Convenient location
Unfortunately I was there when the lifts were being ‘serviced’. Fortunately I was on the second floor.

We liked the location as were there for graduation so close to the uni was handy
we had an issue with the lack of towels. We made a few requests and it seems there was an issue so housekeeping were unacceptable to replace towels on our second day

The staff were nice, apart from the person at the front desk who was rather rude. The location was excellent.
The rooms were run down, and shabby. Lots of torn things (curtains) and scratch marks and stains. It was definitely not living up to the prices paid. If I was not paying much I wouldn’t mind, but this cannot bill itself as 4 star.
The restaurant food was mediocre also, but again the staff were very nice.

Overpriced restaurant,not very well Cooked.

Good location. Room was acceptable standard.
Breakfast was very poor and hotel a bit tun down. Not worth the price paid for stay and definitely not worth the price of breakfast. Hardly anything left despite 50mins before it ended. What was there was over cooked. Little interest when complained
4.0 / 10.0
Location, helpfulness and friendliness of the staff.
Completely out of date and needs a total refit. Expensive for what it was. Don’t know how it can be classified 4 star. Was clean but that was all. Breakfast was ok with very helpful staff. Not the same quantity or choice I would have expected of 4 star hotel. Windows in bedroom so white with chalk difficult to see out at the bottom panes. Old catches that looked as if would not be considered safe by todays standards. Accessible room with a bathroom that looked more like from an old institution.
On arrival the staff were very helpful indicating the parking arrangements which were good.
The Bar was nice and cosy and had a good atmosphere but sorry Grosvenor you are ready to be retired and overhauled.

The location to Òran mor
Far too hot, noisy rooms. Rooms shabby and outdated. This is never a 4 star hotel. Staff uninterested and no customer service skills at all.

Fantastic location, comfortable room, absolutely no outside noise even though there were road works going on outside. The west end has alot of dog friendly bars and restraunts.
We phoned ahead to ask about bringing 2 small dogs, were told 25 pounds charge for the stay, when we arrived, we were told this was per dog, then told parking was an extra 10 pounds per day, looking for wifi in room, 12.50 for WIFI, so the ok room rate soon shot up per night. Would maybe change 'dog friendly' to ' dog tolerant' as the hotel doesn't exactly overtly show your dog is welcome , (honestly, a water bowl in the reception area would help), also the in hotel gin bar is not dog friendly.

Shower was poor, not very hot, toilet flushing system temperamental… mentioned this to receptionist at check out.

Lovely hotel in a fantastic location. Very friendly attentive staff. Restaurant and bar beautifully decorated. Parking in adjacent building a major bonus and deciding factor for us.
Room was cool and took a while to heat. Main road outside a little noisy.

excellent location right opposite the Botanic Gardens at the top of Byres Road and is good value for money.
floor of our room hadn’t been vacuumed and room including extractor vent in bathroom had quite a significant build up of dust in places. it just needed a bit more of a thorough clean.
steps at rear entrance, some were broken and should have been cordoned off as they created a trip/fall hazard especially for the elderly.
hotel definitely needs a bit of TLC but overall it was great value for the location.

The ceiling lights in the room weren’t working, could only use lamps - wasn’t a big deal for me personally.
The bathroom could’ve been cleaner; there were some things on the floor from the previous guest.

Convenient location.
We were on the 2nd floor, well away from the bar area. The music from the bar was so loud that our walls were shaking. When we called down to the front desk, they said the music would be turned off at 12:30 am. They didn’t turn it off until 12:40 am. it is unacceptable to pay for a room to sleep in and have music playing so loudly that you can’t possibly sleep. Stay away if it’s rest you need. The staff was not accommodating or helpful with this matter.
