Tour of the castle...very interesting.
Nearby restaurants and attractions
Quiet Rural setting.
Room 6 originally allocated...huge dip in mattress. Desperately needs replacing. Fortunately, the place was quiet as midweek, so we were kindly moved.
I found the 'new' mattress in the next room quite hard and could feel the springs.
No hairdryer could be found in the whole place. Had to go out for the evening with wet hair.
Generally, a bit disorganised and hap- hazard.

Breakfast was plentiful and good. The location was excellent. Being able to wander through the castle buildings reading the history was fantastic. Close to the pleasant town of Tiverton, yet still in the quiet countryside.

The estate is large. We took a walk around to enjoy the peaceful garden view. Dinner buffet is reasonable priced and quite tasty. Breakfast was good too.

The location was perfect for a complete and tranquil getaway.
Despite being very rural it was still within easy reach of the motorway.
Due to the fact that it was a former castle it was ideal for history buffs and the staff very kindly took us on a tour of the remaining tower and chapel.

The room was comfortable with everything provided to make the stay thoroughly enjoyable. The 'full English' breakfast was freshly cooked to order. All the essential facilities were provided and everything 'worked' as it should.

The location was lovely
Various areas could be improved, the accommodation was tired and needed upgrading, the room was cold and slightly condensated, the beds were hard but that’s a personal preference really, we arrived to no breakfast one day as they forgot we were there, the hairdryer didn’t work, the cups in the room were tiny. The hosts did give us a heater and hairdryer after requesting and they did cook us a full breakfast to make up for things. With some small adjustments I’m sure it could be lovely and the hosts were very pleasant. It would be amazing in the summer and I’m sure a wedding party would enjoy the surroundings. It felt expensive for what we got and full breakfast wasn’t included as expected. If the rate was lower then this would be satisfactory.

Friendly and welcoming establishment. Very filling breakfast and well cooked. Room very comfortable and hosts obliged by letting me have bathroom en suite as no one else there. Cost very much lower than other nearby establishments and far more picturesque. Ample car parking at no cost.
TV cable needed to be pushed in to get wifi

Amazing location with the exact facilities needed for our family. The kind owner went above and beyond on our arrival fairly late in the evening , and in the morning we had the benefit of being able to view the castle at our leisure.

Staying in the Bickleigh Castle Estate in the lovingly restored castle estate felt like an authentic taste of the past with all the conveniences of the modern age. Relaxing in the beautiful grounds with the chance to wander round the historic castle, armoury, and chapel are "extras" beyond price. Sarah and her husband have created a unique and welcoming way to both preserve and use Britain's rich legacy of historic buildings. The continental breakfast with a nod to British marmite was excellent too! We loved our stay.
