Amazing little guest house, quaint little place, we stayed in the attic room which was lovely and private and very homely with lots of quirky features, amazing breakfast was provided. Host was lovely and welcoming and friendly and also very easy to get hold of and communicate with. Really comfortable bed, excellent location within walking distance to town. Highly recommend for a comfortable home stay.
Nothing, all was fab.

The room was in the attic, but still very comfortable and clean, despite the stairs
The kitchen didn't seem very clean 8

Tom was an excellent host. We were provided with full details including what three words location point which made finding the Firs very easy.
The room had everything we needed including a box of chocolates, a lovely touch. We travel a lot and we are always impressed to find accommodation that goes over and above, such as a wider range of hot beverages in the room. A choice of a fruit tea or hot chocolate instead of tea and coffee makes all the difference, the Firs had it all. The Firs is within walking distance of the centre of Builth Wells there are plenty of places to eat even a cinema!
There wasn't anything we didn't like .

Tom has been an excellent host. We really like the flamingo theme room, pretty tidy and comfortable room. Good value for money.

Communication with Tom was excellent, and our room was ready earlier than anticipated. Very good instruction on how to find the place and how to get in and find our room. Tom was very welcoming and friendly. Fantastic choice of breakfast items were offered, but Richard and I already planned to go for a full English in a local tearoom. Would definitely book again 😊

As soon as I booked it I got messages of the owner Tom he’s a great guy with a quirky cottage, I stopped in the attic room OMG room with a view you could see for miles just beautiful. Plenty of room in the bedroom bathroom and on the landing. On suite bathroom was amazing massive shower 2 massive sinks couldn’t ask for anything more. Plus he’s a great back garden too with steps and hand rails plus lights for when it becomes dusk or dark.
Tom was the perfect host and 100 recommend this place to stop at plus you are only a 7 minute walk away from the town. If you ever need food the fountain inn and china kitchen are the best in town.
The stairs, but yes Tom does point out everything when he messaged you to explain that they are steep and not go for people with mobility problems.

The site is a hidden gem. The views from the 'room at the top' were out across the valley. Very quaint property with tons of memorabilia. The stairs could be an issue to some people, but worth the climb. Tom is the perfect host!!
Difficult to say - everything was very clean and tidy, I don't think that there was anything that wasn't likeable. And if it didn't appeal to me, I'm sure it would appeal to some folk.

Tom was an excellent host and welcomed us upon arrival. The property was unique and interesting with diverse eclectic decor. Excellent continental breakfast with a massive choice of lovely food. super comfortable bed and very quiet.
There were numerous steps down into the property from the private car park and a hand rail would have helped those of us of a more mature age.
