About this house rental
Ever dreamed of being the landlord of your very own Irish Pub? Well now you can…and what’s more this traditional Irish Pub is ideally located along Irelands Newest Iconic Trademark, the Wild Atlantic Way in the Village of Castlemaine, birthplace of the Wild Colonial Boy and where the Dingle Peninsula meets the Iveragh Peninsula. The scenery in this area has been described as ‘like stepping into a picture book’. Close to the Ring of Kerry and only a 15-20 minute drive to the bustling tourist town of Killarney this is the perfect base for exploring by day if you so wish while experiencing a slice of authentic Irish Village life! Oh…and did we mention its less than a ten minute drive to one of Irelands most famous beaches …Inch Beach…where an Inch is a mile! Stay here and you will never run out of places to see or things to do while in the evening coming back and relaxing in your very own Pub!
Called after Jack Duggan this Pub dates back to 1903 and walking into it you would you would think that you are entering typical traditional Irish Village Pub full of Character and Charm. In fact this Pub only closed its doors to the Public in 2017 and it has remained the same since. The only thing that has changed are the living quarters which have undergone an extensive refurbishment. A more comfortable, warm and cosy place to stay you will not find and that’s not including the Pub.
The accommodation includes the Bar with open fire, pool table, T.V.s and multiple games to choose from, a fully functioning separate kitchen, Kegs room with top of the range cooling system, a separate lounge room or chill out room as we like to call it with T.V. and fire, four double bedrooms and one twin room sleeping 10 people in total (cot and kids bed also available), two fully refurbished shower room, one fully refurbished bathroom and also a separate w.c.
This Pub is ideal for any family or group of friends who wish to spend some time together just getting away from it all or exploring the region. Also within a two hour drive from Jack Duggans Pub you will find 43 Golf Courses including many of Ireland's top 20 courses e.g., Killarney, Ballybunion, Tralee and Waterville making this also an ideal base for a Golf Trip. Or indeed for the climbing enthusiast we are within easy reach of the McGillycuddy reeks, Ireland highest mountain range…the possibilities are endless!
Castlemaine Village itself offers a local Store perfect to pick up your convenience items and and if you are tired after a long day why not stroll across the road to eat in Knightley’s Bar and Restaurant. We also recommend ordering your groceries online prior to arrival and getting them delivered by the local Supermarket saving much time and effort.
This property is owned by the Casey family who have been welcoming guests in their home in Killarney since 2011. Please check out Killarney Manor House for details and reviews. I am sure you will find you will be in good hands. We will be available throughout your stay to help you in any way possible from advice on local activities to arranging a trip for you, no matter is too big or small.
Visit us here at Jack Duggans Pub and you will be guaranteed to be greeted with a smile and the famous 'Cead Mile Failte' (a hundred thousand welcomes) of the Irish people!

We stayed at jack duggan pub. It was clean, comfortable and spacious accommodation and really fun to have the bar.
On a busy road so some traffic noise but with windows closed it was fine.
The house is well stocked, our host was easy to communicate with and responded quickly to any queries.
We went to the griffin for a nice pub dinner one night and the staff there were fabulous.

Great Pub VRBO. My family couldn't believe we really had the entire pub! Snooker table a bit torn up and new cues are definitely needed but we still had fun. Plenty of room to spread out for the 9 of us. The beds were very comfortable.

Very nice and clean property. Nice beds. Lots of room. Strong showers and modern bathrooms. Great location to sightseeing and several cute towns nearby with good food. Across the street from a nice little convenient store and a very good restaurant.
The pub space on the first floor is a terrific gathering place. Washer and dryer and hairdryer were very much appreciated.

We booked this property because of the space and amenities within it, thinking that it would be a good home base to go to Killarney and Dingle and the surrounding areas. What we didn't know is that the little town of Castlemaine has a fun life of it's very own and if you go to Griffin's (a 1-2 minute walk!) for dinner and move to the bar for drinks afterwards, you will have a fantastic time! The property itself is VERY comfortable, spacious and fun. It's so hard to find queen-sized beds, and this property has them! The bathrooms were really nice, the kitchen had plenty of space and we were even left some welcome treats! We stayed all over Ireland during our trip and this was, by far, our favorite accommodation! If I could give it 10 stars, I would!

Came to Castlemaine with family members of six, and had family from Abbeyfeale come down for some games and picture album viewing.
It was the perfect location with lots of room for us to have a great time full of laughter and craic.

This rental is exactly as advertised. The property itself is a little tired *but* having your own bar is the absolute coolest and the owners have really gone out of their way to make it comfortable and homey. The beds were super comfortable, the bathrooms were modern, and the pub makes it all worthwhile either way. This was hands down our kids' favorite place we stayed. The village is quite small but it's a good location for exploring the Dingle peninsula and you can't beat having your own pub! Definitely recommend.

This was a fun place to stay, with our own neighborhood pub atmosphere but still plenty of room for us 9 adults and an infant. Everything worked well and the restaurant Griffins and convenient store Helena's were VERY friendly, helpful and accommodating. We loved our stay!

We had such a wonderful time at Jack Duggans! The establishment was clean and perfectly situated for our group of 9. The neighborhood was so fun and the people are incredibly friendly. Our communication with the property owners/management was exceptional. So pleased with our stay- may be the highlight of our trip so far. Thank you, all. Cheers!

What a fun experience! We were looking for unique places to stay while exploring the Dingle Peninsula and nearby Killarney and found it at Jack Duggan’s. The upstairs apartment is quite large and can accommodate a large family easily. The bedrooms are comfortable and we had everything we needed during our stay. What a fun experience to have our “own pub” to feel the history of the place. Castlemaine is small, so there aren’t a lot of walkable eating options, but there are a few a short drive away. The local store owner was very helpful and friendly. It was a fun experience and one we will remember.

Located in a sleepy, quite town about 13 miles from Killarney National Park, my family and I enjoyed the amenities of the pub while lounging and recharging our batteries before moving onto the next phase of our holiday.
Easy, scenic drive to park allowed us to stay out of the traffic and congestion surrounding Killarney. Would book again especially if we travel with another family as the property was roomy and comfortable.

Nothing like having an Irish pub to yourself! Catriona and Ann were wonderful hosts. Would definitely recommend.

The property was exactly as described and perfect for our groups stay. It is convenient to Dingle peninsula and Ring of Kerry - the extra bonus was a separate dryer from the washing machine which was not common in other rentals! It was clean and plenty of room for everyone to spread out. Would definitely come back!

We loved staying at the Pub. The pool table was great and they had lots of games. It is a small town- one restaurant (it was not serving food), two bars and a gas station/grocery store. You have to be prepared to drive to Killarney or other towns for meals and sites.

Central to town. Manager’s response to our questions were prompt. Very helpful manager. The bar area lent a lot of character.
The dryer didn’t dry our clothes very well.
