Great place to stay as long as you don't mind being a bit out of the way. Lovely spacious accommodation and the added bonus of red squirrels in the garden. We ate out occasionally but mostly self-catered - Sainsbury's delivered food, so that wasn't a problem. And we could walk up Blencathra from the cottage. Keswick provided SUPs, bikes and shops and the Honister 'Climb the Mines' experience was good for a rainy day activity.

Great stay
What a wonderful location, in the midst of sheep, at the foot of Blencathra and everything we needed within a 15 minute drive. Plenty of walking opportunities in Lake District nearby. House is comfortable, well equipped kitchen, living room with great views and a TV room for the boys upstairs

Had a great time.
Had a great time. Comfy bed and loved the reclining sofas. Good if you want to do walks straight from the cottage. Excellent for Blencathra. Also easy to drive anywhere once your on the A66. Would recommend Keswick Golf Club for Sunday lunch which is a short walk in good weather.

We have just returned from a fabulous two weeks at Netherend.
We have just returned from a fabulous two weeks at Netherend. The house is spacious, clean and very comfortable. The only difficulty we had was with the size of the freezer which is a tiny box, wholly inadequate for a long stay. Other than that it was wonderful. birds in the garden, views terrific.
Location is excellent, close to Keswick Derwent Water and Ullswater. Nearest shop is Keswick which is a bit of a pain.

Great family holiday in wonderfull cottage.
The photos do not do it justice. Both dining and lounge able to sit 10 of us in comfort. only minus point if in fact you need a tv in dining area is its old and poor sound. Main tv in lounge is excellant.

The cottage is beautiful and the scenery stunning, there was everything you could possibly need there, it was a wonderful family break with plenty of space so if you wanted to be quiet you could be, plenty of space for 2 families without them being on top of each other, getting together for meals, a quiet room to read in, a room to watch the television, in fact everything you could posdibly want. Lovely walks and Keswick and Penrith were just a short drive away. There was plenty places to visit with children. We were a 3 generation family with grandma, mum and dad, a teenager, a 5 year old and a 2 year old and an uncle! Great holiday, wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

A great place for a family get together.
A great place for a family get together. There is plenty of room with a large lounge and kitchen. The sun room/toy room/lounge is a great place for the children. The kitchen is very well equiped for cooking with adequate crockery, pans and glassware. The only equipment missing was a pizza cutter. The freezer could be larger and the clothes drier needs replacing. But these are only minor thing as our family had great time here. A great off the road location with some lovely walks.
