In a perfect world, would have preferred a full cooked breakfast, but the continental breakfast provided was great. The pub itself is very pleasant, room was comfortable, modern and clean. Actually very good value for £

The layout of rooms and pub, the funny notices around encouraging good behaviour
Our bad luck that Monday is not a full menu day, the light meals were good, would have loved to sample the full menu

Excellent hum and vibe, very good atmosphere from friendly staff, and customers. The Inn is very well frequented by locals who are proud of it. Good food, inside and outside dining, excellent beer garden, loads of well kept different beers, wines and spirits and alcohol free options. Events, quizzes, community participation.

Really liked the stay. Simple things done really well, with real attention to detail, like home smoked cheese and home cooked ham. Good range of ciders and a very good atmosphere. A real local pub.
Could have stayed longer. There was a band playing in the garden tonight.

Very comfortable and pleasant stay. Staff were friendly & helpful. We had our evening meals there which were very good. Good value for money and good location for sightseeing.
4.3
The location was good because we wanted somewhere for a one night stay on our way from Kent to Cornwall. Although the property is on a busy crossroad, the room was at the back and quiet. The staff were friendly and helpful and we enjoyed the continental-style breakfast.
The room was on the small side but adequate for one night. We ate in the restaurant but found the evening menu somewhat restricted. However, what we did eat was good.

lovely staff and fabulous food
room right next to the boiler which sounded like a jumbo jet taking off at 4.17am

brilliant location, easy to find. very welcoming and homely. The staff were brilliant, nothing was to much trouble. Food in the evening was lovely and breakfast was just as good! highly recommended! thank you xx

Rooms were modern and clean. All staff very friendly. Evening meal a little pricey but very well cooked and presented.
No cooked breakfast let this place down a little. The continental breakfast was very nice. But fir the money they was charging for the room I would have expected a full English as an option. Having said that I would stay here again

Breakfast was excellent.
Location also excellent
Music coming from kitchen could have been a bit quieter. We got there about 6pm and it was quite loud until about 11pm when it was turned off.

The breakfast was delicious and plenty of it. The fresh strawberries and yoghurt was lovely.
We were very pleased with it all

Lovely cosy pub ,real ale 🍺, goid to see pub used for what it is a proper pub
On a personal note ,would like control of shower, as heat was preset ,and tele could be mounted on the other wall but that's my personal choice

A real countryside gem, a lively pub with a good restaurant backed up by an excellent continental breakfast the next morning. There was a large car park.
4.3
Quaint, historical inn with lots of ambiance and very friendly management and personnel. the rooms were super clean and comfortable with a great shower. Both the dinner and breakfast were delicious and the bar was packed with guests and (local?) visitors. A real English country stay. Can highly recommend a stay.
Cannot think of anything.

lovely pub with friendly staff and great food

Disappointed that Monday menus are “light bites” so had a wrap and some chips. Not substantial but good quality.
Plenty of room in the car park!
Room cleanliness and good shower.
Breakfast at 07.30 was appreciated.
Better communication about the reduced Monday menu on Booking.com would help - it is only made clear once a booking has been made.

Room lovely and clean facilities what was expecting. Staff friendly and helpful
Stairway to room awful smell, was very off putting suspect a mixture of damp, smoke and alcohol.
Would strongly suggest it be changed. Was a shame as let down the lovely rooms.
Breakfast was adequate but not outstanding
