Cleanliness room. Balcony. Comfy bed. Plenty soft white towels. Friendly staff especially at breakfast. portable air con in room. Poached eggs for breakfast..
Bus outside £2 fare to Sheffield. Some lovely walks in village.
Nice choice of evening meals although largely pre
Cooked and heated.
Well kept grounds with plenty of seating inside and out.
Bedside lamp broken at the glass base. Someone had tried to glue but came off. Put me at risk.told staff who removed but no replacement.
Cooked breakfast except for poached eggs pre cooked and then heated. Made bacon etc dry and unappetising.
Breakfast cereal consisted choice of 3 variety packs. No fruit or yogurt ot juice.
Macerator made loud groaning noise as probably expected and heard when residents also using WC. In other 3 rooms. However the smell was awful and a quick in and out for showering.

Wonderful redecoration, probably not charging enough for the stay.
Possibly new to the catering business and still learning on the job, hence the price. The breakfast menu offered to guests, on the room literature didn’t match up with the service downstairs? Perhaps in future there should be a breakfast table with juice, cereal and bread Etc. ?

The room was cosy and comfortable. Shower worked well. Tea and coffee available in room. The room (room 3) had a good sized balcony, which would be good to use in warmer weather.
Room quite small. Good sized TV in the room - had many channels but, unfortunately, not the one channel we wanted to use BBC1. We did report this in the morning, so hopefully it will be re-tuned for future guests. My breakfast choice of a bacon sandwich wasn't a good choice - streaky bacon, so rather fatty, not much of it, and the bread was rather limp - it didn’t look very inviting! My husband had the full English and that was fine.

The restaurant was ok
The rooms were cold. The showers didn’t drain properly. The door from the rooms into the restaurant were locked one morning. Whilst there was a fire escape if the fire had been at that end we would have been trapped. One of the waiters was nonchalant to excess.

Compact but clean, tidy and nicely decorated room.
The bathroom lighting could be improved either by adding ceiling spotlights or a light up mirror.
Also, somewhere to hang wet towels would be an advantage.

The room was comfy and clean. It was also full of character. The food was great with a decent menu. Staff were really helpful and attentive.
The collection of so much personal detail to log into wifi (I didn't bother).

Very easy to find. Breakfast was good but the service seemed a bit disorganized.
A bit more choice of breakfast starters e..g. fruit

Lovely couple of nights spent in this pub. Rooms were clean with really comfortable beds. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent and plentiful. Would thoroughly recommend a stay here.
Nothing negative at all.

Good sized room, comfy bed, food was good, both the evening meal and the breakfast.Friendly staff
Attention to detail lacking in the cleaning department. Room very dusty and shower cubicle not clean. Instructions for the coffee machine would be useful in the guests pack along with bottle of water on the refreshments tray.
On a point not directly related to quality of out stay there was a quiz night on in the bar in the evening. The boy running it was pretty useless( would help if he could read) and although we didn't participate thought it was unfair that his mates who were sitting up the top end near us away from the rest of the quizzers happened to win....maybe the fact he was helping them out and also didn't actually check anybody answers helped!!! Glad we weren't taking part or would have been fuming Anyway, the main point for us was the barman was so busy messing about with these mates too he got our drinks order wrong and also tried to charge us for a bottle of wine instead of just a glass! Also on the pricing front £4 for what amounted to 1 full slice of bread and butter with the evening meal was rather extortionate! Just a couple of points which slightly lowered the rating for us

Very friendly, helpful staff .
Everything very clean and comfortable .
It was quiet at night despite being on a main road
We used the out of hours access (after 11.30 at night). It managed it OK but suggest it could be improved with better lighting

Schitterend uitzicht, rustige omgeving.
Eten & drinken kun je heel goed beneden in het restaurant of aan de bar.

Stayed 2 nights over a busy Friday and Saturday bank holiday. Slightly noisy on Saturday night as we slept very early whilst the pub was still open but not excessively. Staff were great and very accommodating, especially to my 92 year old mum. The place was exceptionally clean and newly decorated. The car park was large and free with many spaces still available at 9pm on a Saturday night.

the room was lovely; it had a balcony that was quite comfy with a view over the street. it is a beautiful pub which is very dog friendly.
the staff was absolutely great!
The food (Lunch dinner and breakfast) is absolutely great
We had the dog in our room in his basket, and he did spend most of the time sitting on the balcony watching the world go by :)
Carpark is big and safe and the outside beer garden is lovely.
We will stay here again as we found this part of the country beautiful and this hotel one of the best we stayed in so far!
The assistant manager sitting with his feet on a chair had to check us in, was sloppy and forgot to charge us for lunch and the 20 pound for the dog, we had to remind the evening manager!
He was happy as there was an open bill that he didn't know who it belonged to!
That was the only negative, the rest of the staff was absolutely golden! nothing to fault!!

Great location with a lovely pub. Food was excellent and the staff were wonderful friendly and attentive. The staff went out of their way to allow us to have breakfast early on Sunday so we could get away to a specific event.
Room was exceptionally hot and an awful green fire exit light lit up the whole room which was a bit annoying.

You could do with having a few more charging points & also a mini drinks fridge to put our cans of soft drink in & a pint of milk as those little milk things aren’t big enough..apart from that it was a perfect room 👍🏼😃
As in previous box 👍🏼

Welcoming, clean and comfortable. Very dog friendly which is what we needed.
I did enjoy breakfast but it would have been nice to have the option to have a basic buffet with cereals, juice etc and not just the cooked option. Simple toast and jam would be good.

Great meal. Our room was nice, spacious and included a good coffee machine. Comfy bed.
Bar lacked snacks of any kind, a few cobwebs hanging from the tallest beams in our room.

Hotel is newly refurbished, very clean. Bed was very comfortable and room was well stocked with tea/coffee and bathroom well stocked with shower gel/shampoo/lotion/hand wash.
Bar/hotel staff were all very welcoming and friendly.
Hotel was on a good location, only a 20 minute drive from Sheffield city centre. Location was peaceful.
Staff often seemed a little unsure about things, e.g what drinks they had to offer behind the bar, and as the hotel part is relatively new (I think!) staff seemed unsure of procedures E.g checking in and out. We were given a different breakfast menu in the hotel room to what we were offered downstairs, and even then it seemed like the chef potentially wasn’t used to breakfast customers.

Firstly, the location. A couple of minutes drive from the Peak District National Park, and close to Sheffield, in a very pretty, quiet village.
Plenty of parking around the side and back of the hotel.
The recent renovation was clear to see. We were quickly checked in, and our room was perfect. Large and light, with high vaulted ceiling, very comfortable bed, tea and proper coffee making facilities. Soap and shampoo in the shower room. Iron and hairdryer in the wardrobe. Everything was spotless. We had a delicious evening meal and drink in the bar/restaurant downstairs. Everyone was polite and friendly. It was the perfect getaway. We would happily return.
Sadly there was an issue with the kitchen the following morning, so we didn’t get breakfast which was included. But the chap who checked us out happily sorted a discount to make up for this ( we popped up the road to the Bird Cafe instead). Next time we look forward to having breakfast too.
