** Air Conditioning - Most mountain resort properties were not built with air conditioning. During most hours of the day and weeks of the year, AC is not needed. Summer nights are cool and fans are provided at most properties. Check the average high and low temperatures and weather forecast for your dates of travel, and look at the list of amenities to see if AC or fans are part of the rental property and look for ceiling fans in photos.
** Pets & Fees - “Pet Friendly” means Dog Friendly only. If a property is pet friendly, then a per pet, per night fee will apply. Some online booking sites, such as VRBO, do not allow us to list the maximum number of pets per property. If you are renting a pet friendly property, and will have more than one dog, please reach out prior to booking to verify if the home will allow more than one dog. Additional fees will apply for more than 1 dog.

The agreement requires a guest to confirm the group size and subsequently, to disclose any changes to the planned group size, which may result in an increase, or decrease, to the total cost, and may result in a security deposit becoming required.

For normal, respectful groups, we are sorry that these statements and measures are necessary. Security cameras and noise monitoring devices are an example and demonstration that the property's owners are taking steps to ensure the home remains available for rental, and in good condition, for your benefit. Please let us know if you have any concerns.

Home was perfect for my family and friends. Easy access to bus and ride into vail and perfect bedroom and house setup.

This property has been neglected and is run down, the carpets need replaced but certainly need cleaned, the mattresses downstairs are soft and worn out. The walls downstairs need repainted, they are dirty and scuffed up. It’s like staying in a college fraternity house. The hot tub lid is coming apart. The kitchen is well stocked and works well. There is no place sit outside and the noise from I70 is loud!

Our family has been coming to Vail for the last 10 years this weekend for the annual volleyball tournament. We have stayed in different properties throughout the years. We enjoyed our stay overall, however I can’t say we would ever return to this property.
I wanted to email the owner directly versus leaving a review, however email provided was inactive.
Our hope is this feedback is to be helpful to the property managers/owners for them to understand why we would not return. There are plenty of choices to stay in Vail. Less desirable locations (noise factor) could be overlooked if the property is well maintained and offered basic amenities.
1. Hand soap in bathrooms. This is a large house with multiple touch points.
3. Camera at hot tub- this is a huge concern. We do realize the importance of security and safety for your property. Typically, cameras are facing the front door to observe who is entering and leaving property. We had a teenage daughter who was staying at property with us. We felt very uncomfortable with the camera as we were all swimsuits. With technology these days, how can we be sure our images would not be used inappropriately.
4. Freeway noise- this was pretty disruptive when looking to come to mountains for a quiet get away.
5. Garage was filthy and mice feces. We would not leave a cooler in there.
6. Windows looked like they have never been cleaned. They were so dirty you could barely see out of them. Hard to appreciate the views.

Loved the property. Close to the village. Will save for future rental.

The house was as described but a few things left out. No mention of the crowded parking issue or the constant I-70 noise as the property is directly under the highway.
Would have liked a deck to enjoy the beautiful outdoors but the grill and hot tub take up the only deck there is. On the bright side the owners provided everything you need in the way of supplies and utilities. Great kitchen cookware and plenty of dishes to enjoy cooking if desired. Few miles to the village and town center for entertainment and dining out. Very easy to find and easy check in and out.

Great house and awesome location
My friends and I stayed at this house while we skiied and attended a music festival. Plenty of space and the hot tub was great. It’s in a cute little neighborhood. Additionally, tha bus route is super close and easy to use to get into town.

Great Place to Relax close to Vail
What an amazing place to stay! So many rooms and a loaded kitchen (love the idea of other guests to leave what they didn't use - made us feel like we were staying at a friends house) Hot tub was such an amazing touch and they had so many towels we never felt like we were short! Place was super clean and so close to Vail that it made communing so easy! Worth every penny and would recommend to any friend of family member as well as stay there again ourselves!

Great place
We enjoyed the house. Clean and comfortable. Beautiful location except for being right next to the highway. However, you can’t hear much of the highway when the tv is on.

4515E Big Horn Road
Our family enjoyed a delightful vacation at 4515E Big Horn Rd. The house was clean and well-stocked with towels and kitchen accessories. We made good use of the hot tub and grill. The open great room was perfect for our group of 5 and the privacy of each bedroom with TV was perfect for "down time". Thank you to the owners, the property management company and the workmen for their courteous interactions and accommodating services. Definitely 5 stars all the way!

Left after two nights, owners non-responsive to noise issues
The house itself is lovely, clean and very well equipped, but it literally backs up to a noisy elevated Interstate highway and the constant truck and traffic noise made it impossible to sleep. We left after the second night of a paid for six night stay because it was not the peaceful Colorado getaway that we had hoped for. The owners were not responsive to our concerns and unwilling to offer any refund. This house might be ok in the winter but not in the summer when the windows need to be open, the noise is just totally unpleasant.

Family Vacation
9 of us stayed here for 2 nights as part of an 11 day vacation. We wish we had stayed here longer! Everyone loved the house. The only negatives are the parking, which we managed fine with an Expedition EL & Full Size Truck, and a few of the interior doors stick. The house layout is fantastic. The bus service and Sims market down the street are very convenient. We mountain biked, tubed down the river and enjoyed the fabulous German vibe in Vail village and devoured the delicious food at Alpenrose. We will be back for sure! Thank you for the affordable beautiful option in this amazing place.

Great home away from home ~comfortable, convenient, clean!
We spent a week in this beautiful place for my sisters wedding this fall. The Home sleeps 8-10 comfortably and the house itself is very comfortable for cooking in and having dinner to everyone having a seat to watch tv or play board games. We brought our dog and she stayed out on the deck the entire time -loving the cool air. We didn’t get a chance to get into the hot tub but it looked nice and clean and was hot when we arrived. We would highly recommend this property to anyone who wants to be close to Vail Villiage and everything it has to offer -you’ll enjoy being home as much as you do being out and about in the town. Initially we had a something that needed attention and despite the fact the owners were abroad, they were fully available and made sure that it was resolved quickly. VRBO also was so easy to work with in this and made sure everything was done in a timely fashion ~so very impressed. You always wonder what would happen if you needed something and I assure you that VRBO really does a good job. In the future we will be definitely be using VRBO and would stay at this Home again and again.

Two week stay at the Todd and Randi Stave home.
Overall, we where very pleased with our stay. We where pleased that Jason Peters was able to get the new hot-tub up and running for our family. Kim, the cleaning person, also did a fine job with getting everything ready. Regards, Joe and Ann Williams

Large, Clean and Near Shuttle Routes
We enjoyed this East Vail Property. There are multiple shuttle stops nearby to get to Vail ski area. The house is large and clean. There is a giant hot tub on the deck that easily fit our entire crew. It has a nice gas fireplace inside, good wifi, cable, etc.
The owner was very responsive and flexible with us on several items.

Family get together
Great space for our family of 10. Warm and dry. Perfect for our common meals and evening game playing.
Furniture and some other items could use updating. Hot tub needed some cleaning but it still felt nice.

Weekend Trip to Vail
We had a good stay at this property. Ideally suited if you plan to ski at Vail. The Vail bus shuttle pickup is very close by which made it easy to wake up and head over to the mountain without having to deal with loading up the car or dealing with parking lots, etc.

Would NOT stay here again . . . unless you want to be the Cleaning Service.
This Vail house is not as described . . . upon Friday check-in we found the garage recycle & garbage bins FULL of the previous guest's garbage making the stench in the lower bedrooms quite strong. Two calls to the "local contact" were of NO help. After three (3) emails to the Owners asking about the return of our deposit . . we received the Deposit less XXX " for trash removal". The fireplace doesn't work . . . and the gas grill is filthy . . we emptied the grease jar as it was overflowing on the deck. Beware of the "rules & regulations" . . . you'll need to do two loads of laundry, strip the beds and haul other guest's trash upon check-out - - despite the high cleaning fee. See above - would not stay here again - would not recommend renting from these Vail owners.

Had a great time!
Took my two teenagers for a summer vacation in Vail. House was great. Very clean and everything worked. Vail in the summer is a blast. We really enjoyed the white water rafting and the cattle roundup at a nearby ranch. Landlord very responsive to the few questions we had about where to find things in the house. We would happily stay here again.

Great place to stay
We had a great experience at this house, which we rented with another family (nine people total). This was our first time in Vail and we look forward to coming back and renting this house again! Everything was clean and in order. We enjoyed the hot tub, especially. The location was also great- we were able to take long, picturesque walks every day and ride bikes toward the mountains. I highly recommend this house.

Think twice about this one
My only complaint would have been that the owner didn't disclose that I-70 is directly above his house, literally a stone's throw. However, upon entering the house I was completely shocked given the strict the rules I had to sign. The house was not clean to the standards I would have expected and had a terrible smell. The most shocking thing was a picture we found on the counter of a nude man. This is not a fabrication folks and I am pretty sure it isn't typical but it did happen. The comforter in one room had a large white stain on it and rugs were filthy throughout the house, covered in hair. The pots and pans were covered in old food, the bath tubs had no stoppers so I couldn't bath my children, and the handyman left things out including the smoke detector which wasn't installed. The list goes on people but we made due and contacted the owner after our stay to let him know about the condition of his house and to ask for a refund due to the uncleanly condition of the house and my children finding an adult photo. The owner did not respond to email attempts and only returned my call after my 2nd message. At no point was there an apology and he wasn't willing to make any gesture of compensation whether full or partial. The request was not due to the fact the apts were empty nearby nor was a threat made to post a bad review. I have no reason to argue over the small amount of money we paid to stay here. The point was to inform the owner and hope that he would do the right thing. The only response I got was that he was going to speak with his cleaning crew and that he was not going to do anything for my family. At this point I am leaving a poor review. Common courtesy is to apologize and offer some form of compensation. This owner should also update his posting and be honest about the interstate running directly over his house. The pictures are taken in such a way you can't see it.

Will definitely make a return visit
The description was accurate and there was plenty of space for our family of 4. Conveniently located to everthing that we needed plus there are wonderful trails to hike from the home too. The property was well-equiped and we used the hot tub every evening -- yes, even though we were there during the summer. It was relaxing to see the views from the deck. The house was also clean which is critical.
We went white water rafting, went to the hot springs, Beaver Creek, downtown Vail, went to a rodeo, a real working ranch for dinner,....really, there was SO much to do and this house was a great location and easy to navigate to and from.
We cannot wait to return to Vail and stay here again.

Filthy, Leaves You Aghast!! College Frat House More Like It And Not Platinum At All
First off, I tried contacting the owner about this place, emailed, called and he didnt seem to care the condition of his rental property. He finally answered the phone and was unapologetic. The only thing this house has going for it is the view out the windows towards the mountains from the front of the property. Note that a steep deposit is asked from you but not sure for what because this property is nothing special inside as there are alot of damaged items already. The house needs major updates. Chipped cabinets, chipped paint, damaged kitchen ware, stained countertops, destroyed carpet and furniture so old the fabric is just hanging off. Its not a place to call home thats for sure! Here are some additional reasons I would not stay here: 1. A pornographic picture was found on the counter upon arriving at his location and we had kids that found it 2. The places has a terrible smell. We think its the nasty rugs in the house as you can smell an odor from them. 3. All of the rugs in the house are so old, including bathroom rugs that when we moved them they started disintegrating 4. Not a single bathtub had a tub stopper that worked, horrible for kids 5. You are asked to wash dishes and linens but no detergents of any kind were provided 6. Toilet paper as listed as you should bring it 7. Linens in the master king bedroom were dirty, had hair in the bed and the comforter had white stains all over it 8. Shower curtain in master bedroom reaks of mildew 9. This place was down right filthy. Its obvious the cleaning crew does nothing to maintain this place. In fact a to do list was sitting on the counter and none of it was completed. Its pretty sad that the owner of this establishment could care less about our disappointing stay and could care less about the way his place looks. I would not stay at this place ever bc saying its in platinum condition is a serious a huge joke!
