us.
What was worse than these things was that the first night the doorknob to the 2nd "bedroom" came off, locking my friend in the bedroom for over an hour. We called the Vacasa emergency line for help but they did nothing. I finally found a steak knife to wedge in the door to get her out - we nearly had to call the police. The following day, there was ZERO communication from Vacasa to apologize or make things right.
The following day I had a work related call and the WIFI was so weak that I had to connect to my cell phone and burned through so much data that I had to spend $30 just to get through the trip. We spent the 3 days of our 'vacation' waiting around for Vacasa people to show up and return phone calls. I cannot urge you enough to SKIP this rental and keep looking! Yes, it is a couple blocks from the beach, but it is on a busy corner and the only window overlooking what might be an ocean view is permanently clouded with condensation. This stay was incredibly stressful and one of the worst trips of my life.

Beds could us some improvements/upgrades futon very uncomfortable and our 4yr old was too afraid to sleep in the room by herself because it is right by front door. Very noisy traffic wise being as it is in prime intersection to historic Nye Beach. Otherwise Very nice place to stay.

Kitchen window with the view to the beach needs replaced as the seal is broke and it’s cloudy so you can’t see well through it.

We loved everything about the Crab Cottage! It was clean, newly renovated with new appliances. It was within easy walking distance from the beach, restaurants, and bars. It was just off Highway 101 and easy to find It felt like a safe neighborhood. We plan to come back and stay in the future!

First and foremost, Crab Cottage was clean as a whistle! To us, that was our number one expectation! Everything one could ever need (and then some!) was available, including extra light bulbs, flashlight, even tape! Books, games, TV-all we're there for our enjoyment! The place had loads of towels and wash cloths, even extra laundry detergent. A short walk to the beach became a part of every day's activities. We would come back every year if we could!!!

Cozy, family room style kitchen/living room, convenient
My spouse and I have stayed at the Crab Cottage several times over the past five years. We appreciate the ability to bring our dear old dog. There has never been evidence of other dogs having been there. The cottage is bright, clean and fresh with plenty of light - important in the PNW climate! We love the open floor plan in terms of kitchen, dining and living room being one great room. At the same time the two bedrooms are separate so a person can get a nap or go to bed ahead of other guests and still have some peace and quiet. The mattress in the master bedroom is very comfortable. We slept great. We enjoy the ocean view from the kitchen and the master bedroom. Located kitty corner from Zach's Bistro, a block from the Performing Arts Center , walking distance to Nye Beach and walking distance to the ocean. Just terrific.

Long Weekend at Crab Cottage.
We loved our stay here at the crab cottage! We wanted a relaxing getaway and that’s exactly what we got. Close enough to the beach/shops that you can walk. Less than a 10 min drive to the other side of town to the aquarium. The location was perfect.

This place needs help!
It's a small and poorly designed cottage. The bathroom is impossibly small, and NO, I'm not a large person. I'm a petite woman who needs some place to put, oh, say my toothbrush, my hairbrush, my meds. There is no place in the bathroom, so we ended up putting our stuff in the laundry room on top of the washing machine. Also, the living room furniture is way beyond its' useful age. It's uncomfortable and, in the case of the rocker-recliner, dangerous. The chair suddenly flipped over, and I hit my head on the window sill as I went down! There were no useful instructions for operating the TV, and after 2 frustrating hours of trying, we finally managed to turn it on and find a channel. The place has some minor damage that could easily and quickly be repaired: a doorknob that falls off, a thermostat knob that falls off, a window that no longer locks in place as the catches are no longer connected to the window. And, nary a Kleenex to be found! Bottom line, we won't be back to this property...EVER!

Cozy Cottage stay
The listing is exactly as the cottage was. It was cozy and cute, within walking distance to Nye beach, shops and restaurants. The rental’s temps are set low at 50/55 upon arrival so this time of year it is chilly. Each room has its own thermostat, and once turned up was more than toasty. We happened to have a gorgeous, sunny and dry weekend visit in January. The bathroom vent was dust filled and the window a little moldy. Filter should be cleaned routinely and with the mold we understood with the shower steam. Be mindful as the toilet pipes are older so don’t overwhelm the bowl with tissue. It is a bit noisier on weekend nights with vehicles. Overall was a great stay with all we needed. We would recommend this rental!
