Great position
Basic accommodation. Small room
4.1
Very clean room and quiet. Bed and pillows really comfortable. Rainfall shower was great. Room wasn't serviced during the stay which in a way was nice so could relax and not feel needed to tidy it every day! Was great to have poached eggs as main egg option for hot breakfast. For those with dogs it is a dog friendly hotel but the rooms had no signs that dogs had been in them. Was exceptional value for money and would definitely go back.
There was no welcome pack in the room which would have been helpful. Didn't realise there were two exits if wanted to go out early on morning but manager was on hand to help when wanted to go out early. Buffet breakfast good idea but hot breakfast was cool some mornings. Would have liked more options for cereals e.g. muesli would have been a nice option. A breakfast menu would be helpful too as not sure what other options there were e.g. vegetarian sausages, different egg options.

Breakfast was lovely, lots of choices and full English also really good.
Staff were very friendly and helpful,
Room was spacious and clean. Perfect after a day walking.
Being very picky, the shower was a bit low if you are not virtually challenged 🤪

Amazing breakfast and stylish rooms
Should have a more varied menu in the restaurant

Breakfast was really good.
Nothing.

Accommodation was very cold, dirty and very worn

Very good breakfast buffet, plentiful and varied. Well suited for the village and for local walks.
Slightly souless place. Efficient but unengaging reception which put us off eating or drinking there,in the evening.

i wasn't told the pass code for the guest annexe by the chap that welcomed me so had to ask another guest

Booked a double room but we were then given a cottage which was great. Sadly we were only there for 1 night but it was lovely.
Ate in the pub. Both had pizza. Huge, tasty. Only needed one between us really.
Breakfast was buffet style, good choice and all piping hot.
Dog friendly throughout.
Nothing to dislike.
4.1
Good breakfast, very friendly staff, great location.
Limited car parking space.

Centrally located
Felt it was all quite basic and functional. Rooms not serviced during stay, paper cups in room, tiny toiletries for 3 night stay. No door mat on entering from outside so couldn’t help but walk mess and water in during bad weather. Breakfast was pretty basic with make your our tea from a box of pg tips and make your own toast from a bag of Tesco sliced white bread which everyone had reached into.

Great location! Breakfast was buffet style and very tasty.
The bed in the room was so creaky that any slight movement woke everyone up! Also there was a skylight in the room with no option to cover it so the room was very light all night.

Very helpful staff...
Excellent location
Great breakfast 😋 A good menu catering for all.
Good selection of beer 🍺
Wide selection of accommodation for solo, couples, and families. Good quality towels and bed linen ♥️
Loads to see and do in the area, so you will be kept busy.
The dungeon bedroom is beautiful, but there is no electric blind for this sky light window, unfortunately.
Maid Marion window blind is not quite big enough and could do with some curtains as this room gets the early morning sun. The window faces the street with a bus stop opposite because of the size of the window and street view. The window could do with a privacy glazed film over the bottom foot/foot and a half.
Blinds on windows very often still need a curtain just to keep the light out, especially on summer mornings 🌄

Perfect location. Lovely room. Hot cooked breakfast lots of choice.Very friendly. Dog friendly too
Nothing it was perfect

Deluxe room with large bathroom and plenty of space. Had a couple of problems, including a faulty room lock, but these were resolved satisfactorily and we were given a free bottle of wine with our dinner one evening. Nice to have double USB charging points on both sides of the bed.
The faulty lock should have been changed before as it was a H&S risk. The cups at breakfast were often sticky or had tide marks inside and the tables were not cleaned after diners left. We were moved to a different room while the lock was changed where the chest of drawers had socks and tights left inside, and a piece of cake on the floor behind it. The hairdrier socket was miles away from the mirror so something had to be unplugged to use it. The smaller room would have much too tiny for a long stay with large suitcases, so glad we hadn't booked it.

I asked for a double room but was provided with a family room so beds took up all the space. Almost no hanging space.
Breakfast. Limited time frame for breakfast (one hour) but despite this cooked food kept heated looked unappetizing. No staff in the dining room on my first morning. Cutlery very scratched and old. Risk of burning hand when helping myself to breakfast items because of hot spoon left in food and low food cover. Hearing staff complain about other staff. Staff were helpful though when I requested scrambled egg rather than the overcooked cold eggs which were on display.

We were upgraded to a cottage, which was great. The pub had a busy but nice atmosphere. The food was nice. The location was great for visiting the peaks.
It wasn't made clear when we ordered food that the kitchen shut at 8 pm, so when we wanted deserts, we were told no. Even a request for ice cream was refused.
4.1
Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely clean comfortable room. Ticked all the boxes.

Fantastic place for a stay in the Peaks.
Friendly staff and great service.
Pub grub menu is perfect - good value for money too.
Lovely atmosphere.
Quiet, clean room with everything we needed.
Our room was basically great for the cost of one night. However, the mattress was awful, and could do with replacing. The towels were hard (not sure how they're being washed) and it wasn't a pleasant experience getting out of the shower to a hard towel. The shower all of a sudden ran scolding hot whist in it. Scary! Paper cups for drinks in rooms is a bit unsustainable.

Large, very comfortable room. Great food..you won't leave this hotel feeling hungry. Dog friendly.
4.1
Comfortable & friendly in lovely little village.
Hot water and shower could be better, but ok. A bathroom mirror would be useful.
4.1
Location - perfect for our trip.
Staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was very nice.
The switch to the only light in the main room was next to the door, playing hide and seek in the dark with the furniture on the way back to the bed as no bedside lamp which would have been helpful

Room was tastefully decorated, comfortable and clean. Check in was quick and easy. Staff were friendly
Breakfast is served between 8-9am. We were downstairs at 8.35am and there was very little left. Some items had run out completely. The large Velux window in our room did not have any blind therefore the room starting getting light from around 4.45am

Breakfast was a delicious buffet fry up but small batch so everything was extra tasty. There was also yoghurts and fruit so all in all, excellent
Staff, such as Donald, were all very friendly and welcoming.
Dog friendly
Pub showed football and had a great selection off beers (recommend the Salt session pale)
Bed was comfortable and shower was hot and powerful
Parking
Location is also excellent for anyone walking the peaks
No complimentary foot massages after long walks

Location was perfect, good size room and clean bathroom
breakfast was average
4.1
Great location, comfortable bed, big room and bathroom with great walk in shower. Excellent home cooked buffet breakfast and friendly staff, especially the young lad who works behind the bar.
The hotel rooms are equipped for a 2 night stay, however we were there for 5 nights and it was quite disappointing to learn there was no housekeeping for 5night stay and the floor and bathroom got quite dirty and the bins were full. Also there is a lack of storage in the room, with no drawers or dressing table and only has a small clothes rail. We would also recommend some hooks on the back of the door to hang coats on.
4.1
Good breakfast, staff always helpful, comfy bed, good-sized room, free, convenient parking.
The only slightly weird thing was the heating was on all night. This made us too hot at night which we put down to the excellent bedding: but then I realised the radiator was on at 3am, at which point we started turning it off at bedtime. Still - better than being too cold!
4.1
newly renovated, beautiful room.
staff were a bit cold and unwelcoming.
