The Royal Foundation of St. Katharine is truly an oasis in the heart of London. It's a rare gem offering peace and serenity amidst the bustle of the city. The beautiful garden and the profound silence make it feel like a hidden retreat—something you wouldn't expect to find in London.
The atmosphere is calm and relaxing, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The rooms are cozy, and the beds are wonderfully comfortable, ensuring a great night’s sleep. Although I didn’t try the breakfast, the delicious aroma of freshly toasted bread greeted me every morning, which was a lovely touch.
The location is slightly outside the city center, but it’s well-connected by buses just around the corner, making it easy to get wherever you need to go. My favorite spaces were the lounge and the garden. I spent several evenings in the lounge, doing some art, and it was so peaceful that it felt almost surreal.
If you’re looking for a tranquil place to unwind, I can’t recommend this place enough. It’s a haven of calm in the middle of a vibrant city.
The location is slightly outside the city center, which might not be ideal for some. However, this is easily solved by the excellent bus connections just around the corner, making it simple to get wherever you need to go.

Eigentlich gar nichts
Keine Kommunikation, Zimmer zu klein, Frühstück lässt zu wünschen übrig

We enjoyed the quality of the bed, the breakfast, the proximity to the metro station.
The Yurt Caffe was also very nice and the whole Residence very cosy.
Neighbourhood is not the best, but is good you are just 2 mins walk to the metro.
Room is small, but I guess this is what you get in London for a decent price.

Not much
Noise next to rail station, small room but advertised as delux double with pictures showing larger room than actual

I loved the grounds and the story of the foundation. It was so great meeting the Master, and hearing some of the history in the chapel. The room was simple and clean. I could’ve used a little stand for my suitcase, but everything else was just right for the stay.
The conference rooms were quite “conference roomy” - if that makes sense! Absolutely adequate, and nice looking, with gorgeous comfortable chairs and so on. I think because we were on a “retreat” - not your typical course, floor cushions and other forms of seating and gathering would’ve been amazing for our specific event, for meditations, group work and sharing stories.

The location was perfect for a short trip to the O2.
The bed was comfy and bedding was warm. Water was extremely hot.
Only two pillows. No tv. No USB sockets.

the location
I did not stay here !! i double booked for the same night and Booking .com did not advise me of my mistake so I paid for two expensive London Hotel rooms !!!
it would be far more assistance if Booking .com advise me that I had booked and paid for 2 rooms at different Hotels for the same night . My mistake yes as the emails with confirmation were sent to different a/c!!

They had ample parking and a gluten free breakfast area!

Very clean and quiet and the beds were very comfortable
We didn't know that you needed to authorise £300 on your card at check in for damages. It was not the most welcoming of starts.

The whole atmosphere of this venue was really comforting & friendly.
Booking in + any help we needed about local knowledge was all done with ease; we loved how close transport links were + the bonus extra of being able to park on site is a very welcome rarity in the city.
Breakfast was all great quality + varied for all dietary requirements, and the Yurt cafe in the grounds was super friendly & useful facility.

Very comfortable room, beautiful chapel, lovely lounge and great breakfast.

the peace, quiet and place to reflect
proximity of DLR
good breakfast
not so simple to find in the dark when driving in
7.0
location is great, DLR lines and 2 minutes to tube
wifi was bad. one of our rooms had a dirty sock. no toiletries. just hand wash and all in one bodywash+ shampoo, no moisturiser considering it’s winter. The second room
window is facing the hallway outside which is an issue B hence no ventilation. room was facing DLR so no view and caught a few staring eyes from street to our bedroom as we were on 1st floor. all apartments apparently view the DLR which is odd as you’d expect apartments to have courtyard view. breakfast is very limited choice, no English breakfast.
9.0
clean, calm, very good breakfast, great atmosphere, comfy beds, helpful staff. there is a nice walk to canary wharf where one can take the ferry to the center.
location was a bit out of the main stream of attractions but public transportation is very effective.
8.0
The gardens were lovely
The room size was too small, advertised as a superior king which was definitely questionable.
