Impersonal and cold. Nature is lovely, but place has no soul

Everything- amazing property built in the 1774 - lovingly Leo and in a valley outside town. Proper Karoo experience.

The room was very nice , especially the shower , but the green light in the ceiling was a let down, could sleep because it shines to brightly….
The light of the alarm thing in the ceiling

No breakfast. Location was great, would any time recommend this place to friends. Need however to stay over for 2 days and more. Not a one-night stay due to distance from main road. They are geared for load shedding, thus no darkness here.

We used it as a self catering.

Great location situated in the beautiful mountains just outside Graaf Reinet. Most enjoyable informative game drive with interesting and different game sitings (no big5). Our ranger Glen was really good.
Well appointed house all round, with sizeable bedroom and bathroom.
The house was dirty. Bedroom Cupboards had dead bugs and spiders inside. Most of the house hadn’t been cleaned properly or dusted for a long while. Many of the Kitchen utensils had to be re-cleaned before we could use them. Dirty coffee tables inside and outside. Old dilapidated braai facility with braai grid still covered with food from previous guests.
Staff stood and watched us carry all our bags from the car to the to the house upon arrival.
We weren’t told that we’d be sharing a house with other guests. (We found out later that they have separate private chalets 15 minutes away)

I was expecting the worst, due to several terrible recent reviews, and honestly I can't understand what anyone would find to complain about. We loved our stay, it could only have been better if I'd been better prepared and brought a steak for the braai.

.
Too expensive for what you get. Not 5 star at all.
Room small. Didn’t smell fresh.
Cant go for a game drive if you didnt book in advance.
Braai light not working, braai grid falling through
Was booked for for 2 night checked out after one

the Accomodation was nothing like advertised on the site … the room was small and crampy and half the size advertised. When approached the staff were singularly unhelpful and rude. It was most unpleasant and a total misrepresentation of the actual Accomodation provided

Chris, co-owner of the property, went out of his way to make our stay comfortable.. Glen was very pleasant and helpful..
We stayed at the Bungalow and loved the spot it was nested in.. was so beautiful to gaze at stars ✨ late in the night..
Swimming pool was nice and big.
