Public areas are very nice indeed.
The room (room 22) was woefully disappointing. It overlooked the car park and we had a car bonnet parked within a metre of the window. It was the weekend of the British Grand Prix and the cars in the car park started engines running before 7.00am. The laundry cupboard was directly opposite our room . The room was north facing and very dark. The presence of a table approximately 60cm diameter and two small chairs appeared to have been placed to fulfill the description of a Luxury room but did nothing more than occupy what little floor space we had. For this we paid £426 for two nights, room only.

Lovely location
Room 1 directly above a function room that was in use, very noisy ! Didn't help that we were woken in the early hours by someone moving furniture around by dragging it across the room.

Loved the location, Wroxton is beautiful. Hotel has a great setting and easy to find. Finding the reception was a small adventure, the check in lady was attentive and welcoming. Nice big room and was very clean. Bar tender was very welcoming and helpful.
The building needs some love. The Hearty Hedgehog evening menu needs updating, perhaps closer to the other locations menu. Felt that the bathroom needed a refresh, toilet screamed when flushed and shower couldn't decide if it wanted to deliver hot water or cold.
Now the bit I really didn't like....
The breakfast staff really didn't want to be there, reluctantly set a table up after we stood there for 5 minutes. No explanation of what was on offer at the buffet. So started the second game of 'hide and seek'. When we found some breakfast items, they were cold and congealed, the sausages and bacon were leatherlike and unappetising.
Another 10 minutes passed and we had to ask for tea/coffee, the sigh could be heard around the room. Next challenge, get some toast, well that was a request to far!!. Cold toast, no butter, no knife and no series of clues for any other condiments. Game 3 of 'hide and seek' was on!
My partner was also aware that they were dressed inappropriately and their hair was long and not put up, being well versed in the etiquette in catering and waitressing, she was appalled.

Our room and the stairs together with the landing need cleaning heavily soiled and bucket catching drips from ceiling dome. Breakfast very good.
On arrival at 6pm the receptionist was really pushy about booking dinner. When we decided to eat at 8pm we were told the kitchen was closing at 7:30 so ate at a local pub.
Wine bar seemed irrelevant but very nice and it would of been good to be able to sit in there for a quiet drink and not ONLY wine purchased there. i.e. G & T or V & T from the bar.

The buildings were lovely and ideally placed for our purposes and the receptionist was very welcoming upon arrival.
The whole property is looking very tired and in need of a complete overhaul. The room we were in was rated as a superior double however it was poor. The carpet was stained, there were stains on the ceiling where there had obviously been a water leak from the room above and although it appeared clean there were cobwebs running along the ceiling over the bed which had clearly been there for quite some time. The sanitary wear was also showing signs of its age although clean.

accommodation is a little tired and dated. e.g outside windows needed repainting and decorations were a little tired in the bedrooms

Very pretty hotel in a good location for Banbury. Rooms were attractive and clean. Staff were very helpful
We found the details about breakfast unclear. The price of the continental breakfast was not displayed and we found the breakfast prices a little on the expensive side. The bedroom and bathroom on our first night was unheated and we found it rather chilly.

The food was excellent and the service very professional
The bed had a topper mattress on which had quite a clear divide in the middle which was uncomfortable if you lay on it
