About this house rental
****NOTE for 2025: The town of Lake Lure will have the level of the lake down from Jan 1, 2025 until March 31, 2025.****
Ledfords Landing is a picturesque lakefront retreat in a private setting. Our home offers a great combination of qualities that many others on Lake Lure do not. We are fortunate to have a lot that is 19 steps from deck to dock. Lake Lure is mountainous and many homes have a great deal of steps from house to lake. At our home, even if you have family members who cannot navigate those 19 steps, they can sit on the deck and be a part of what is going on in the water. We have a westerly view so from the rooftop deck, you have an amazing view across the lake to where the sun sets behind the mountains. We also have a southern exposure which means we have direct sunlight every season, so even in midwinter, you can enjoy warm sunshine as you sit on the deck or dock. With upper and lower decks, including the rooftop deck and a lower waterside dock, there are lots of conversation areas. Our home is located in a "no wake" cove, so whether you are fishing or floating in the cove , you don't have to worry about boats speeding by. We are happy to share of places to walk directly from our home. We have a plenty of parking which is a rarity. Come see for yourself, our home is an amazing spot to get away and enjoy precious time away with family and/or friends. We know this time is special and we are committed to your coming and finding our home and property "everything and more" that you see on this website.
This 2600 sq foot lakefront home is spread over two floors. Upper and lower decks boast of views across the lake to Chimney Rock. The main level has a large great room with ample seating that surrounds a lovely brick fireplace. The kitchen/dining area is spacious and opens into the great room. The upper level has 4 bedrooms - 3 of which have a sliding glass door that opens onto a common covered balcony facing the lakefront. The master bedroom on the lakefront has a king bed and its own full bath. There are other three bedrooms upstairs - 2 queens and 1 with a double and a twin. The left back corner queen bed boasts its own 1/2 bath, all bedrooms share a full bath in the hallway. All of the bedrooms are roomy and comfortable. For additional sleeping space there is a 5th bedroom with a queen bed that is located just off the kitchen. This is great for folks who cannot or do not want to navigate stairs. There is also a full bath with shower downstairs, which is also accessible from the outside, great for a quick rinse off after swimming. The large covered porch/deck located off the great room provides a great spot to read a book or enjoy the lovely views of the lake and mountains.
If it’s a water experience you are interested in, there are only 19 steps from the house deck to the lakefront over-sized dock with shaded area and ceiling fan. Whether canoeing, kayaking, swimming or just floating aimlessly in the cool emerald water, you’ll be at ease as we are situated in a quiet “no wake” cove. (We provide 2 sea otter kayaks and canoe for your use.) No matter how you spend your day, you’ll want to be on the 'rooftop deck' over the boathouse in the evening. The water changes from cool green to brilliant gold as the sun sinks over the mountain. At Ledfords Landing, you have a beautiful view directly across the lake to the mountains.

We are not a rowdy group (anymore!) This house and location were the perfect combination for the readers, puzzle masters and water lovers in the crowd. And the peacefulness of being in this end cove was the true unexpected pleasure. The kitchen had everything you might need and the second fridge was a needed bonus. Te Ingles was very nice, and we didn't go out to eat once! Who wanted to leave this idealic setting?
Serious caviat: the bedroom off the kitchen, (the one we took due to mobility issues) while officially one of the 5 listed, was really a utility room with a queen bed. It may be best to drop it as the fifth and put video games, music videos or the like in there. It was stuffy and our bathroom was off the main living area.
That being said, we enjoyed ourselves tremendously and count this as one of our best family gatherings yet!

This is such a great spot on Lake Lure! The porches have beautiful views of the mountains and lake. The kids had so much fun swimming in the cove and playing on the boat! Easy boat ride to the Lake House restaurant and the marina.

This home was everything we wanted for our vacation! The home was clean and spacious with great sleeping arrangements, a well equipped and efficient kitchen open to the family room with plenty of room for all of us to dine together...inside and out! The decking offered excellent views of the cove, the mountains (includinding Chimney Rock in the distance) and long views of the lake. The cove was perfect for swimming, fishing and paddle boarding. We did not have to worry about safety as the no wake zone and cove offered a private play area. The hosts were very communicative and easy to work with. I would highy recommend this home for a lake and mountain vacation!

This was our first trip to Lake Lure but it certainly won’t be our last. Jenny was so communicative and everything was honestly better than I expected. The location couldn’t be more perfect and the house has everything a large group - especially with kids - would need. Can’t wait to return!

We enjoyed our stay at Ledford's Landing over Spring Break 2023. We are a family of five with three little ones. Our visit lasted four days and three nights. Jenny, the owner, was an absolute pleasure. She was kind and communication was timely. The house was tidy and clean. The property is beautiful. My children loved everything from the variety of games included inside the house to the outdoor activities. Even though the lake levels were down significantly, my children had an absolute blast walking in the water and swimming. We all enjoyed the canoe as well. I highly recommend staying here. It's a perfect getaway to enjoy the water, views of the mountains and also have space for your entire family.

We loved our short getaway! The house is true to pictures and maybe even a more beautiful water scene in person :)
There was a small hiccup with water and freezing temps, but the owners were in direct contact with us the whole time and the issue was resolved quickly. It was something that was out of everyone’s control and the owner’s were more than happy to make sure our stay was above expectations. We’ll definitely be looking to book again for the summer!

I can't say enough great things about this property and our experience. Every year I rent a property for a lake retreat for my management team and their families. And personally, I rent multiple properties a year for family getaways. And Ledford's Landing was by far one of the best we've experienced.
Let me start with the outdoor space. The view is incredible. As are the spots you get to watch it from. There is a deck above the boat house that's clean, spacious and so peaceful. But where we spent most of our time was on the dock. It has a ton of space, both covered and open. There was enough room for a baby to crawl around safely, kids to jump in, adults to relax under shaded cover, you name it. The water is plenty deep off the dock to jump in, but there's also a shallow area with steps where the kids were trying to catch small fish in their nets. When it rained one day, we fished from inside the boat house and had a blast while staying dry. There are so many things provided for you to use also - 2 kayaks, 2 paddleboards, a paddle boat, a canoe, plenty of floats, life jackets, and we also rented their pontoon boat. Such wonderful outdoor space and offerings.
The decks and railings are all Trex/composite decking, so no splinters for anyone! And super clean. You can gate off areas if needed for kids also. And there's a wonderful grill and outdoor furniture as well, so if you're looking for a spot with great outdoor space - this is it. Did I mention the bedrooms upstairs have access to another balcony also?!
Inside, everything was wonderful as well. Super clean and well-appointed. We had everything we needed for cooking, linens, towels, etc. Internet TV was great to throw on Netflix, YouTubeTV, Prime Video, etc. for adults and kids. And there's even a foosball table. We had 5 adult couples and four kids aged 1-6. The master bedroom had room to put a queen inflatable mattress and that was all we needed.
Lastly, the communication with Jenny was fantastic. We had a bad rainstorm one day and power went out for the entire area. We texted her and she responded right away with updates from Duke Power. She was quick to respond with any questions we had throughout our stay, and the check-in information we received had all kinds of ideas with things to do, etc.
We loved our stay so much, we're already looking at dates we can go back! If you're looking at a place to stay on Lake Lure, we can't recommend Ledford's Landing enough!

We combined a special occasion along with a family vacation and could not be more pleased with all the amenities this property and location have to offer. We also rented the adjoining property, Papa Bob's, to accommodate our large group. Clean, spacious, well stocked with everything you might need to make your stay effortless. We took advantage of all the water sports available, including the pontoon boat for a breathtaking sunset cruise. Jenny, the property manager, was easy to contact and she made sure to answer any questions or concerns we had.
Everyone agreed this was the best rental from previous years of vacationing and no one wanted to leave. I would wholeheartedly say we would DEFINITELY recommend this property without hesitation. .

This was a great property with amazing views and a ton of amenities. Property manager was great and very accessible and ready to help with any thing needed. Only challenge we had was a spotty Internet connection but looks like that was a recent issue they encountered. Given the attention to detail shown here I fully expect them to fix it asap. We were very happy with this booking and would go back here in a heartbeat.

The house and property were beautiful. 5 bedrooms perfectly accommodated our family. My husband went out in one of the kayaks provided even though the lake was down and it was drizzling and enjoyed it thoroughly. Our stay would have been perfect except it rained the whole time and the boat tours were closed. But that wasn’t their fault. Only a few miles from Ingles grocery store to do all your shopping. Fully covered with dishes and pots and pans. Perfect time with family.

Our family of 12 stayed here for Thanksgiving. Location is great; peaceful and quiet. Saw deer and many other wildlife tracks along the bank of the lake. Lake level was down but the kids and grown ups were still able to go out on the canoe and kayaks. The grounds are massive so the kids explored and found treasures. The boat house is well stocked with every size of life jacket you could ever need. The house has games and tons of books for the kids as well. The ping pong table was a hit with everyone. Everything you could possibly need with the exception of food is here. There is an outstanding Ingles nearby for groceries. You could easily stay here without ever leaving. And the view down the lake to the mountains is breathtaking . Jenny is outstanding and will work with you on any issues or questions you may have. I would stay here again and again. There was more than enough room for everyone and we never felt cramped.. I hope we can come over the summer so the kids and kids at heart, can enjoy the lake even more. My family and I thank you Jenny for sharing your lovely home with us. We actually ate our Thanksgiving meal on the deck overlooking the lake. Truly a memorable and magical experience. Thank you Jenny.

Our small group (4 couples) from church stayed here for a weekend retreat. The home was prefect. We have a beautiful view of the lake and the surrounding mountain. Weather sitting on the decks or in the house the property was breathtaking and well cared for. We could see the beautiful handiwork of God surrounding us. We had plenty of room for our meetings, lots of room for preparing and eating our meals together and the sleeping arrangements were great. Also plenty of room for games and activities. We look forward to renting this lovely home again.

We searched for our perfect weekend get-a-way long and hard. We chose Ledford's Landing due to the size of the home, the location, and the amenities. We were not disappointed. My kids had the best time exploring the cove, fishing from the docks, and riding in the pantoon. My parents enjoyed sunsets on the decks (no stairs) and the rocking chairs. I would absolutely rent this home again. And the owner, Jenny, was easy to work with and willing to accomodate last minute request. Book this property because you will not be disappointed!

Great stay at a great property! Plenty of space for 2 families and the house is very well equipped. The location on the lake was perfect and we even got out in the boat a few times despite having not the best weather. Jenny was super helpful and easy to work with. Definitely on our stay again list when we get back to the Lake Lure area.

We stayed at the beautiful Ledford's Landing vacation home during the 2005 Christmas holiday. We found the home to be impeccably clean, comfortable, and welcoming! The owners even put up a Christmas tree for us to have fun decorating with our own items we brought from home. The view of the mountains was spectacular!! Our son, as cold as it was, got out on the paddleboat and enjoyed the tranquility of beautiful Lake Lure. What a fantastic spot! We made good use of the wonderful fireplace on those chilly evenings while watching Christmas movies. We will never forget how we spent Christmas 2005 at Ledford's Landing in Lake Lure, NC. Thank you for helping us to create wonderful and lasting memories!

We had a large family reunion at beautiful Ledford's Landing and can't say enough great things about our week there. Included in our group were 5 small children under the age of 3 years old. There was so much for them to do and see, including swimming, hiking, boating, playing in the large field next to the water...endless ways to keep them busy and happy! And also safe - the house was very "childproof" which also made our stay more enjoyable. And the kids weren't the only ones who had a blast! All of the adults agree - we're coming back next year!
Thanks for a wonderful week. We love your place.

I'm wonderfully rested and totally inspired after our retreat get-a-way
at Ledford's Landing!
We had a great time. And have plans to make this a yearly retreat. The Lake Lure Tours, which we also highly recommend even mentions Sunset Cove as the filming location for some scenes in Firestarter. The house itself was warm and welcoming and we immediately felt at home. Thanks again for all your help. Very much looking forward to visiting again.

When our family takes a vacation we desire to "make memories" - ones that will last for a lifetime. Ledford Landing provided an incredibly lovely location for that to occur.
We have made three trips to this lovely spot at Lake Lure. First, with our son, his wife, and children. Second, with our Young Adult Bible Study group, and last, with another group from our church. In each case our time proved to be a blessing to all who went. They each said, "This is a must for another outing!"
The home looks out upon beautiful Lake Lure surrounded by rugged mountains unlike most of the North Carolina Blue Ridge range. The cove Ledford Landing is situated on is quiet and secluded. The dock provides an incredible view of the sunset.
We found the home itself immaculate and lovely. The downstairs family room provides a large area for fellowship. The roomy kitchen provided everything we needed to work as a group to fix a simple lunch or a gourmet dinner.
Each bedroom was decorated with such taste - all eye-appealing. Three had exits onto the balcony overlooking the lake. This provided a perfect location for reading or just being. The bathrooms were immaculate (A must for our family!).
The very large waterfront area provided places for our groups to play softball and crochet. Some enjoyed fishing.
One feature that was a blessing with our family was the safety precautions the owners had made. Each access off the porch to the lake had safety gates to assure the children couldn't go alone.
Returning to Ledfold Landing is not a question. It is assured! We desire to be blessed with another opportunity to make memories with loved ones in this lovely mountain get-away.
