Close to venue we were visiting
This hotel was by far the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. The list of failings is extensive.
Even before we checked in, the car park was tricky to navigate and had very few spaces. The galling thing was then you had to pay £5 a night for the privilege to use it! The main entrance was via a rusty, bent ramp and the foyer was tired and run down. Wet, cracked tiles greeted you at reception with an obstacle course of yellow slip hazard signs to navigate. Staff seemed uninterested and vacant.
We were shown the lift that was so small you could only fit 2 people in with one suitcase, and the room layout was so muddled that we had to walk up then down a further flight of stairs to get to our room, impossible for those with impairments. There was very minimal signage as to where the rooms were so it took some time to find the room.
The family room we stayed in (room 110 for future visitors to avoid) had cracks and peeling paint on the walls. The tired wooden furniture had chunks out of the sides which were sharp. The ‘coffee facilities’ were 3 dirty mugs (there were 4 of us!) and a scrappy plastic bag with a few coffee sachets in it. The windows were filthy and single glazed so we could hear every sound coming from outside. The double bed was so hard it was like sleeping on a mortuary slab. There was only one plug outlet in the whole room for 4 people to try and share, and this was nowhere near a bedside. And worst of all, there was blood splattered up the curtains next to my daughter’s bed.
Sleeping was almost impossible as the walls and ceiling were so poorly constructed it sounded like herds of wildebeest were all around us, and at one point we honestly thought that the people above us were going to come crashing through the ceiling. We could also hear every word (and sound!) coming from the rooms next to us and above us.

The breakfast was outstanding 10/10
The car park was small found it difficult to park lines were drawn at difficult angles and needs to be a bigger car park for the size of the hotel
3.1
The room; the TV; the bathroom, and its provisions.
Tea coffee provisions were good, albeit lacking in sugar.
The shower was actually great, with a large rose attached to enable good water discharge. The shower curtains were spotless.
I was actually impressed with the overall cleanliness of the room, including the kettle.
The TV was at an agreeable angle and was a good size screen.
Oh, and on checking out, I saw Bruna, which was nice!
Having to pay for the Internet - so I didn't use the hotel internet.
Having to share my driving licence number with the hotel, particularly as I wasn't using the hotel car park.
In the email I received, which provided confirmation of the booking, it stated that photo ID should be shown - I have no issue with that as it's quite common amongst hotel groups to ask to see ID.
But it did not say anything about recording data from the photo ID.
I wonder, would a hotel refuse entry to somebody who arrived at reception without a drivers licence or passport to show?
Ten or so years ago, before I owned my own car, that somebody would have been me, travelling as I used to via train.
The other thing that did cause me actual discomfort was the chunky pillow that was so big that my poor neck was at a 90-degree angle.

This property is dated, but was clean and did the job. Fairly priced. Parking was tight, but they have a rear car park, which helped. The breakfast was simple.
The location, cleanliness, had live entertainment in evening.

I felt like Harry Potter. The size of the room was no bigger than a cupboard. No wonder the pictures of the room aren’t online because if they were I never would have paid £78 to sleep in a cupboard
Felt like a care home

Typical Britannia hotel , lots of immigrants
I had a executive room , well so they call it , very clean but very tired, wallpaper peeling everywhere,
Keep it open by bodging and cheap tarting up ,

Arrived around15.30 staff were friendly and helpful we had a dog with us which they seemed not to have the information on even though we let them know when booked,it was not a problem and was soon sorted.
Pleasant hotel,good location,lovely staff
On arrival offered room that was dark, dingy, dirty stained carpets we would have gone back home if the manager wasn’t so helpful we were given a much nicer room of a standard you would expect.
I do wonder why hotels give sub standard rooms to dog owners as most owners are responsible and we pay a premium
