Its central location makes it the perfect base for a visit to Buxton. All the staff we met were so friendly and helpful.

The lady on reception was really helpful during everything I needed and after checking out. The hotel was in a fantastic location, extremely comfortable and a wonderful breakfast.
More parking spaces would be nice.

The apartment had great views of Buxton and the hills. The main bedroom was a good size and the bed was very comfortable. It was extremely quiet. We liked the extra space and having a walk-in shower as well as a bath. The location of the hotel is very good and although it doesn’t have its own car park, parking the car was never a problem.
It was a shame that the bathroom wasn’t en suite, especially as it was next door. Despite its size, there was nowhere to put our toiletries bag so it ended up on the floor under the basin. The lounge needs a bit more furniture to make it cozy and the sofa wasn’t comfortable to sit on. The cooked breakfast was cold the first 2 mornings. Although what there was was much better on the last day they kept on running out of things so choice was even more limited. The restaurant was very short staffed. Reception was usually only staffed by 1 person so it could be very slow if someone was checking in and you wanted to pay for parking or collect your key.

Breakfast service a little slow, as later time although we weren't hurried. Worth waiting for.
Parking right outside, perfect, and very good value.

Location is fantastic. History of the hotel is well integrated. Flat is nice and large with two double beds.

Great location in the centre of town Staff were friendly and helpful.
An old hotel in need of some revamp but that will be a challenge given the age of the building.

Location is superb - good to walk to the large park just in front of the hotel.
Quite close to the central town area.
1. Breakfast menu is no longer available and no choice of fish dishes any more (kipper, haddock, smoked salmon etc - many choices when visited about 4 years ago)
2. No air conditioning - too hot to stay in the room even in the middle of June. I left the window completely open, but the room ambient could not be cooled down. At least, fan availability will be preferable.
8.0
the breakfast was lovely and the staff were very helpful it's location in the town is just perfect with the park and pavilion just a couple of minutes walk away and 5 minutes from all the bars and restaurants the town has to offer all of which are fantastic
dated décor the whole place just needs money throwing at it it looks like its not been updated since the 80's however i totally understand that it would probably cost several million pounds and who's got that sort of money nowadays

Room was lovely and very large. Bathroom was clean with plenty of towels and the bed was very comfortable.
The TV didn't work. The staff tried a different remote but still didn't work. Not a huge issue as only there one night

It met our needs, breakfast was a bit haphazard, the staff worked valiantly despite this, however Management, could have foreseen t(e breakfast Numbers, and stuffed accordingly

The oldness. Mary Queen connection. Large room, good view.
Furnishings grubby. No fridge. Staff untrained, sorry, that's how they felt. Breakfast difficult to order; not buffet.

The location of the hotel is perfect - right opposite the entrance to the Pavilion Gardens in Buxton, and within easy walk of shops and restaurants. We managed to park outside the hotel. The hotel shows its age in that some walls, floors and doorways are at slightly odd angles, but this just adds to the charm and individuality of the building. Staff were courteous and helpful, and the breakfast, eaten with views of the gardens, was excellent.

Great location
Was easy to find parking
Nice view over park and room was spacious
Hotel confirmed twin room but we were allocated a double.
Underwhelming breakfast. Asked for breakfast without mushrooms as hubby cannot abide them, it arrived with egg and bacon surrounded by mushrooms! Returned breakfast to kitchen but all they did was remove the mushrooms from plate (but didn't get them all !!) and the same food was returned to us. Really not impressed with that.
