Looks very beautiful and peaceful. Feels very safe. Restaurant is a great facility. Staff was very nice.
I would liked more water pressure in my shower and a shower head

Breakfast was delicious and the staff were super friendly and accommodating.
The room was comfortable and everything was superb.
Will definitely be back and would recommend it for anyone spending time in Paarl.
Great break away.
Breakfast was delicious but there could have been slightly more variety available.
Other than that everything was magnificent.
Amazing hotel. Great location too.
Thanks guys!!!!

Love the little extras. Super accomodating. Chocolates in the evening. Wine at arrival. Chocolate milk for my toddler. We didnt have to ask for anything because they were so on the ball that it was there even before we had to ask they thought of everything
Everything was great

Stunning place and everyone was so friendly. Great room, great food, we had an amazing time! We wished we could have stayed more.

Location brilliant! Staff went above and beyond. Room stunning very grateful for the upgrade.
Shocked that the dinner menu was the same as the lunch menu with limited choice and no specials. No Cheese selection as an alternative to dessert.

The hotel was really lovely and provided us with everything we needed. The staff were very attentive and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We did not want to leave! We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.
The food was wonderful but the menu was not compatible with our needs and lacked choice. Also, the in room dining menu, published in our room, was different to the actual food available which was disappointing.

Lovely old Cape Dutch hotel previously visited in a vineyard under the shadow of the Paarl with views over the vineyard and across to the mountains.
Breakfasts and the food in the restaurant were excellent and the staff were helpful and friendly (especially Nikki).
Load-shedding is a fact of life in South Africa so hotels need generators to maintain a supply of electricity.
Our 2 Legacy rooms for a 2 night stay were both the nearest (approx 20m) from the hotel’s generator which was very loud when operational at any time but particularly disruptive to sleep in the early morning and late at night.
One of the couples was moved to another room for their 2nd night (upgraded at no extra cost for which we were extremely grateful) but the other couple had to endure the noisy generator for a 2nd night (for which the staff were apologetic).
A 5 star hotel should be able to move their generator away from guest bedrooms.
If not possible guests booking rooms near the generator should be warned in advance and have the cost significantly discounted for the inconvenience or the bedrooms should not be sold.

Very scenic hotel with a beautiful pool area. We got upgraded for free which was fabulous. Would definitely get back. Good food and wines. Perfect for relaxation.
No gym, sometimes service at the restaurant could be quite slow.

Breakfast was great
Nothing really, i loved everything about the place

Very neat and charming property set in beautiful, quiet surroundings. Excellent location for walking, hiking and day trips in the area. Friendly staff, helpful and ready to fulfill any special requests. Wonderful breakfast!
The bathroom in our Duplex Suite needs attention to meet a five-star service.
Room is made up at an inconvenient time, at 2PM!

Nice location and history. Nice and well trained staff
Rooms too old and not clean. Room very close to generator while hotel was not full at all. Poor communication about electricity shutdown during the night. Pool not clean
4.5
Beautiful old style hotel with great views on Drakensteyn mountains.
although it’s a 5 star hotel there is no gym and maintenance in not as it should be. WiFi in the room was poor.

SO much! The staff, ambience, decor in the dining room especially. Breakfast on the stoep!
The only thing to improve on, is privacy. Rooms could do with half shutters/nets to prevent people walking past looking directly into your bedroom / lounge. Otherwise you have to keep the curtains closed and then miss out on the beautiful grounds.
4.5
Rooms are very spacious with separate lounge area, TV’s in both bedroom and lounge. Patio with gorgeous views of the Paarl mountains Bathroom is spacious, comfortable, and has underfloor heating.. so beautiful in Winter!
Special treats in the evening, very comfortable tea/ coffee facilities
I would love the swimming pool to be heated!
would be nice to have some entertainment/ musician in the evenings. The breakfast buffet was lacking…

The staff at this hotel is EXCEPTIONAL! I have travelled the world and I have NEVER experienced service and care like I did here. They were always friendly, attentive and helpful, from the reception staff, to the waiters to the cleaning staff. Our room was beautiful and bed comfortable. The food was amazing and Chef Kevin Grobler such a lovely person. We will definitely be back!
Our shower - you can see it was built a long time ago and is a bit weird. If they only attached a longer pipe to the wall connecting to the shower head, it would make a big difference.
3.5
The welcome by reception was excellent. way and beyond. The service in the breakfast room / dining room was extremely disappointing. It felt as though we were in 2 different places. It was hard to imagine that there would be such a difference in the level of service.
The dining room and Breakfast, subpar. Maybe equivalent to 3-star service
