Hidden away, secluded and very convenient to town! Extremely comfortable and clean.
Quite dark in the lounge so need lights on during the day, but there are plenty of lights!
Otherwise nothing to report.

The location was hard to find but when we finally found it it was tucked away down a corridor then through a metal gate into a typical cottage garden so very pretty. The cottage itself was amazing decorated to a very high standard, there was everything you could want there, dishwasher, washing machine, hairdryers in both rooms, tea, coffee, preserves, milk in the fridge, towels provided, full bottles of shampoo in the bathroom! Just pack your clothes!
Nothing to do with cottage or host.
Sunday morning we heard a dog yelping in pain nearby and a man using F****** in ever other word totally furious with his dog who we thought had relieved itself in his shoe, this went on for 5 mins then there was crashing and we heard no more, no barking the rest of the stay, it did upset my friend and I greatly.
The only other thing is Saturday night music till 2am which kept my friend awake but as I am hard of hearing I never heard a thing!

Host was helpful, very clean, all the amenities you need and more!
No real parking nearby, but permit provided. Next door was quite noisy the morning we were leaving. Lots of shouting and dog barking.

Everything!. Alan was incredible, shared his local knowledge, and provided us all the information that we required for our stay. The cottage was Super! Very comfortable, cosy, and all that we needed for our stay was available. The locals were accepting and very friendly. We loved Ruthin.

What a lovely cottage. Clearly a high level of attention to detail provided us with a comfortable, clean and cosy stay.
So well styled with plenty of character, a truly wonderful cottage to relax and unwind in.
We shall be booking again!

A delightful cottage, beautifully restored and well equipped.
Nothing at all.

Alan was the naciest host ever, gave us the greatest recommendations, instructions for the house and was available during our stay to answer any questions. When we got there he had already lit the fire and had hitted up the water. The White Horse Restaurant was amazing. We'll definitely go back to this lovely little town. The nice people we met around in Wales made a difference in our short trip.

A welcoming, inviting, secretive gem of a place. The property catered for all our needs, above and beyond, every item thoughtfully considered to ensure a very welcome stay. Comfortable beds, great kitchen facilities, even down to the delightful squirrel guest towels in the double bedroom. Comfy bedding. We slept so well. Beautiful tended front garden. The books on the stair shelf were fab, lovely items of furniture, detailed booklets of things to do. And a parking permit too. We absolutely lucked in finding this jewel in Ruthin.

Private, quiet and cosy.
The host laid on a welcome pack of milk, bread, orange juice, eggs and butter.
Coffee and tea provided.
Heating was on, and wood burner was burning for our arrival.
Our host was knowledgeable about the area, and chatted us through how to use the hob and oven.

The cottage is in the heart of the town but is in its own oasis of peace. the attention to detail in the cottage is amazing. Alan, the owner has thought of everything. full marks for having a magnification mirror - a must for someone with sight like mine! the host was just perfect. excellent communications leading up to our stay. he met us on arrival and showed us how everything worked but then left us alone unless we needed him! the perfect host.

The property was very comfortable and well fitted out with lots of homely touches. It felt like a home rather than a rental. A good base for the area. The host made every effort to ensure we had everything we needed.

Great location.
Excellent communication with the owner who provided us with great recommendations.

central location (although see issue with noise as a result), most facilities provided, characterful.
Uncomfortable mattress
dirty pillows so bad they stunk
horrendous noise from pub/nightclub next door until 2am - this was not just background noise, it was so bad you might as well have been there. the pub has a 2.30am license every weekend so likely to be a normal issue and should be highlighted in property info.
host sends excessive messages about rules and requests that are really not necessary including asking whether we had left yet even before check out time.

Lovely secluded place lovely garden courtyard just as described in photos

Oh, what a beautiful cottage on the most wonderful street! The entrance to Ruthin Castle is 100 metres down the road, and the centre of town is about 20 metres away in the other direction. Taking breakfast everyday outside in the courtyard was a very pleasant treat, too!

Castle Cottage is such a gem, nestled away off the prettiest street in Ruthin. Alan made us feel well and truly welcome. The cottage is gorgeous with such pretty features and in a great location for exploring North Wales. We were blessed with good weather so made the most of having breakfast al fresco in the beautiful courtyard garden.
Everything was perfect, we loved it!

Alan the owner couldn’t do enough to help, and genuinely seems to want you to have the best time you can. It was very clean, with lots of thoughtful touches. Plenty of firewood, Netflix and WiFi, cooking equipment, even some welcome food and drink items.
The shower was temperamental, Alan already had a new one waiting to be fitted.

A thoroughly enjoyable stay in a lovely cottage, great communication and support from the owner.

The hosts Alan and Anne were exceptional, incredibly welcoming and they could not have done more to make our stay more comfortable. The cottage is in a lovely private spot yet on the door step of Ruthin Castle and a stones throw to pubs and facilities. The cottage is a little treasure and very clean and cosy, we very much look forward to visiting Ruthin again in the future and staying in this lovely cottage once more. Thanks again Alan :)

Host was excellent even before arrival with lots of useful info. The cottage is very pretty and cosy with a log fire. The attention to detail is everywhere, arrival instructions, the decor and with the well stocked kitchen and bathroom. The town is nice too, lots of restaurants and pubs.
Great weekend and would definitely recommend.
