All Good

Location, comfort, quiet, accessibility to Westonbirt Park
The bar and waiting staff appeared disinterested and their hospitality at best limited. They didn’t go out of their way to assist or support. Verging on rude.
The Chef and her assistant on the other hand excellent as were the cleaning staff.

Lovely Pub in a small but delightful village. The room was clean, bedding nice, coffee machine, all very nice. The restaurant was very good, both the evening meal and breakfast were fab. The beer was also good! Staff were friendly and helpful. Delightful place to stay.
Nothing really…

The food was excellent. Due to my circumstances of travelling alone, I was delighted with how compassionate and helpful the staff were. A great place to stay.
There was nothing that I would change at all for what I was expecting and needed.

Very clean, very friendly and helpful staff, breakfast was excellent
We were in the attic room and it was like a sauna and we couldn’t open the windows to cool the room down . Fan helped, but of course it was noisy. Not a great nights sleep

Wonderful country inn with exceptional service and great food.

Lovely old pub with good food and friendly staff. Ample private parking.
We stayed in the Home Guard room. There was only one coat hanger behind the door and a chest of drawers. As we stayed for 3 nights this was not ideal. Best not to open the only window in the bedroom as there was smell and noise coming from the kitchen and only a view over a flat roof. However we had a fan in the room which worked well.

The staff here are excellent - friendly, efficient and welcoming, both for dinner and breakfast. We knew we had booked a small room but it was very comfortable and there were good tea and coffee supplies (coffee machine) and bottles of water. Dinner was delicious and plenty of choices for breakfast - freshly cooked.
I was a little surprised at the cost of the vegetarian main courses at dinner. My experience as a vegetarian is that costs are usually slightly lower than main meat dishes. The portion wasn't large, to reflect the cost charged.

The roof top bedroom was in the pitched roof, although pretty not practical getting ready for a wedding ! But lovely room

Staff were great. Room was beautiful, clean and comfortable. Lovely country pub atmosphere. Food, both dinner and breakfast, was superb.
Nothing to dislike, really. Perhaps the 7:30am start for breakfast may be a little late for some business travellers, but it won't bother most people.

we thought the room was very small, breakfast wasn't amazing, no beans or black pudding, and had to ask for toast

Breakfast was amazing and the location was lovely and quiet.
Room was a bit too warm

Lovely place to stay in. Relaxed atmosphere, comfy seats and tables, nice bar area. Room was very nice, very comfy bed, very quiet, no traffic noise, solid walls, plenty of space, great coffee machine, bathroom nice and large and very clean. Food delicious, good choice of food from reasonable to pricey - varied menu, covering vegetarian choices. relaxed, casual, un-fussed, attentive when required, very polite staff, nothing too much trouble. Breakfast was lovely - good choice and freshly-cooked food - no complaints there for sure. Great choice, with closeness to Tetbury and surrounding areas and places to visit.
Not really anything was an issue - my shower did go cold halfway through, but I guess at that time a few other residents were competing for their share of the the hot water also. 😆. Wine and cider a bit pricey, but this seems to be the normal these days, post-covid anyway.

Cosy pub, friendly staff in a lovely old English village. Restaurant food great. Pizzas on the pizza terrace superb - the terrace is a great place to catch up with old friends.
4.5
Relaxed atmosphere and willingness to adjust to guests. (The separate parts of our extended family that stayed there used 5 rooms.) No fuss, or feeling of being hurried while we had breakfast as late as possible. (Starting shortly before the end of the declared breakfast slot meant we ended considerably after it). Dinner was good as well, with extra spoons provided (on request) so puddings could be shared.
I would have liked a chair in the bedroom. Howver, using a laptop for a few spare hours in the seats in the common areas was fine, and no-one fussed over me when there.

The location was perfect as we were looking for somewhere to stay overnight near my Dad who we were visiting. Great atmosphere, lovely food , staff very friendly & attentive.
We must mention Lin who served us our breakfast in the morning she is Very professional & passionate about her job , unfortunately on this morning another couple who were staying overnight had a dog that attacked lin as she tried to take their order for breakfast you could see that lin was very shaken by this & tried not to let it get in the way of serving us & the other guests , we hope lin gets the support she deserves over this matter from her boss .
Thank you for a lovely stay .
