Arrogant, unaccomdating host.

In the middle of winter, there was no hot water. The host assured us that hot water will run after 5 seconds of opening the tap. We were there overnight, with children but did not get any hot water. One electric blanket didn't work. The gas heater had no gas. The doors had no locks. The host was very arrogant and asked us to leave if we're not happy. He then offered to turn on the electric geyser if we stayed on. This should've been done prior to our arrival. Very unhappy, will not recommend. The host said he will refund us for one night but that hasn't happened yet.

Beautiful hidden gem in Harrismith, combined with outstanding hosting. Don't miss out on this one!

We arrived in very rainy weather, and our host, Oom Fanie was standing outside with an umbrella ready to greet us. He had upgraded our room from a standard double room, to an apartment. This apartment is beautifully appointed and is equipped with the latest modern appliances. It had just started loadshedding when we arrived, and Oom Fanie immediately put the generator on for us for two hours, so that we had light and could use the power outlets. His hosting and attention to our every need, went way above the call of duty. We loved every minute of our stay at this beautiful facility and really hope that more people will support this establishment. A true gem in Harrismith. Thank you Oom Fanie for your exemplary hosting!

Friendly budget stay for a large group

A lot of space for the price; friendly folks

Only 1 bathroom & bedroom is a waste of the space though, as it’s absolutely huge It could accommodate more people with another bathroom It was a bit hard to find & far from dining options, so just be aware

Very good

Clean and comfortable beds. Spacious and clean apartment. The owner contacted us to ensure that he was there to check us in, and he was there when we arrived.

The water was cut off at around 9 am without notice, while the last guest was taking a shower. The kitchen bin had a bad smell when we opened it.

Over night stay

Unfortunately, it started not so well. I was unable to book in to Platberg as that side of town was without water, not the fault of the owners but rather the town. However, the owner booked me into another guest house that they owned in a different part of town. The first room they booked me into had no bath, only a shower i asked to be moved to a different room with a bathtub witch they had done immediately. My sty turned out very pleasant on the end

Pet friendly stay

The staff is pleasant. I had a special request and they happily helped me. My dogs also enjoyed the stay and especially the garden. Will book again.
