The unit was clean and comfortable with enough space for our 4 adult children and spouses/children. Everybody loved mornings on the front porch, and it was so close to the beach we never even needed the wagon! The kitchen and multiple dining areas allowed for us to share many meals, and the bedrooms and baths were spread out so everyone had their own space. The location was near a couple grocery stores and not to far from the Pier Park for an afternoon luncheon. We were also close enough to Panama City to use the Shell Island Shuttle for a pontoon rental. The back door was difficult to close, there were conflicting check out procedures, and there was some confusion as to if we had left the property or not from the cleaning service, but nothing that detracted from a fabulous adult family vacay!

Loved the location and house was nice but house was mid-advertised on the number of bathrooms! Vasasa was not easy to deal with and communications were contradictory about what to do at check out.

we had family in the area and were able to spread out because there were lots of eating areas. The location is fabulous and community is adorable.

Our family of 10 including a 2-year-old and 8-year-old thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It is in a resort community that is very secure. There are several small shops including a coffee shop, spa, restaurants, a general store and ice cream shop. The location of our rental was close to the beach and other resort amenities. The home itself provided plenty of space and furniture for our family to spread out. It was very clean, comfortable and cool. The huge screened in front porch was a definite bonus! We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!

Loved the community and proximity to the beach. Liked the size and number of bedrooms. Uncomfortable beds and sitting arrangements, mattress and furniture need to be replaced/upgraded

Needs some updating and changing of molding shower curtains but overall it’s a nice place.

Very nice neighborhood. Easy access to beautiful beach. Nice pools. Management company was responsive to issues, thankfully, because there were many, as deferred maintenance on the home was problematic during our stay. This caused additional time in communication with management that should have been leisure time. Most issues we noted to management were fixed such as broken door locks on bathroom sliding doors, No volume from TV in main floor bedroom, missing towel rack in bathroom, bathroom sink drain stopper stuck closed, door handle to patio fell off...One un-resolved issue we reported was the grossly molded bowl and spoon left on patio by cleaning crew, There were several issues we did not request to have fixed as well that could still be in disrepair, for instance: Dishwasher not properly attached so it leans out of counter when opened. Kitchen was not stocked with adequate coffee mugs, bowls, glasses, silverware, etc based on allowed # of guests. Slow drain in rear, 2nd floor tubshower (Yuck!). Wine cooler and TV monitor on 3rd floor are non-functioning. Bottom shelf of refridgerator door broken, beach gear/toy box on porch was a mess with broken and un-usable items included.
We did not see adequate instructions on:
Where to place trash for pickup (inside trash bins tucked away behind house).
Street parking restrictions for guests. We were given warnings for fire lane violations when no indications are posted.
Vacasa communication was great.

This is the perfect location to beach access only a 3 min walk and a short walk to one of the 3 pools.

Carillon Beach is a wonderful community. We Love the security and serenity, the beautiful homes, neighborhood feel, beach access, pools and beaches.
We have stayed in a number of different homes over the years. Once Upon a Time is a great house, but needs some TLC here and there. The mattresses in the upstairs bedrooms are simply worn out, missing simple things like a broom and dust pan so no way to clean up sand you might track in.
The drain was plugged in the downstairs bathroom, Vacasa was very responsive and repaired it promptly when notified. The internet went down for 2 days, Vacasa again responded and it was back up. Electronic equipment very dated, missing remote for VCR so kind of a hassle for grandchildren watching movies. We could not stream when the internet was down.
All that said it was a great value for the money. The house worked well for us. We highly recommend Vacasa based on our experience working thru them. Very seamless.

We loved staying at once upon a time. We could see the steps to the beach from the house. We loved having the chair rental included in our stay. The house had plenty of room for 3 couples and two toddlers. The porches were nice as well. Check in and out was very simple and they are quick to respond to questions.

We loved the location to the walkover, screened in porch, and enough space for our family to spread out in all over the house. Great house!

This was our 1st family vacation with our 3 adult children, their spouses, and children. We had plenty of beds, however it was advertised as 4 full bathrooms & this was not the case. It was 3 1/2. One bedroom upstairs had to share with the King bedroom, which was very cumbersome. Other than that, it was fine and lots of memories were made. Mattresses definitely need to be changed.

The house was very nice.
The house was very nice and in a great location. Only thing I could recommend is that for the price you pay to stay then you need to update the mattresses in all bedrooms. Other than that we enjoyed our stay.

Good Location / needs updates
Giving this a 4 only because of the location to the beach. Main room TV small and seating not comfortable. House overall is dated. It was not particularly clean on arrival.. floors felt dirty and bannister was sticky. Stains on couch. Nice to sleep a lot of people with individual beds.

Beautifully located bright airy home
We enjoyed the multiple dining spaces and the spacious bedrooms.

Nice but needs refresh….
Pros:
The home is wonderful. Great location, close to the beach and on-property activities.
Cons:
Only expect the basics for kitchen supplies. We had to purchase a glass bowl (and we donated for the next renter).
House is nice and very clean, but it needs a refresh on interior remodel. Dishwasher is on the last leg.
Beds need to be replaced - not the worst I have slept in but for the money paid, they can and should be better.
House provided two chairs rent free plus to smaller beach chairs. Need to have at lease four chairs (rental) for a house this size.
Again very nice, great location but interior was a little dated and beds need to be replaced.

Spacious and beautiful
I rented this home for my parents for my wedding weekend since I got married at the Meeting House in Carillon. The home was perfect and very spacious for my parents and 2 other couples. The beach access was right down the street and you could see it from the living room. Everyone had their own private bathroom and the neighborhood is nothing but gorgeous. We hope to be back at some point!

Great house
Great home needs some minor maintenance things to be taken care of such as dishwasher wheels and the ceiling fans upstairs but overall the home and the location to the beach was awesome.

Fantastic!!
This home was perfect for me and my grown children, lots of space, great amenities. Only one issue, the lower rack in the dishwasher was broken, we managed to work around it. Highly recommend this home for you family vacations/ get togethers. It does not disappoint.

Wonderful but could not use the grill or upper level
The house was wonderful and in a great location. We tried to grill the first night but were unable to as the grill was engulfed with flames while preheating because it had not been cleaned. Luckily my husband caught it in time and he was able to put it out. Also, the top level ceiling fan did not work which made it uncomfortable and too hot for our son to sleep up there. If these things were corrected we would definitely stay here again.

We came for a family wedding and could not have been happier with the property and neighborhood!
The beach, pool and wedding were all a 5 min walk away. The house was perfect for our family and allowed us a worry free stay. I highly recommend staying here.

Family friendly and great location
We really enjoyed our stay at Once Upon A Time! The house was comfortable for 10 people (3 couples plus 4 small children). We loved eating and relaxing in the screened-in porch. The beach is a very easy walk. And a couple of well-maintained pools are nearby. Vacasa responded quickly to a couple of maintenance issues (propane tank ran out on the grill and a small leak developed in one bathroom) Looks like the construction next door is almost done. There were a lot of construction vehicles coming and going but no noise. Overall a great experience!

Family Beach Trip 2021
We brought our children and grandchildren. There were 12 of us in total. There was plenty of room for everyone. The house was beautiful and well decorated. The beach access was not far but there were a lot of steps to get to the beach. We had to leave our wagons at the entrance and carry everything over the walkway, but otherwise, it was close and once on the beach it was not crowded and our grandchildren had plenty of space to run and play. All in all we had a wonderful time and we were pleased with the house and the service with Vacasa.

Dreamy
We enjoyed our vacation in Once Upon a Time. It was a good size for our family and was very comfortable. It is in a great location. While it is not on the beach, it is close enough to make it easy to get to. Family friendly environment.

Great place to stay
Our family was here for our son’s wedding and we had plenty of room for 12 adults and 2 children! It was just a short walk (about 1 block) to the beach access. The bedroom and bath downstairs was perfect for my older Mom who cannot navigate stairs well. It was clean and had everything we needed. There were three minor issues that I reported (no broom, a leak in the washing machine, dishwasher roller missing on bottom shelf and unable to use) but were minimal inconveniences. Would definitely stay again!

Just as a vacation should be
We loved staying here! Everything was wonderful! There was construction next door but nothing that was bothersome. There was so much space in the house-and had a nice Key West theme. Everything was nicely decorated.
The master bed was incredibly comfortable and the darkening curtains made it easy to sleep in.
It was nice having a screened in lower porch and a regular porch on the second floor-we enjoyed both.
We couldn’t figure out the coffee pot but could have just been us...plus it made a good excuse for an early morning ride to get coffee at the restaurant.

Great space!
Great house that accommodate 11 of us! We took a great friends trip! Very close walk to the beach access! Relaxing and quiet environment! Will definitely stay here again! Also appreciated that I received a phone call after checking in asking if we needed anything, very thoughtful and great customer service!

We love Carillon!
We love this community, it’s location and how quiet it seems to be each time we visit. Once Upon a Time was a clean and comfortable home. Vacasa team members at the Carillon office were extremely attentive, professional, cheerful and welcoming. We liked that Once Upon a Time was close to walkover 1 and included beach service.

Close to beach
Overall, we had a great stay. The property was clean, and well-maintained, and just a short walk to the beach (very short, 500 ft).
We give the property 4 stars because 1) the listing didn't disclose the active construction site next door (it wasn't too loud or a bother for us, but it might have been for other guests), and 2) difficulty in finding the beach chairs designated for us. We called a vacasa number, but the woman at the call center said the property didn't include beach service (contrary to property description). We were able to get it set up with the third-party beach service, but seemingly without any help from vacasa.

Great house
The house was great and location was amazing. I had sent 4 emails and called property management company well before our stay to find out what floors the bedrooms were located on. They didn’t respond until the day of check in. I didn’t love having to pick up and drop off keys at their office. I feel most places in 2020 just have a code at the house to use. Overall great house. We had 4 adults, 3 teens, & 2 kids. There was plenty of room for all of us. We would definitely consider staying there again.

Can’t wait to book again for next year!!
What a great place to stay! Perfect location to the beach! Large enough for everyone to have their own space. Adequately stocked kitchen; plenty of parking room; nice neighborhood; seconds to the beach & pool. We enjoyed our fall break & can’t wait to book again for next year!

Vacation home
The home is beautiful and not a far walk to either the pool or beach ! Lots of room for family time downstairs. Plenty of sleeping room throughout house for everyone . The kids had fun at the basketball court and playground. We loved walking around the neighborhood. The listing says it has 4 full baths but it is only 3 full baths with one half bath in the laundry area. A suggestion I would have is to put a door that can be closed and locked on the half bath.

Pray it doesn’t rain
During our stay we had a rainy day that we awoke to a loud pump noise at 8:30am and the yard of the home being flooded. So much so one of our cars was an inch from taking on water! We had to wade through the water to get the cars out in the rain. Absolutely no drainage in a million dollar community?? The home was not stocked with extra toilet paper one roll per bath for 10 people. Kitchen is well stocked with appliances and the beds are very comfortable.
