facilities fabulous but no light in the windowless ensuite bathroom and staff unable to resolve changing the light bulb over the two nights that we stayed
poor customer care

Location was great and value for the money.
Hot water in the shower was not working and had to manage with just room temperate water.

Staff where super friendly, helpful & warm. A real community feel to the hostel which is perfect for us.
One improvement good be a small shelf for top bunks, that would be sooooooo helpful.

Good location
Friendly welcome at reception on arrival
We were woken by a group of noisy, swearing, drunk guests several times between 01:00 and 03:30 who were outside our room and even tried coming into our room numerous times as they couldn’t remember which was their room. They woke us again at 06:45 and continued shouting and swearing at each other as they reminisced about their previous evening as they were getting ready to leave.
The mattress was very thin and uncomfortable. The room and en-suite are ready for maintenance now it’s the end of the season.

The view on the morning was amazing if you walked up the hill, only an hour away from where we was going anyway
It was a small room & the beds were not comfortable at all. We were expecting at least a double bunk bed as we are a couple with kids & me & my partner had to sleep in separate single bunk beds.
We were glad it was just one night as none of us slept, later arrivers were also being loud so that kept us awake too.
Kids were worried about going the toilet with people walking up & down corridor.
Staff were friendly, we understand it was a hostel place but it would of been better if we at least had a double bed in there considering we reserved a family room

. Location wonderfull and staff couldn't do enough for us.
.As we arrived late the facilities weren't spotless..i.e loos a little untidy..the beds had plastic covers on so any time anyone moved when asleep it woke everyone else up. So not a great night's sleep

lovely location. old railway shed, done out lovely. kids were happy it was near the train station so they could see the trains and a games room. staff were friendly. food was great and the a child eats free with every adult breakfast. i would like to come back and do some activities next time
rooms were warm.

Location was fantastic for access to cycling routes and the moor. Staff friendly and helpful. Great games rooms for kids. Would stay again but would avoid during very wam weather due to lack of ventilation in rooms.
Kitchen small and some key utensils missing..eg medium size saucepans for larger groups, spatula, salad bowls.
Two large noisy groups while we were there dominated at mealtimes and were noisy at night. Also kids intimidated by them so it slightly spoilt our stay. I understand the desire and need to take groups but felt that it spoilt the family atmosphere. We were expecting other families, backpackers or groups of walkers and outdoor enthuiasts, not large student and sporting clubs.
Finally rooms were way too hot and stuffy. Restrictions on opening windows meant virtually no air at night. Very uncomfortable and fans didn't help much. Would avoid booking again in hot weather.

nice big kitchen with all the equipment you need.
Stuffy rooms with windows you can’t open all the way.

Location, space to lock bikes, price, breakfast.
Noise.
Although not the fault of the hostel, there were small children running up and down the corridors screaming until late at night.
People either in the games room or dining area jumping and banging so hard the floor was shaking.
We were above the kitchen area so when the chef came in it became noisy again, especially at 05:30 when the extractor fans were switched on.

I love the location, atmosphere and the railway station next to it. A table in the room would be great.
There was no table in the room and most of equipment in the game room wasn't working.

The room and bathroom VERY clean. The breakfast cooked by the lady chef was excellent. Location perfect for train and bus.
