Lovely position by the river. A reasonable sized bedroom with a large comfortable bed and a good en suite bathroom. We had a lovely view of the river but people walked close to the bedroom window so the nets were closed for privacy. Clean and tidy with a young staff who worked hard.
The restaurant was underwhelming with sticky table tops and mediocre food. As I have a food intolerance choice was very limited despite the staff doing their best to help. Breakfast was better.

Breakfast was lovely and a good choice and a lovely setting overlooking the river, the staff were very polite and extremely friendly.
We stayed two nights the first night a Thursday night everything was lovely, staff lovely and food lovely. However on our second visit on a Friday night the restaurant was overcrowded and extremely busy and no attention was given to those who were staying or who had booked. Once I complained the manager was very generous in her offers to resume the situation by offering us free items both from the evening and breakfast, so no complaints with how she handled the situation.

Breakfast very good. Found the Dinner menu lacking a fresh fish dish other than fish and chips.
The ventilation in the room was poor. We had to open the outer door to get ventilation during the night. The staff did advise us that the rooms are due for improvement and we suggested that they include a opening window.

Venue was brilliant.
Room cleanliness, booked a specific table for dinner and it then wasn't available.

The location is amazing, the food was delicious. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. The rooms were big and the beds comfortable.
We were in lodge 2 so not in the main building.
The buildings looked very shabby and damp from outside and the lock into the building was broken.
Everywhere needed painting and weeding.
The rooms had black mould on the windows and curtains and smelled damp.
We had a patio area but again the furniture was grotty and it was weedy etc .
If it was smarted up , I would highly recommend it.

Delightful

Nice location by the river and the outside covered terrace allows you to make the most of the view. Reasonable choice of food on the menu and the restaurant is nicely laid out so table are not too close together. Mostly acessible with few steps and these easy to navigate or avoid. Wildlife on the river was lovely to watch! Bed was comfortable
Room was tired and in need of an update especially the sofa bed which looked shabby. Bathroom was serviceable but far from luxurious and the room was a little noisy as the road is nearby. Drinks were expensive. Food at dinner was ok but one steak was tough and it was a little too costly to be good value for money.

Breakfast OK.
Bed comfortable.
No common area after 10pm. We were kicked out of bar. “Can’t have you nicking the produce” the member of staff joked badly.
Rooms shabby. No drawers to put clothes and insufficient hanging space. Walls paper thin.

Location is great, right on the river exe. Staff very good and dealt with issues we had
No fish and chips on the menu and other menu items not available because second fryer wasn't working. Also no tv reception in room 2 and not fixed when brought to staffs attention.

Beautiful setting by the river, large car park, lovely breakfast and spacious, well stocked rooms. The staff were all fantastic…So friendly and welcoming! The lady who served us at dinner (sorry I didn’t catch your name) was amazing!

Wi-fi good.
Nice sized room on ground floor with access to an outside area.
The room was very cold even though there was a heater provided. The bathroom was very tropical in complete contrast to the sleeping area. There was an unpleasant aroma, which can still be smelled on my luggage.
The room and outside area would benefit from some updating and finishing touches. It looked quite shabby with missing handles and water damaged bath panels. The lighting was quite dim despite there being lots of them.
We had dinner in the pub. Overpriced (and overcharged) for a mediocre meal. Very loud environment and poor service. Did not consider breakfast after a disappointing dinner.

The food was amazing as always! Lovely location, too. That's about it.
Customer service was very bad. No nice welcome. When having a meal, there was no customer service at all. You got ignored, empty plates and glasses got left on the table with staff just walking past with nothing in their hands. They would put the plates down and not ask if you would like sauces, any drinks, or even how your meal etc. They would literally slam plates down and then run away.
They had dropped items from other tables and just left them on the floor for someone to trip over. Staff shouting across to one another about stuff that was going wrong or they wanted a staff member to do something. It was really not acceptable how me and my partner were treated. Especially with the amount of money you pay plus we were staying guests.
Now for the room. The TV wouldn't work as it had no channels. My partner had to sort it out, which took 45 minutes. The room was very hot at night. The radiator wasn't even on, and the walls were basically made out of paper. You can hear everything and everyone in all the different rooms next door and even above. The bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. I didn't get to sleep unit 3am in the morning.
It's a real shame as when me and my partner first came here back in 2019, we loved it. But every time we have come back, it has gotten worse. Standards have dropped massively. It's doesn't feel great having to write this review, but something needs to change as the food is absolutely amazing! Unfortunately, we will no longer be returning customers anymore.
