Great location in lovely village with several interesting attractions within walking distance. Very spacious family room in old cottage building with lovely outdoor seating area. Food in the attached public house was very good and reasonably priced.

Rooms have been revamped since last visit and are a vast improvement, beds are super comfy,Staff were great and the breakfast was superb .
The beers in the pub are gorgeous
No internet in the rooms and phone signal is poor so do any surfing in the pub
3.8
Nice room, clean and comfortable. Friendly enough staff.
Only 1 accessible plug in the room that made a disconcerting buzzing noise when in use.
Hairdryer didn't work.
Wifi was inconsistent - when I book a hotel with wifi I expect its own wifi and NOT the cloud.
Nobody thought to warn me on the 2nd day of my booking that the pub kitchen was going to be closed all day for a wedding that I can only assume was pre-planned and therefore known about.
The meal I did have the night before was below average quality.
Small things but kinda let down what was supposed to be a nice few days off.

I stayed here just before the refurb, and although the staff and location at that time were great, the rooms were tired. T
It's now plush and comfortable, and I was surprised more people weren't staying. The bar offers a good selection of drinks.
It was a shame that when we turned up for breakfast (which to be fair we hadn't booked, but was advertised) it wasnt on due to lack of demand.

stunning location, spotless room, friendly and professional staff, tasty food, excellent value overall

Location.
It’s a bit care worn in places, could do with a bit of updating.
3.8
Nice location, really quiet, good room size, car parking onsite, clean
Payed for a family room and was allocated a double no offer of refund of difference in price, minimal tea/sugar for making drinks, confusing set up, hotel rooms are over the road from the pub itself and no signs to guide you, messaged the property before our stay and never received a reply.
3.8
convenience of situation in an historic village.
in my room - the toilet seat was loose and slipping from its fixing and could prove dangerous for some guests, the walls had mould which I appreciate was an outside wall but continuous maintenance or dry lining would negate this problem, the room door lock had a screw loose and problematic.

we enjoyed a very pleasant meal and the staff were friendly. The shower curtain was clean
The condition of the room was poor in many ways.We were unable to open the windows. The bathroom had mould in some of the wall tile grouting and around the bath, the strip light was missing from above the mirror
3.8
The cosyness of the property and room
3.8
Staff welcome always very good
Food was disappointing as fish was overcooked, have had better food here before
3.8
The Staff are very welcoming and friendly nothing too much trouble.
Dripping toilet

location and room was very nice and ideal as was working away.
it smelt like someone was smoking in one of the rooms, I had assumed all rooms were non smoking these days, but the corridor stunk and the smell seeped into my room which was disgusting.

Smashing place, always make it our 1st choice when visiting Sheffield. Comfortable & clean, the most important issues to us. Staff great & food good too BUT please return to decent coffee for breaky, NOT instant rubbish!!
Instant coffee for breaky as already mentioned, not sure why the real stuff was done away with. Clearly, I like a proper coffee early!!!

Particularly liked the manager. Jack, I think. Good company, good service
Room was basic, but it was a very comfortable bed and had a good night's sleep

Everything
My stay was too short

The staff were great especially Meg who advised us on where to go locally.
The beer gardens were really good when the sun shines.
The car parks were useful and large enough.
The urinal in the gents toilet was out of order for the two days we stayed at this facility so only one other place to wee which was for one person at a time.
The locks on the doors in the ladies toilet did not work.
There was not any local information on what places of interest were local to the hotel.
3.8
Stayed nany times, it's a great place
Wifi access would be appreciated

We had a spacious warm, clean room with large bathroom in a cottage annex over the road from the pub. The breakfast was served very attentively in a comfortable dining room in the back of the pub. Excellent value.
The evening meal in the bar wasn’t too tasty. Our table needed a wipe and other tables needed clearing.
3.8
Friendliness of staff, location.
One room had a strange and unpleasant smell, the other had some ants in the bathroom.
