The location was wonderful- peaceful, beautiful woodlands and views from our windows. We had very comfortable rooms with nicely equipped bathrooms and little extras like home-made shortbread in a tin and fresh fruit. Breakfast was delicious and the spa pool and jacuzzi were excellent. Special mention for the young staff who were welcoming and worked hard to make our stay as pleasant as possible.
We were a bit disappointed by the restaurant. The only dinner menu offered was fairly expensive - £55 for three courses - and wasn’t very impressive (spinach gritty, lamb a bit tough, liver parfait served with a tiny triangle of toast). We didn’t really want three courses, anyway, but there was no alternative as the bar/lounge meals stopped at 5.30. On our second night we drove 25 minutes to a village pub to eat.

Location was fine although SAT NAV from main Tiverton road took us along some very narrow lanes. Very convenient for Rosemoor RHS gardens. Breakfast was good with several choices and evening meal was also good.
Noisy dog in nearby room !
4.2
Food excellent and well presented, staff very friendly.
Tea/Coffee provided in the room - a bit more choice.
4.2
Really quiet - no muzak.
Excellent spa.
V gcood food
Hot water from the shower and basin was too hot - could do with turning down the boiler

Spa area however, I went to order drinks at 5.58pm and I was told it was too late as they shut at 6pm. Also no one told us that we had to ask for a member of staff to put the steam room on with thought it was broken
No atmosphere and we ordered the romantic afternoon tea at 34.50 each however, very little food was provided and the sandwiches were not great and there was no ham just egg, salad and tuna
4.2
it was set in a beautiful scenery and staff were very nice and helpful. spa was clean, warm and welcoming.
menu for evening meals didn’t have a choice of other foods if you didn’t want the gourmet set menu. we decided to dine out somewhere else which was a shame. maybe try and have a set menu with a few more regular food choices too.

nothing at all it was perfect!!

Most staff were lovely, especially the guy who served breakfast, great sense of humour and very attentive.
Disappointing lack of generosity in room, we had a suite and there was one bottle of water, cheap instant coffee sachets and no biscuit! Even the premier gives a biscuit in the rooms. Our room had a terrace which was littered with cigarette butts that hadn’t been swept up prior to our arrival.
The breakfast offering was poor, tinned fruit and defrosted frozen summer berries and tinned stewed prunes. Again a complete lack of generosity and most definitely not value for money.
Breakfast was from 8am, we arrived in the breakfast area 10 minutes before 8am, despite there being no one else in the breakfast room and the staff seeing us, no one would approach our table until the clock struck after 8, very poor show.

Our room, the food & beautiful grounds!
The temperature of the swimming pool was cold & the shower water was boiling & we weren't able to adjust it!

Good breakfast but small quantity of cooked breakfast, Some bread rolls on the continental buffet would have been welcome.
Please see answer above.

The staff was extremely helpful perticuly Annie and another lady who's name I didn't manage to get. (permission to use names was gained)
The location is peaceful and very beautiful.
The room needed finishing touches. Very isolated if you don't drive.
Some items over priced for example filter coffee £10.00 for two coffees.
Finishing touches around the room was needed.

Service and food
The booking for the spa and pool. Large areas booked out could not go when i wanted too

Lovely location with nice walks nearby, the hotel is small and the staff welcoming. There is a sense of space and privacy. The spa and pool are very nice although you should book in advance for spa treatments as it is very busy
As we visited just as things were re opening from lockdown, about six weeks after, the hotel felt very quiet and a bit lacking atmosphere. A bit of music or similar in the communal areas could help create more atmosphere.
Unfortunately due to covid the breakfast is not a buffet but served by the waiters, it was a little on the small side.

The meals were amazing. We loved the location and tranquility. We could hear the owls at night. The bed was really comfortable and the room was very spacious and clean.
The staff were really helpful and couldn’t do enough for you. The staff managed to provide an excellent and caring service despite the current Covid situation. It really was a lovely weekend and totally rejuvenating. Thank you.
The only thing perhaps to mention is that (we had the last room available at the hotel so we were not expecting a view over the grounds, )there was an air vent / tube near the window which was a bit noisy but nothing you couldn’t cope with but if it could be moved away from the window that might be a bonus as it’s nice to have the window open in such a lovely location, but even so we still had an adequate view and as I say could hear the owls😊.
4.2
It was exactly as expected. Pleasant, quiet, enjoyable. Staff were helpful and pleasant.
Nothing to dislike.
4.2
The meals were presented well
The room had lovely views over the field's.
Staff were very pleasant 😊
The beverages were below standard for hotel of that calibre ( Nescafé) coffee ☕ Good job we had some descent coffee and teabags with us .We did not eat the 2 bicuits left in an unlabeled tin which was placed on a dressing table, we noticed that they were probably being placed in those tins by cleaners as they had a clear box of them on their trolleys , and they had no individual wrapping ( open to all elements)hmm !
Also extremely hot water in the bathroom which scolded us when we went to wash our hands so we had to put the plug in to allow us to mix cold water so we could wash our hands.🤔
4.2
All the food was excellent - the dinner outstanding.
Location very quiet and attractive. Peaceful, wooded surroundings.
Although there was a shower attachment, you couldn't have a proper shower.
No WiFi in the room.
