I didn't actually stay here, they were renovating so moved us to their sister hotel Spice Garden. The place was beautiful, the room large & comfortable, and the staff fantastic!

The rooms were spacious and very comfortable, both the rooms were very clean and up to date. Upon arrival, we received 4 drink tickets for free drinks at the bar down the alley.

great location, helpful staff, the beds are so so comfortable and the rooms were very clean! perfect for us as a couple who wanted to go out. bit loud at night but nothing you can’t sleep through and given the location it was well worth it.

Had the pleasure to come back and stay at Spice Place, with its lovely and calm energy and still super close to all the exciting things in the old town. It feels like my home in Chiang Mai 😍

1. location
really close to the main Chiangmai tourist attractions. a 7-10ish minute walk will bring you to the Sunday night market and popular temples. really close to a 7/11 and if you are into drinking there are nearby bars.
2. tv
tv was amazing with access to Netflix
1. bathroom cleanliness
the bathroom was a bit gross….. The shower curtain is too long so the whole bottom had like reddish blackish stains 🥲 the shower floor and shower head also had blackish stains…..
2. room was a bit dark, lighting wise
even though there was a big window in the room, it faces directly towards the hallway, so I pretty much kept it closed the whole time. there weren’t that many overhead lights

The service at this hotel was absolutely awful. To begin with, when I checked in the room was full of mosquitoes, and the windows were covered in bird poop. I asked the owner, the OWNER for mosquito spray and to clean the windows and he said that the price was too low and so they would not give me spray for the mosquitoes or properly clean the room. The were also a lot of long dark hairs on the floor, and in one area there was a sticky spot on the floor. The other thing is that there is a club, actually the biggest club complex in Chiang Mai, is next to the hotel and the room is not insulated at all, and so it is extremely loud. Despite all of this, I decided to extend my stay partly because I'm a little bit lazy and partly because despite the room having issues the bed was nice, and they had a good TV. The entirety of my stay anytime I needed anything I had to call their sister hotel, spice garden, and anytime you call them, they're very rude and surly. They will say to you in the rudest possible way this is spice garden not spice place, despite the fact that they know that they are the partner hotel to spice place and that they are supposed to be there to help. However, anytime you ask for anything you're made to feel like you are a problem and inconveniencing everyone. So despite the horrible service I decided to extend and throughout the duration of my stay anytime I needed anything it was a struggle. One time my key ran out and I couldn't open the door. It needed to be updated. I had to ask for help, the owner was the only person there and he didn't answer the phone, so again I had to call the other hotel where they were able to reach him and he was mad about that too. Anything you ask for is too much. They literally just want to give you a room and have you leave them alone. They did however get mosquito spray and clean the windows after I paid them 3500 baht.
After staying for a week andIt's worth noting that during my stay only two other guests checked in. So after spending well over 4 or 5000 baht at this hotel, I went out one day at the end of my stay, the end of the week stay, and went to exercise and I came back and tried to get into my room and the key was expired. I called down to the front office and once again no one was there. I had already booked for another night at this point. I then had to call spice garden where the guy is rude. He shows up with the key and tries to hold the key from me without letting me go into my room where all of my belongings are, until I pay him 500 baht. He was holding my stuff hostage and demanding that I check in again even though all of my stuff was in the room. This of course was after I had already paid them for over a week's worth of stays. The guy refused to give me the key to my room. I'm sweating because I've just been exercising and he's demanding that I pay him right that second instead of letting me go to my room and clean myself up. Obviously I cancelled my stay at that moment and got my stuff and got out of that hotel. This place is easily one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in Chiang Mai or anywhere else in the the world. And I can't recommend them. They also tried to bring booking.com into it and insist that booking cancel future reservations but booking.com refused to do it. They apparently called booking.com full of false accusations and of course booking realised it. I don't recommend anybody stay there. Like I said I was the only person there despite the rooms being of a moderate quality. The problem is that the quality of the service is terrible. So don't waste your time.

Location was perfect easy walk to everywhere.
The famous Annies is on the corner great food & drinks. Such a lovely host.
Comfortable bed big flat screen tv to relax by.
Shower had great pressure hot or cold worked well.
Staff helped me get a grab taxi when it was pouring rain.
Besides your room, it didnt really feel like their was an outdoor space to relax in.
Downstairs area could be better utilised for this.As there is a area there but its not inviting in anyway.

bed is super comfy
i had requested a room number on booking what I understand can’t always happen but I would At least put us in a similar room, instead the man on reception basically just laughed when I said, the room we got put in was very small and cramped and it smelt very badly of sewer that it was actually making us feel sick after about 4 hours into the night we couldn’t take it anymore and my other half went downstairs to ask if we could be moved to which we was moved without hesitation but the man on reception new it was a problem in that room as he said air-con services were coming out to look at it the following day then laughed and moved us rooms what was felt smaller but think it was just a lower ceiling was a real shame as we stayed previously and was exceptionally pleased that we came back and booked more nights to what we now wish we hadn’t, big shame!

Great location. This trip was for work. The hotel is located near so many tourist attractions as well. Recommended for those who want to walk to the walking street on Sunday.
The phone in the room wasn't working. The customer needed to call the staff hotel directly to their mobile numbers.
