Comfortable beds, close to the city centre, friendly staff
Has the potential to be an exceptional hotel, but could do with a little TLC. Did not enjoy the breakfast & is poor for the price
7.0
En general lo mejor es la ubicacion . La relaccion calidad /precio es correcta
Lo peor la dificultad de regular la temperatura y que la ventada es muy pequeña y no se puede abrir

Great location for Castle. Didn’t have breakfast
A little tired but to be expected for the price. The car park was shut but we were not informed. Used NCP car park nearby £29 for 24 hours - advise to download NCP app.

Location.
Lift out of order, and the shower quickly ran cold.
We would love to have stayed on night of event but price was outrageous, they had a room unbooked but were unable to offer it at a more reasonable rate.

Lovely big clean room, had a heater and a fan which came in handy ad it got cold last night. Very comfortable bed and mattress.

Fantastic location - big tick !!!
Just needs some LOVE as it’s getting a little old and tiered now 🥲

Great location, friendly staff, historic charm
Lift wasn’t working (though we were informed), room was very noisy with outside traffic, breakfast v average

Excellent location
Lifts were out of order, but was informed of this before our stay and we were accommodated on the 1st level

the location is great
the rooms are very worn and tired

Reasonable price, friendly pleasant staff, excellent city centre location close to shops, restaurants, castle, rugby grounds.
The lifts were out of order, although we were informed of this beforehand & given the option of free cancellation. Efforts were also made to accommodate us on a lower floor. Decor & fixtures a little tired & could do with modernising.

The rooms were really beautiful and large. The location was also top as well as the breakfast. We would highly recommend the Hotel.
Hmmm... maybe just one thing: the carpets. I would have preferred laminate or even better parquet as it was - just a little - "dusty" and smelled a bit old fashioned. But this is just our impression. The Hotel is really great at all!

Great location , excellent breakfast.
Decoration a little bit tired!

Location 2nd to none, stone's throw from Principality stadium, could check in early, room good size.
Not enough bar staff

Not a lot. I booked based on an experience of the 'old' Angel of 30 years ago when I used to stay quite often but the institution has fallen into disrepair is in need of a massive refurb and the breakfast felt somewhere between an old folks home and a transport cafe. The staff tried their best but are fighting a losing battle.
Everything

The location was super, just what we wanted, we didn’t have breakfast as we are not breakfast eaters, but it smelled nice. The room was very comfortable. The only thing was, it was difficult to draw the curtains, as we are a bit short😂
Somewhere to put our toiletries in the bathroom.

Top locatie..oude grandeur het hotel heeft een ziel!
Ontbijt zeer lekker en restaurant ruime keuze
De liften oud en onveilig.(er was er eentje stuk tijdens mijn verblijf)

Some aspects are in need of refurbishment eg paintwork, tiling

Loved the central location of the hotel and the staff were very helpful
Staff seemed to flounder with regards supplying bar food when the kitchen appeared to run out of gas

Great location opposite the castle. Striking entrance. Friendly helpfil receptionist
Very tired decor especially in bedroom - we had first floor room facing road at the back so not very glamorous but to be expected for the very reasonable price

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable.
I arrived on a Thursday at 10:30pm after a long 15-hour day at work. They refused me a drink at the bar, saying that the bar was closed. They would not even allow me one to take to my room. With no vending machine, I had to make do with tap water to drink.

Location, pleasant staff
No stool by vanity mirror, radiators not working (room was not very cold though), hotel a bit dated (like most big hotels) but not an issue
7.0
Great view of Cardiff castle, everything was walking distance and I slept so peacefully, would 100% come again 😄
I noticed a few stains on the pillows, marks on wall and the worst part was that’s we had no hand wash to use in the bathroom!
7.0
Location, large room
An issue with our reservation and the manner in which it was handled by a member of staff was poor and her attitude was accusatory.

The staff were great and always receptive. The place was very clean. The whole place is about to undergo a well deserved redevelopment. I have not been there for about 20 years and it has changed little. The beds were very comfortable too.
The food although served with aplome and grace were really basic pub food from back in the day. A little overpriced for what I guess are frozen offerings, I apologize if they were not but that how they came across.

Great location, main attractions on walking distance.
Toilet flushing mechanism was defective. Flushed manually.
