Amazing base camp!

Everything was great! Good food, good drinks, amazing cocktails, lovely sauna and hot tub. Great place to lounge with your group as you plan the rest of the trip/regroup

J'ai rarement vu un accueil aussi chaleureux. Le personnel est adorable et les équipements sont géniaux, il y a aussi des rideaux autour des lits en dortoir pour être vraiment plus tranquille

Un bel soggiorno, ottimo prezzo con personale gentile e accogliente!

Reception accogliente, stanza piccola ma perfetta per quattro persone con un letto matrimoniale e due letti a castello. Presente anche una cucina (aperta fino le 22) con circa 8-10 posti a sedere, dove abbiamo avuto la possibilità di cucinare qualcosa per cena e per la colazione della mattina dopo.

Niente. Tutto è stato perfetto.

Świetny pobyt, do jak najszybszego powtórzenia

Super miejsce, zwłaszcza strefa chillu. Po całym dniu podróży można zrelaksować się w jacuzzi oraz saunie. Obiekt posiada darmowe suszarki na ubrania oraz buty co jest mocnym plusem.

Sehr modern eingerichtet und sauber. Wirkt sehe familiär und man kann über das Hostel auch touren buchen. Auch gut, wenn man länger in Island verweilt um einen Rasttag bei schlechtem Wetter einzulegen, wegen dem Whirlpool und der Sauna.

Wonderful place! Excellent value, especially in Iceland. Loved the family feel of the place!

Perfect location for any adventure. Super super clean and well thought out. Spacious bunk and warm down comforter. The staff were very friendly. The restaurant was delicious.

Lovely stay!

We stopped at Midgard Base Camp for one night only and will remember this place, mostly because of an amazing staff that helped us plan out the day and see our first northern lights! If we can come back to Iceland, we will definitely stay here again! Perfect place to wash clothes and dry hiking shoes as well.

Sehr herzliche Menschen in einem schönen Hostel

- sehr sehr nettes Personal, man hat total gemerkt wie bemüht die Leute um unser Wohlbefinden waren - es gab sowohl eine Küche als auch ein Restaurant, sodass jeder seine Reise so gestalten kann wie er mag. Es gab also keinen Zwang im Restaurant zu essen - Abendessen im Restaurant sehr lecker - ausreichend großes Frühstücksbuffet - sowohl geteilte Zimmer (eben ein Hostel) als auch einzelne Zimmer

Really enjoyed the location, the atmosphere and the facilities.

Great location on the Southern part of Iceland and opens up the area for extended trip into southern region. Food was lovely, clean. Really enjoyed the hot tub and meeting others

Had a wonderful one night stay, would definitely stay here again and highly recommend to other families looking for host

Fun community atmosphere, friendly staff, great restaurant. Laundry facilities and rooftop hot tub/sauna were special amenities.

Great place to stay, especially for groups

The service upon arrival was really warming. The whole camp exceeded my expectations as I found out clothes and boot dryers were provided as standard after having an extremely wet day hiking in the rain! The room was cozy, shower was nice and warm, and the communal areas are modern, cozy, and had a plethora of family games to be played. Great place to stay!

Bed was slightly firm (personal preference), and the walls were quite thin

Chill atmosphere and great services at a fair price

Lovely atmosphere, awesome bath on the rooftop, car charging point, friendly staff, easily reachable by car. We stayed in a private room with bathroom.

Very Good and a beautiful structure.

A beautiful structure, with a very good restaurant attached. possibility of taking a sauna and a hot bath outside. The waitress, a very cute and charming girl!

I recomend this hostel wholeheartedly

Best hostel facilities ever, neat and functional, quiet dormitory doors, excelent privacy curtains in dormitories, plenty of clean bathrooms and toilets, well equipped nice little guest kitchen, hoe driers, professional drier for wet hiking cloths, nice Bar and Restaurant on premisses, we've enjoyed a live performance on the first evening, supermarket 5 minutes walk... (They have family rooms too)

Très bon endroit, très propre

Les salons confortables, la propreté, les dortoirs avec rideaux... Gros points positifs les grandes douches, de quoi sécher le linge. Mention spéciale au personnel sympa, au bain chaud, au sauna et au café à volonté. Excellent rapport qualité prix 👍

Everything you need to be home away from home for outdoor adventurers

Midgard was one of the primary highlights of our visit to Iceland! All the staff was so helpful and made us feel very welcome. The sauna and hottub were an awesome perk to enjoy at the end of the day. The boot warming and laundry was a lifesaver after a wet day out. The on site restaurant made some of the best food we had in Iceland, and we loved hanging out in the lounging area in the evenings to play their board games. We ended up coming back to stay another night and booked one of their amazing tours up Thorsmork, which was an unforgettable experience. Rooms were clean and simple and all had fantastic views of the area. The shared bathrooms and spaces were also well maintained. Having the option to add breakfast to the stay was also nice.

There's nothing that Midgard can do about the other guests, but both nights there were some louder guests we could hear well past 10pm each night walking the upstairs, in the hottub, and in their rooms. Some were not as considerate about talking volume and closing doors in the later hours.

A clean room with comfortable beds in a lovely setting.

-Great views of the countryside from Room 5 (end unit with large windows on two sides). -Access to a community W/D (you need to buy tokens). Although the dryer limits you to 35 minutes, we didn’t need to pay for another cycle because we just hung up the clothes on the hangers provided and everything was nice and dry the next morning. -Separate reading lights were convenient. -The shower had a shelf for toiletries (not all of our accommodations on the Ring Road did).

The room was hot. They do provide a fan and suggest that you open the window, but only one window opened and just a crack. I guess this was the downside of having so many windows—greenhouse effect! It would be great in colder weather.

Easy check in. Big clean room with ensuite bathroom. Simply decorated but had a fan which I liked.

this guesthouse is so well organised! there is everything you need when you are in holidays. (even the clothes driers!) the little sauna/jacuzzi terrace is super cute, with a nice view on the country side. and it closes late! Very good value for money We got great touristic advice from the reception.

Great location. Relaxed atmosphere

Very comfy beds. Free coffee! Use of hot tub and sauna. Amazing location - perfect for the bus to thorsmork.

The self catering kitchen is only possible to use one at at time. The most expensive room we have stayed in in Iceland.

Perfect one night stay on the Ring Road

Cozy, quiet, and clean. One of the best hostels that we've ever stayed in!

Maybe having another room with double bed bunks for couples would be a nice addition to the experience.

value for money!

the beds were amazing, you get your own space, it’s designed very well! it has a lounge area with games downstairs, nice kitchen, a bar. and very important: a sauna en hottub which were very cool.

the fire alarm went off, and there was no staff (22:30h), because of my training on my work I told my friends to go downstairs asap. after a while the staff arrived and luckily it was false alarm. in case of a real fire: the preparations should be more clear!
