Staff are so lovely and can’t do enough for you. Relaxed and actually feels like a 2nd home.
Rooms are beautiful and clean and food is fantastic.

Could have been lots we liked.......
To receive a message the night before we were due to stay telling us that we could only eat at there restaurant between 5-6pm (with no local restaurants closer than a 15 min drive) and that there would be a private party in the bar with live band till midnight was deeply poor customer service. To do so the day after full payment was taken, is ever poorer form.
Given the total disregard of our small group, we decided to stay elsewhere, where we were valued and looked after properly

Exceptionally helpful staff

Nearly everything was as expected and excellent. The rather bleak and uninviting external surroundings was a little daunting once inside - fantastic.

The Crossways is professionally run staff are al excellent , especially the waitresses and bar man in the restaurant . Also the catering manager who was very friendly.
Not applicable to crossways Inn , but weather could have been better .

Food was very good although limited menu on sunday evening would of liked to have tried one of the other options that was available on the saturday . Location off the beaten track off the main road very quiet nothing around the hotel so eating out would need to drive or get a taxi.
Not much choice on the Saturday night for evening meal time due to event in hotel. Room wasn't very clean dusty and rubbish behind bed from previous guests
4.2
The food was so awful and extremely over priced. The chef was quite aggressive with his remarks when I sent the food back due to it being inedible. Coffee machine was permanently broken. The breakfast area was not maintained through breakfast service each morning. I had to keep asking for hot water for a drink and milk. The fruit was the same fruit all week and had gone off.
Lack of lighting in rooms.
Lack of charging points in rooms by bed

Food was delicious, the bed was really comfy and the shower and bath were both top notch.
View was fantastic
Service was a mixed bag, the first night and following morning the staff seemed unhelpful and unwelcoming. We chose not to have our second evening meal in the hotel because of this. Staff on breakfast for our last day were very attentive however.
Room looked a little tired needed a repaint and reseal in bathroom.
Tea making facilities in room were dusty and dirty. one cup had already been used. The provisions were a little stingy. There was only really enough for a couple of cuppas per night.

They provided a room for me to meet a sister I have only just discovered so that we could meet privately.
Smelly bedroom that was not improved. The hotel gave this nasty smelling bedroom(107) to my niece and husband who would not complain! Sticky dinning tables. Not enough breakfast staff on last morning.

location was very remote but peaceful with plenty of countryside and great views.
Stairs to all floors.

Room was excellent , breakfast choice was excellent and food quality very good all in all an excellent stay even could be classed as a hidden gem even though it is a little bit off the beaten track, a really nice surprise.
4.2
the property was lovely and quiet
the property looked tired and is in need of some maintenance and updating
the standard of customer service varied throughout the trip. some staff were friendly but others slows and not very attentive.

Breakfast was ok but especially good with the cooked element. The supper exceeded our expectations with a great choice and some innovative dishes. The room and en suite filled our needs. Staff are lovely and very responsive.
It would have been nice to have had a lift, given the narrow staircase and having to carry cases up to the bedroom.

Beautiful hotel in a great location. Perfect for visiting nearby Wells and Glastonbury. Lots of parking and lovely breakfast with great variety of food. Lovely great big room.
Dinner in the restaurant. We booked table 5 days in advance but were not told about the large party booked in on the same evening. The lovely man on reception advised us of this when we checked in and said to arrive early as the large party were booked in for 7:30pm.we arrived at the restaurant at 6:30 but nobody came to take our order for about 15 to 20 minutes. We placed our order but were told a few minutes later that our food order would not be placed until after 8pm as the chef was busy preparing for the large party. We explained that this was why we had arrived early as advised and if we were left we wouldn't eat until about 2 hours after our arrival which we were not happy about. A lovely lady who I'm guessing was probably the restaurant manager did eventually manage to get our order through but it was still almost an hour before we got anything to eat and even then we never got the starter I ordered. Most disappointing.

Really good food and service. Appreciated the electric car charging. The staff were very accommodating of dietary requirements and changes of time of booked meals.
Children running up and down corridors made the floor in our room bounce!

Nice and quiet at nigh time, the building is lovely inside and doesn't have too many stairs to go up and down. The food was very good, in most hotels the food is ok but this was better than just ok, it stood out and was well above the usual.
We had a squeaky bed in one room and the overhead shower dripped on you when you used it on the wall riser shower head. Some of the younger staff seemed disinterested, the senior staff were very good though.

The room with the hot tub

Very lovely place, excellent value for money.
Had to ask for breakfast items to be replenished, but that was all.

rooms location
the noise by other customers; I tried to call reception from my mobile but it was closed downstairs in the was a large group of men who had been playing skittle now drinking in bar so I didn’t want to go down when I was changed for bed.
the noise was late at night and again first thing in the morning. i tried to call reception again in the morning but no joy.
when I came down for breakfast I complained to the gentleman who I think was the manager. He seemed to know who I was referring about the noise in the night and in the morning. But was not offered an apology. At breakfast a child was screeching and running around the buffet area informs of staff, I nearly spilt some of my hot beverage having to miss her this was all witnessed by the staff, but nothing was said.
Then when I was checking out the same gentleman checked me out, still no apology for the interruption and disturbance in my sleep. All I received was “You can go on your way”
For a hotel of this quality I expected better customer service and acknowledgment for disruption in my stay even if they could fix it. I am very disappointed.

The location was great and accessible, freshly cooked meals, great view and very cooperative staff. Thanks.
They could provide complimentary water bottles in the room.
4.2
Breakfast was adequate with a good choice of cereals and various cooked options.
A wedding reception was held on the night of arrival and our room was upgraded which was a nice gesture.
The evening meal was good.
Nothing to dislike
