Zusammengefasst, einfach alles.

The hotel was clean. Room was a good size.
We found the staff to be quiet rude and not very friendly. Too far from the City centre.

don’t be mistaken about reception when you walk in it’s maintained an historical look but the rooms dinning room etc are exceptional.

It was my 2nd time at this hotel and it was great stay once again. The location is quite central and close to both the S-Bahn and U-Bahn. The room was very clean, well-maintained and with all possible facilities provided. The breakfast spread is very good. The staff are friendly and helpful. Great place to stay.

Nice and cosy hotel - the old elevator is unique. Clean and quiet room. Small but functional bathroom. Very good localization. Tasty and fresh breakfasts. I recommend it for short or longer stay. Finding a free parking space around was not a problem.

Amazing value for money. Staff was very good, for instance we asked them to clean our room fully on our 3rd day and they did. Breakfast buffet was good too, there was much choice and it freshly made. Location of hotel is also great, only 30 minutes from city centre.
The towels didn't really smell freshly washed, they probably don't use (much) fabric softener

There is no 24-hour reception. Difficult find parking but it's free.. . Very Lousy Floor in the room.

I notified the hotel of my late arrival. They said they will leave a key to the hotel and my room in the locker outside. They gave me the code to the locker, but the locker was empty. Their phone line was closed as well. I spent 2 hours at night in the cold in front of the closed hotel doors looking for alternative accommodation in the middle of the night.
They replied almost a day later (!), in the afternoon next day, saying it was a mistake and they left a key in the other locker. That was the worst hotel experience in my life. Please avoid this place

It’s quite a funky hotel with an old school vibe. The breakfast was awesome. The staff were very helpful and even mailed me back my glasses I forgot in the room. I adored the big shower!
Everything was awesome!

Brandies is a pretty old, quaint hotel. You have to know and appreciate that, and you'll have a good stay. The rooms are quite spacious, or at least mine was, with a sitting corner, a separate couch and a desk to work at. My room even had a small balcony with a couple of chairs and a table. Nice to sit at in the evening before bed. The place is understaffed (noone at the front desk later in the evening) but the staff is friendly and helpful nonetheless.
The location is quite good if you are visiting a trade show in the Berlin Besse, and it is close to the Kaiserdamm U-Bahn stop which quickly takes you into the heart of Berlin.
Also, wifi is hasslefree and quite fast these days (ten years ago I also stayed here and it was, well, dial-up speed), about 250 Mbit/s on Speedtest. More importantly, water pressure and temperature in the shower were quite good in my second-floor room.
In all, I'm rating this '5' because Booking says that's 'sufficient'. I'd say '6' would be warranted as well - if you're there in a colder period of the year.
The hotel itself is, well, old. Creaky floors and stairs, and an elevator straight out of the 19th century. There is no air conditioning, although a fan was provided in the room. That makes it not the best place to stay in a typically hot September: if you open doors and windows, the sound from the street next to the hotel is quite loud till deep into the night. Keep them closed and it's cloyingly warm.
The beds are very soft, bending too much in the middle to my taste. That's a matter of personal preference of course, but I prefer a harder mattress. The bathroom is quite small.
The one time I requested room cleaning, it wasn't the most impressive example I've seen of the practice. I don't really care that much, as I was only staying a few nights, but if you're fussy about that sort of thing, be aware.
