About this house rental

This cottage is ideally located for families and couples who want to come and go from the beach and downtown without driving, parking or walking very far. The beach access, directly across the street, is just 40 feet from the front steps. Restaurants and shopping area are just 3 blocks away. We are located at the corner of West Ashley Ave. and 4th Ave. - look for our aqua cottage with widows walk on the top.

One of Folly's original cottages, the Love Shack has been updated inside with creature comforts. But the large front deck is still our guests' favorite - as it puts you right in the Folly action with great views. You can see and hear the ocean from almost every room in the house - or listen to the ocean and feel the breezes. There's even a roof top deck over the porch if you want a panoramic view of the island.

This rental offers guests a combination of comfort and nostalgia that's getting harder to come by...we have aimed to preserve the same flavor we enjoyed as youngsters coming to the beach, before the era of condos and 'McMansions.' This property has 2 bedrooms and a large living area, both areas equipped with 42' flat screen TVs. Our cottage has approximately 650 square feet.

The living area and kitchen are open, divided by a bar/table/counter which is an old hatch door from a WWII Liberty Ship - refinished of course.

Folly Beach is a six mile long barrier island, and the closest beach to historic Charleston, South Carolina, 15 minutes on the Connector.

We welcome children of all ages and dogs. Our property is located on a corner lot. The backyard has a canopy of live oaks and is completely fenced. This home is not nearly as elevated as the newer ones; so there's only 10 steps from the back door to the yard. All these features make pet care and child care a lot easier. And don't worry about parking - we have 4 off street spaces at the back of the lot; and another in the front.

This is our absolute favorite place. We have great memories with our first love ( DOG) running in the ocean , outdoor showers and hanging in the sun either in the back or on the deck. This is my wife and i absolute favorite place. We are looking forward to making the return again.

This property provided a wonderful getaway at Folly Beach. The check in process was easy and Gigi was highly responsive to questions during our stay. The property is across the street from beach access which made it easy to travel back and forth to the beach. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to cook and the place was clean and comfortable. I highly recommend this property!

This vacation cottage was absolutely perfect. Had everything we needed, great location, extremely clean and tidy, everything was just perfect. Even down to the little things like ice in the freezer, USB receptacles for charging devices, dishwasher, coffee maker, shoe rack (sounds minor but just an example of this place being set up for you and ready to be a vacation home). The porches are amazing to sit and, spots with both sun and shade, just beautiful.

This property was just right. Just quiet enough and convenient to everything. Super fast & friendly response from property manager and owner when I accidentally locked us out. Bonus you can feel the ocean breeze from the front porch! We will be back!

My husband and I came to Folly Beach for our anniversary and we had the best time! This property gave us the easiest access to the beach and the downtown Folly area; we enjoyed walking to dinner each night. We definitely fell in love with Folly after our trip and look forward to returning!

We have stayed in several other places in this neighborhood and they've all been great...but this one is really great due to the location (directly across from one of the Folly access paths),the huge elevated deck that was great for people watching and getting out of the rain if there was any, the lovely fenced-in back yard (great for the dogs), great parking out in back, to name a few of our fave amenities...the cottage itself was adequately equipped and, I have to mention this, the beds were super comfy! whether you are very familiar with Folly or not, you wouldn't be disappointed staying here! Also, Gigi (property manager) was super easy to get along with and communicate with if needed. There was work going on down at the beach where they were working 24/7 to rebuild and fill in with the sand and it did require the closing of the direct access path across from Love Shack but there was still another access a littles ways down the lane...

Even professors need a break. The Loveshack was a perfect getaway for the girls to relax on Spring break. Gigi, the property manager was amazing. The cottage was immaculate. We crossed the street to walk the beach and could walk for lunches and dinner. We will be back.

This property was perfect for a couple days on Folly Beach. The house is beautifully remodeled cottage with incredible natural lighting. The porch and backyard were great for lounging with our two dogs. We really enjoyed the outdoor spaces. The kitchen was well equipped and Gigi even brought us an additional steam pot for a low country boil. The close and quick access to the beach makes this house worth every penny. We would absolutely stay here again and recommend the property to our family and friends.

We came down to visit our daughter and stay on the beach and I did not want to leave. The house was very clean, beds were very comfortable and the location could not have been better. We spent time exploring Folly and a day on the beach, the porch was perfect for relaxing and people watching. The living room and kitchen had everything you could want. Coffee, creamer and water were in the fridge, along with plenty of towels. It was also great to have a BBQ to use. Owner BJ & property manger GiGi were very accomodating and easy to contact. We can not wait to visit again.

This house was a perfect fit for our family (2 adults, first grader, and dog). They had just put in new living room and deck furniture and painted the house. It was very comfortable and easy to live in. The house is well insulated from what could be a noisy street in busier times of the year. We enjoyed the beach, bike riding, and not getting in the car once we got there. Highly recommend it!

Great little house that was perfect for our family of 4. Prime location, great communication with the house manager, loved the front porch and deck, well-kept yard, we even did a couple of the puzzles that were there on rainy mornings. Definitely a “classic” Folly house!

We really enjoyed our stay. Very clean, comfortable cottage with up-to-date appliances. Easy access to the beach and downtown. Loved the screened in porch and the fenced in backyard for our dogs. Lots of parking. Being able to see and hear the ocean from the porch was definitely a highlight for us.

We had such a wonderful time at The Love Shack! The house is adorable and completely spotless and a short walk from Bert's and Folly's restaurants and bars. We had everything we needed for a wonderful week including smart TVs, perfectly supplied kitchen and a wonderful view of the ocean from the front porch. Gigi was wonderful and made sure we had everything we needed. Definitely hope to visit again soon! Thank you!

We adored our time at the love shack! What a fantastic place and location. Beds are super comfortable and our dog loved the fenced in yard it made everything so easy and fun! This place has the perfect location right across from the beach. It has a fenced in yard for pets and plenty of parking. I would definitely stay here again. The host was so helpful and responded to all questions immediately. I highly recommend this house for your stay at Folly.

Loved this property that allows dogs! Clean, well stocked with kitchenware, linens, comfortable beds, right across the street from the beach and beach access, fenced yard, beach chairs, boogie boards, and easy check in. Particularly loved old bungalow feel that's been updated. Comfortably housed one single and a couple and two dogs.

This was our second stay, and we loved it even more this visit! We enjoyed the huge, fenced backyard, the skylights, the porch (screened and unscreened) and the crows nest! It's the perfect location. We will definitely stay again! Thank you!

The house is so charming and easily sleeps 6. The kitchen is well equipped and there is plenty of parking. The views from the porch,deck,and crows nest were very nice. The beach is right across the street and the center of town is four blocks away.

Property was just as advertised! Great location. Easy walk to the beach and restaurants. Brought our dogs and the yard was perfect for them. Gigi was great to work with and answered all our questions about places to go and things to do along with making sure the property was ready for us.
