A friendly crew in a nice Pub. The breakfast was delicious.
The dinner was too big.

Pub a bit sterile in seating area. Manager very friendly and helpful. Food fine, room a bit squashed but comfortable beds.
No breakfast but we had money taken off our bill in compensation
A cooked breakfast! Though we were compensated for this.
Room was adequate but a little cramped eg no wardrobe / hanging space.

Close to South Downs Way, had secure place for bikes (inside), and a great breakfast
Not too much

Breakfast was a totally absent as were the staff until 9.30am . Together with two other guests we helped ourselves to a basic breakfast ! Never experienced this situation before!
A cooked breakfast was finally produced which was fine.
It would have been good if the staff had been there at breakfast time.
The shower cubicle needs maintenance but worked OK.

Nice community pub in Cocking.
Kitchen and bar close early on Sunday (although they were happy to plate up Sunday roasts for anyone who didn't arrive before the kitchen closed and let us help ourselves from the beer fridge and settle up the following morning.)

The welcome was warm and friendly. Both evening meal and the breakfast were very good quality and substantial.
The bedroom was a little cramped but more than adequate for my needs as a single occupant

Staff very helpful and very friendly. Very nice stay. Would recommend.
Thank you.
Little bit more space to put things, drawers or a wardrobe, but we were in a smallish room so it was as it was.

Community run pub in a small village on the South Downs Way. Staff are lovely. The room was small but fine for me. There was a function in the bar/restaurant but the staff made sure guests of the hotel had a space in the bar to eat.
Nice cooked breakfast. would stay again!

all carpets could do with an industrial clean and breakfast doesn’t start early enough

The staff were charming but lacked the necessary authority to deliver what had been agreed
We had booked dinner but when we arrived we were told that the kitchen was closed. We were walking the South Downs Way and all we wanted was something to eat. We were too tired to face finding a taxi to take us somewhere else so we ended up eating crisps and peanuts. We understood that no kitchen staff were available but it should surely have been possible to leave something out for us - there was plenty of food available in the kitchen. Even a bowl of cereal would have been appreciated.
