We found the location central to the Norfolk coast destinations. There is also good parking at the hotel.
Excellent breakfast with a variety of choice on the menu. Also the evening meals are excellent with a varied choice.
The host Ronan was friendly, welcoming & very attentive. Staff were also friendly & attentive.
We felt at home here especially with Rocco & Ruben the fabulous dogs.
The surrounding area has excellent walks, close to the beach & Nature reserve.
Overall the stay was Excellent at The Harnser & would have no hestitation in recommending.
We wouldn’t change anything.

The food and service was fantastic and the hosts are the most wonderful pair you'll meet. Very welcoming and a hoot. The location of the property is great for the village and for walking your dog, also their accomodating nature for animals is unrivalled to any other place we've stayed, and they have their own pair of wonderful dogs that love a scruff.

What an amazing find. We had a lovely time staying with the guys Ronan and Alan and their lovely dogs . We were welcomed warmly and loved the friendly vibes from the moment we arrived. Our dogs loved it too. All the good is freshly prepared and we stayed for dinner and well as the B&B we booked. We had Room one which is double aspect and has an en-suite bathroom which although small is perfectly adequate. We had a lovely relaxing stay and would highly recommend staying here.

Beautiful B & B in a wonderful location. Cozy, clean & very comfortable room, dog friendly & wonderful food with great hosts.
Nothing bad to say absolutely loved our stay.

The hosts and staff were very friendly, we were made to feel very welcome. There is a lovely ambiance in the bar/restaurant area. The food is delicious and very reasonably priced. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The room I booked had a separate bathroom which was clean and well maintained. I would definitely book again.
A dog friendly B&B so just make sure you're okay with that if booking.

Cley must be one of the most beautiful villages in England and the Harnser ideally placed in the centre of the village. Easy access to the beach along well maintained boardwalks and paths makes it a great location for families and birdwatchers, dogwalkers. The village has several great places to eat and is a delight to explore. The Harnser has been fully refurbished downstairs, the hosts are just lovely people. So welcoming and the food and wine are excellent. Really happy to have chosen this as a place to stay.
OK having said that - the Harnser has been a pub /restaurant for centuries and the owners are aware that the rooms do need refurbishing. They have completed the downstairs to a high standard and I understand they have planning permission to remodel and rebuild the bedrooms. At the moment the rooms are very good size, clean and quiet. They do suffer from worn wall paper and I sincerely hope the plastic coated plywood wardrobes will be condemned to the infernal flames that are also reserved for the people who manufactured and designed such eyesores. Likewise the shower room and toilet also need updating. However as the new layout will make them en-suite I can see why the owners have postponed an upgrade. The shower room is clean and serviceable. Entertainment wise there is good WIFI. TV is also small and a bit flaky arial connections. However, we don't travel to stay in bed and watch TV. The bed was comfortable. We slept well. The room prices were reasonable and took into account that the rooms do need a little work. Overall very happy to recommend.

The location is very good as it is easy to reach anywhere along the north Norfolk coast. The building is very well looked after, is kept exceptionally clean and everything makes guests extremely comfortable. The breakfasts and their home cooked evening meals are first class and are enjoyed in a lovely atmosphere created by Ronan and Alan and all of their staff.
We were very well looked after and could not suggest anything to change.
4.7
The character of the building and nicely decorated
4.7
Good location for access to the coastal walks.
Ronan, Alan and staff very friendly and attentive.
Good choice of food for all meals.
Accommodation bright and spotless.
High quality throughout, but strange that there were no biscuits with the tea/coffee in the room.
4.7
It's an old, quirky building with character and the owners have done a good job providing modern comforts without destroying the character of the building. For example, each bedroom door was a different size to the other bedroom doors! Good breakfast. Ronan, the proprietor is a natural host.

I have no issues to report

- Good location.
- Tasty breakfast.
- Room needs a little TLC - peeling paintwork, window that wouldn’t open (therefore quite stuffy).
- Noisy - you can hear everything from
the neighbouring room including other guests snoring. Bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper!

The only thing was the noisy toilet in the room .

The location was great & our host Ronan was excellent

I have stayed in many many hotels, usually 5 or 4 star. The Harnser is much simpler but the service level from Ronan ranks amongst the best anywhere. He was a genial, accommodating and entertaining host. Nothing was too much trouble. The café is a little New England oasis and we were exceptionally grateful for the help de-icing our vehicle early in the morning. We will certainly stay again when next in the area
