Calstock is a village vwith lots of character, freindy and a good center for east Cornwall The house is right in the centre.
10.0 / 10.0
The property is located a two minute walk from the Tamar River and the magnificent structure of the rail viaduct. The village has no facilities, apart from a pub. Shops are a very short drive to Gunislake or a tad further to Tavistock.
The accommodation is homely and well cared for. Storage heaters are a bit of a pain, so be wise to ensure they are set right as soon as you get there for those winter stays. There is a wood burner which is a great addition and marvellous at keeping the living room warm and snug.
The bedrooms are great, the beds comfortable with plenty of linens. The bathroom is very functional, albeit a bit outdated. The bath itself is a small one, so not able to stretch out for any long soaks if you are over five feet tall. The kitchen is generally pretty good. The cooker is slow to heat anything, but gets there eventually.
Overall, a pleasant stay at a very good price, in a great area for walks and exploring the beautiful countryside North Cornwall has to offer.

Perfect for a family retreat
Cosy dwelling, in the centre of the village, walking distance from two pubs. This two bed cottage is big enough for a family of five to live comfortably and is well equipped. Beds are comfy, sofas deep and the parking is very close.
A great base for exploring the local area from Plymouth to dartmoor and beyond but don’t miss the local walks and hidden attractions of the village. the local pottery is a treasure,
A fine example of beautiful cornwall…

Lovely, cosy cottage with everything needed.
Lovely, cosy cottage with everything needed. Calstock is a pretty village with a lively atmosphere and a great local scene in its pub and Cotehele nearby. Tamar Trails is good for local activities. The river Tamar, the viaduct, the Tamar Valley line into Plymouth make this a good base for visiting Cornwall and Devon. Dartmouth, Newquay, Boscastle,, Fowey, Cawsand and others are reachable but distances are significant.

good location in centre of village.
good location in centre of village. Cottage is small but well equipped. No significant outdoor space. Owners left wine biscuits and a prepared wood fire which always goes down well. Recommend the walk along the river to big house, and definitely worth catching train to Plymouth
