We had a wonderful stay at the cozy cabin. It was actually very spacious. We had three adults and two teens. The kitchen was well appointed. The deck had both grill and an awesome hot tub.
Terrie (the host) was a great communicator.
Would definitely stay again!

This is our second stay at this home and it was another wonderful visit. The kitchen is well appointed with plenty of cooking utensils. We used the BBQ which was clean and easy to use. The back deck is so peaceful with the wind blowing through the pine trees. Access to Tahoe Donner community facilities is great- we used the beach club, golf driving range- all easy to access. Trails behind the neighborhood were convenient for a short hike. Easy to relax and enjoy the Sierra Nevada area. Hope to return!

As soon as we got there we were amazed. The perfect home for a quick getaway with the family. My kids loved the hot tub and ability to go sledding just outside the house. Supermarket (Safeway) just a few minutes away. We never used the fireplace because we were outside the entire time.
The owner Terrie was soooooo nice and available anytime I had questions. Will definitely come back.

Overall not bad, they gave us early check-in, which is nice so that our kids can nap. we really needed that.
The beds were all comfortable and firm. Bunks could really reduce the decorativepillows.
Found a bit of golden animal fur in one of the bunkbeds, and some human scab particles on the bunk mattress covers (once I lifted up the sheets). however, this was just the bunkbed room- no other complaints from people in the master or queen bedrooms.
but-
-You don’t get a bottle of wine when you check in. Darn.
-Theres no propane grill on the deck.
We actually brought food to grill, but couldn’t use it. No idea this would be the case because online listing said there would be one.
each bathroom only had one extra roll of toilet paper, and no responses to my chat/questions regarding whereabouts of (additional) toilet paper in the house. I don’t know why, but that question was avoided each time I asked.
Hot tub, family room, and kitchen are great. decks are pretty clean.
Cozy place. Warm comfortable but not very modern. The upstairs loft is smaller than the listing makes it look. the TV is a bit old and needs to be replaced w/ something thinner and higher resolution. downstairs bathtub was not dirty, but was pretty dark stained from years of use, or maybe it just needed some bleaching.
Water pressure is good, nice and hot. But…housekeepers did not fully clean up the hair off the bathroom floor and toothpaste/beard shavings in the sink.
W/D are very modern and easy to use.

We enjoyed our stay at this Tahoe Donner cabin. Kids loved the large bunk beds, and the hot tub on the back deck was great. Good location and well equipped cabin.

Great place to stay with kids. Loved the private beach access, and hot tubbing and BBQing on the deck. Would definitely stay again.

The house was well equipped with everything we needed for our time in Truckee. The finishes and furnishings are showing a little age but everything is clean and in good working order. The kitchen was well equipped. The hot tub was a welcomed luxury after a long day of bicycling. The host was great to work with and answered a few questions quickly.
We enjoyed, and recommend spending time at Donner lake, either on one of the public docks (free, first come first served, so come early) or at China Cove beach in the state park (also, this fills up on the weekends, but weekdays are never too crowded). If you want to paddle board, get out early as the wind kicks up mid morning.
Truckee is a great place to stay on its own. Check out Donner Lake, the huge bike park, lots of hiking and mountain biking, float in the river, several very good dining options. But it is also close enough to Tahoe that we went to Sand Harbor twice (get there before 8 on weekdays, maybe earlier on weekends, absolutely worth the trouble though) and to Emerald Bay another day.
We would gladly stay here again!

Me & my family enjoying staying here for our snow trip.. We were not ready for how much snow there was there. But we enjoyed our time. The house had everything for us even accommodating my 1 year old son with toys, high chairs and even a baby gate! But the only thing I had a problem with was in the master bathroom the shower curtain needs to be changed. Other than that we would recommend this cabin to relax and put your feet up. And thank you Terrie for letting us use your cabin to make some amazing memories with my family.

Tahoe Donner amenities expanded our options for recreation and relaxation. Comfortable home, great deck and hot tub. Convenient to plenty of restaurants and shops. Overall, the setting and accommodations made for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

This is a comfortable place for a week long stay in Donner Truckee. Close to the lake, downtown Truckee and hiking nearby. Home is comfortable for the most part. Some of the kitchen items, towels etc. are dated and can use some updating. Some of the cleaning got missed before we checked in.
Hot tub is great and the large outside deck is lovely. I think this is a better place for families than a group of adults.

We really enjoyed our stay in this cabin. The kitchen had all of the supplies we needed. The beds were comfortable. The neighborhood was quiet and perfect for our after dinner walks....we definitely would book this cabin again.

We really enjoyed our stay at this cabin! The neighborhood is safe and quiet and we found many beautiful views nearby. A few of us needed to work while we were there and the wifi was great!

Wonderful cabin in which to be "alone together" with the family! That it snowed on our first night made it even more special. Has great in-house amenities, isn't far from Olympic Valley and Lake Tahoe, and is nestled in a very quiet neighborhood yet close enough to stores and restaurants.

Our first cabin experience, loved it! Stayed with 2 family couples and it was the perfect size! Loved the fully stocked kitchen! Close to stores since we forgot a couple of items. Enjoyed the jacuzzi at night! And bonus had a hill on the side for sledding! Overall perfect trip!

Place was exactly as advertised - beautiful house in a great location in Tahoe Donner. Nice hot tub and well stocked kitchen with lots of tools for cooking. Host was very responsive and instructions were clear and very helpful.

Clean. Fully equipped kitchen. Close to Northstar and Squaw Valley.

We stayed with 6 teenagers and they loved the bunk room and hot tub!

We had the best time, even in the midst of a snowstorm. The cabin is well-appointed and had everything our family of five could possibly need, including toys for our boys. With two kids under 2, the portacrib, high chair and babygate were invaluable - it meant we didn’t have to pack ours and when you’re traveling with young children, that makes a huge difference. Definitely planning to come back.

Our family had a wonderful time at the Place in the Pines. From the location, to the layout, to the amenities, our family thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The layout was perfect for our family - the kids loved the bunk beds. Everything was clean, comfortable, and well organized. The location is ideal - far enough away from "town" that you don't have the Truckee traffic crunch, but close enough that you can be to any major Tahoe destination in relatively short amount of time. We went in a shoulder month so didn't use or visit any of the amenitites at Donnor - we plan to book another trip soon when those are open!

This is our second time staying at this property. It’s everything my family of 4 needs. It’s super clean, well updated with a good layout. The kids love the bunk room and the hot tub is fabulous! Nice big and well stocked kitchen for cooking. Great location close to everything in Tahoe Donner and Truckee. Terrie is great to work with the super responsive. We hope to stay again!

Our family had a wonderful week enjoying this great home in Tahoe Donner. Terrie, the owner, is responsive, organized and detail oriented which is evident throughout the booking process as well as upon arrival to the property. The house was well-stocked (from beach towels to baby gates!) which made for a relaxing, hassle-free stay. We also appreciated the guest access to all Tahoe Donner amenities, especially Trout Creek and the Donner Lake Marina. Our kids are already asking when we can book another stay!

We wanted a cabin close to several other families staying in this neighborhood so that was primary goal but it was such a nice bonus that the cabin was also perfect for us. Everything was exactly as described and all processes were easy to navigate. Having the hot tub was really an extra plus. It was hot so as long as you keep the windows open at night you will get cooled off quite nicely. We didn't do much cooking but the kitchen was well equipped. Thanks for a great stay, would definitely come back.

Awesome place and location just would tweak it a bit…more fans as there is no AC and when it’s hot in the summer, it doesn’t cool down till late into the evening. Might be more personal preference thus still 5 stars. Also, the Tahoe Donner pool was already booked all week so just a reminder that it requires reservations and to make them ASAP would be a good tip for folks to know. Other than that, amazing place that was super clean and awesome to stay at! Thanks Terri!

Owner Terrie is very responsive to my questions and all accommodations are very well thought and organized. The location is very close to Donner Lake withtons of space between houses for kids to play and privacy. Jacuzzi is huge to fit 6 people easily. Love the back deck and we spent every dinner there. Washer and dryer are modern and there are plenty of towels for water sports. Terrie also provides free passes for local attractions but we are so busy to use them. Big driveway to park multiple cars plus one in the garage. It's two levels so a lot of space vertically inside if the house! Will go there again soon!

Comfortable home away from home. Back deck was shaded, private and quiet. Well equipped kitchen, bathrooms, and an abundance of towels for bath, hot tub and beach use. Furniture and beds were very comfortable and tons of closet space. We used the hot tub 5 of the 7 days, and we experienced a glitch with it on the 2nd day. We contacted Terrie and she immediately had her hot tub service person contact us and he walked us through how to turn it back it on. He came out and checked it the next day to make sure there were no issues, and contacted me to confirm I was not experiencing any further glitches. There was no amenity overlooked in this home. Terrie was very responsive and easy to work with and helped me with my issues with the VRBO app when finalizing my reservation. First time staying in Tahoe Donner and we are looking forward to staying in this home again.

Somewhat last minute trip. We were so lucky to have found this place. Well stocked with kitchen items, games, linens/towels. The 2 queen-sized bunk beds made for a great kid's room (even for older kids). Was also nice to be able to enter and exit through the protection of the garage (since there was a lot of snow). Be careful about clearance into the garage if you have a container on your roof. The hot tub was well-maintained, large and new. The property is large and happened to be covered in snow...making it a great play area! Would definitely stay here again.

Spacious and clean Tahoe Donner family home. We enjoyed 4 nights at this beautiful home. Plenty of room to spread out and relax. The hot tub was an added bonus and we all enjoyed it after a long day on the slopes. Great space outside for sledding too. The kitchen was well stocked, and had everything we needed to make meals together. We hope to return again soon!

This is a comfortable, well stocked home. The hot tub is large and very clean . There was ample space for outdoor snow play. My children enjoyed the many toys and games that were provided . I found the beds and the bedding quite high quality for a rental home. Would recommend it!
