The cottage was the perfect size for 7 of us plus dog and had everything we required. It's situated in a quiet village within walking distance of a great pub. The property backs on to open countryside which is great for walks from the property. There is lots to see and do in the area including the Tank museum, Dorchester and the Jurassic coast.

This house was lovely, we enjoyed having breakfast outside in peace and quiet. Roads are a little narrow but have plenty of passing points. Views are beautiful and house comfortable.

Excellent hideaway in the deepest Dorset countryside but convenient for local attractions. Would stay again

Greygles suited us perfectly for a few days in Dorset - a ground floor bedroom and choice of bathrooms for Granddad. Quirky upstairs ensuite and beautiful view from the main bedroom. Nice little touches, like tea, coffee, milk, biscuits and wine - all looked to be locally sourced. Comfy lounge and lovely view from the patio. Perfect for our trip to Tankfest. The local pub (The Fox) had an extensive menu. We had a lovely stay!

All the family had a lovely stay at this cosy cottage situated in a wonderful village. The cottage backs onto fields and is a lovely place to unwind & relax. Super pub 10mins walk The Fox, farm shop & village store opposite the pub - all good !!

Cobwebs were visible but luckily no spiders. Skirting boards could do with a wipe round. Socket near door in downstairs bedroom needs attention.A comfortable stay with good amenities in the house. Nice that owner rang to see if all was well on date of arrival. As I had to travel to Bournemouth for dialysis 3 times a week narrow road with passing places was a bit off putting. Due to this travelling I would not be returning to this venue. But would be very happy to use Dorset Hidaways for another booking.

Very nice indeed. The only slight negative was the steep staircase that would need to be navigated from bedroom 3 and 2 upstairs if the bathroom was needed in the night. We had 2 small children who could use the master bedroom so ok. Otherwise very comfortable and well stocked. But I was worried about the Aga but found there was an electric oven as well.

Lovely accommodation for all ages
Greygles is a wonderful cottage in beautiful surroundings. Our group consisted of 6 adults (of varying ages) and an 8-month-old baby and all of us felt right at home. The two seniors were happy to take the bedroom downstairs and used the bathroom with the shower. The facilities provided for babies/children (cot, highchair and stairgate) were certainly satisfactory and in general, the accommodation is well-stocked (kitchen appliances, cooking utensils, towels, tourist books, dvds, washing liquid, dishwasher tablets, etc). Although the weather was slightly too chilly to sit outside often, there are supplies for the garden, too (parasol, table, etc). Even if you can't sit outside, the living room, dining room and two of the upstairs bedrooms look out over a large stretch of fields, which were full of linseed when we were there, colouring purple in the sunshine. Absolutely stunning! The cottage was very clean and tidy when we arrived and dustbins are provided in every room, as well as a vacuum cleaner, to make it easy to keep it that way. Checking in on our day of arrival was a breeze with the key box, which was also very convenient when our group went their separate ways for the day so the key could remain on-site. The owner was abroad during our stay, but he called us on the first day to make sure everything was in order and we had settled in nicely. We also had a lovely chat about local activities and must-sees. For any problems that might have occured during our stay, he provided us with details of someone who lives close by. On the day before we left, he called again to hear how our stay had been. This was a very nice courtesy! Melcombe Bingham is a small village, but a great starting point for short and long walks alike, taking you through a varried landscape. It's also quite central for many daytrips, either to the coast or further inland. We stayed at Greygles for 10 days and didn't get to see everything we wanted in the area, so there is a lot to do. There is a Brewery shop in the village, which can provide you with basic groceries, but there are supermarkets a short car ride away.

A week in Melcombe Bingham
Dishwasher not correctly fixed so fell towards you if not careful. Fridge in poor condition, vacuum cleaner broken. Recommended place for dog waste had not been emptied, garden becoming overgrown. No obscure glass in large downstairs bathroom window. Disappointing especially because of cost

Fabulous stay
We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Greygles, the cottage & garden is lovely. The rear of the property overlooks a field so it felt so peaceful and not at all overlooked. Easy walking distance to The Fox pub & the village store. ( although we did drive to the store!) Three of the bedrooms were upstairs & one is downstairs & that suited us perfectly as we were 3 generations! We had a wonderful time- thank you Greygles!!

A spacious, comfortable cottage with a lovely welcoming feel.
Greygles Cottage was a very spacious, comfortable cottage with a lovely welcoming feel. beautiful far reaching views from the back garden. Local walks for our dog from the doorstep which we appreciated every day. Extremely supportive owner and housekeeper Sarah with some issues with the internet and fire alarm. Both quickly resolved. An easy walk to the local Pub and a 20 minute drive to a great quality restaurant located in a Manor House with magnificent gardens. Highly recommend this cottage and area of Dorset.
