Great location right on the harbour. Staff absolutely fantastic throughout all shifts. Accommodation exceptionally clean. Excellent breakfast - plenty of options and brilliantly done.
Only one issue and it’s probably my own fault for not reading the room facilities correctly but the ‘kitchenette’ is only a sink, storage cupboards and tea/coffee making facilities - no fridge or cooking/microwave facility so if you plan and keeping any foodstuffs make sure they don’t require refrigerating or cooking in the accommodation.

Great food and pet friendly
Good location for exploring coastline villages
Ground floor room next to barrel store quite noisy at night times

Breakfast was a good choice but it was obvious that some of the cooked items had been prepared much earlier - sausages and mushrooms - not a very hot meal. (But kippers were good)
Parking unavailable and it was a very busy weekend. Dinner menu was largely reduced due to the town being busy earlier in the day. No beef, lamb or potatoes. Room 3 was quite small and there were paper walls - we could hear other guests through the walls. Rambling corridors and tight stairs. Atmospheric stay with helpful staff but the hotel did not cope well with a busy weekend. This did not help the overall experience.

The Inn had all the history one could want while being updated and very clean, with attentive staff and service and lovely food. A quiet night's sleep. We left for a terrific drive north along the coast. Fantastic.

Beautiful comfortable bed. Really friendly staff, nothing seemed any trouble. The landlady whom we meet was very hospitable, very chatty and really interested in who we were and where we came from. Breakfast was exceptional, there wasnt anything not on the menu. My husband opted for full english as per the norm. I had beautifully buttery scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and brown toast. We had the choice of cereal 1st but we both agreed that we pleased we didnt because the potions were so plentiful. Lovely wide selection for evening meal, cooked to perfection. We would both thoroughly recommend a stay at The Olde Ship Inn, very friendly and welcoming
There wasnt anything we didnt like. Nothing at all.

hotel is comfortable and clean and in mode for the pub
price of room for one night was extortionate even to say we booked within 36 hours of arrival. £230 for one night I expect 5star plus

We stayed in Britainnia Bungalow, which was perfect for 2 couples to relax in, having its own lounge area with sea views. The food was excellent. So much choice at breakfast, well cooked and presented. Quaint pub with some good ales and all amenities close by.
As a note for anyone else staying the bungalow the toiletries provided were limited, so would recommend you bring your own. And don't forget that unless you have a blue badge you can't use the inn's car park.
Although breakfast was delicious, service was chaotic at times. We would recommend staggering breakfast times. Just an observation.

Location great. Only problem is no on-site parking so had to pay £8 in council car park.
Greater initially by unfriendly bar staff as there was no one on reception. Otherwise all other staff very friendly….especially the restaurant staff that evening.

Location and history was fabulous. Cleanliness of bathroom was exceptional.
Staff at breakfast were not welcoming, sausage was not belly busting and was very small, eggs were overcooked and it only came with 1 slice of toast

Was looking for a couple of days away with our pet dog. Looked at a couple of cottages then found The Old Ship Inn which was cheaper and came with breakfast, glad we chose it. Great location in the centre and right on the harbour, good friendly staff, great breakfast and an extra sausage for the dog. Stayed in the adjoining cottage which was ideal for the dog. Would definitely go back.
Room only had 2 single beds would have preferred a double

The Room was incredibly noisy. The showers sound like a jet engine. Our room was on a floor with a sliding door, the door was sprung closed and slammed shut.
