All was good

Food was good
The industrial over sized emergency lighting over the door in the room . Far too bright unable to cover due to high ceiling . May as well have left the lights on all night ! Plus the constant boiler noise opposite . Plus crumbling electric kettle base .

Room was lovely, price was great.
I added on my partner for breakfast and my little boy. But then got charged for 2 full continental breakfasts extra which I felt was extreme for a 4 year old boy who only had some beans, a sausage and potato.
4.0
Motel style accommodation to a high standard. All rooms in garden setting. Pub facilities accessible. Limited menu and gourmet style may not suit everyone. Breakfast & service excellent. Level access for guests with walking difficulties.

Breakfast was superb
A little tired, but not to bad
4.5
The room was very Comfortable, it served its purpose very well. we were tired. The staff are excellent. very friendly and eager to help along with a very and pleasant beer garden.
DEEP FRIED FOOD IN OIL. - Almost everything was dried in oil. The world has moved on and these antique ways of cooking are long gone.
Without question Breakfast and my dinner steak were the worst meals I have eaten (or left on the plate) in a very long time)
You need Gordon to come help.

The room was a great size with everything we needed, the staff were great,, very helpful and made us feel welcomed. There was a great choice of food on the evening menu, plentiful and very tasty. The breakfast was excellent, we will certainly be going back
The duvet seemed a bit small for a single bed

Food generally good - location excellent
This venue had the potential of being an excellent stay but was let down by what to us was a significant event of very poor service at our last breakfast and a couple of other incidents that spoilt what could have been a perfect stay.
The facility requires that residents agree a time for breakfast. Having agreed a time for our first breakfast later in the evening we were asked to bring the time forward by half an hour. On our last morning we turned up at the agreed time to find that all the other residents turned up at the same time of 9.00 am. It was not until after 9.40 am that our breakfast was served and unfortunately was not what was ordered requiring an even further delay. Even then we were not supplied with toast and there was a further delay before this was corrected. What was more disappointing was the lack of an apology.
Other concerns were that when we went to pay for an evening meal there was an attempt to overcharge by exactly £30. Again no explanation or apology when a challenge was made to the overcharge. No detailed bill was supplied.
Whilst our room was serviced on two of the days of our stay on one day it was not and no explanation given.

Great breakfast, tailored to one's requirements.
Great evening meals, from a wide choice.
Great staff, all of whom were friendly and cheerful.
Great location, peaceful and quiet.
Grating, over the well! Sixty-foot-deep to the water, in a passageway.

good location, friendly helpful staff. excellent breakfast included. big room.
it’s a bit tired, but at the price it’s not an issue.

The food was from frozen and small portions
3.5
The location is lovely and both the evening meal and breakfast were very tasty.
I've downgraded our review slightly because of the somewhat large, very green "security" light inside the room by the doorway. This glows all the time which we found rather annoying at night when trying to get to sleep. We recognise that it is a security measure but wonder if it needs to be so big and bright! Other than that our stay was good.

the property was good they were composed of little chalets so that was nice.
but when we arrived it was minus 2 degrees and there was not any heating out on for us but there was a small fan heater. my husband wanted a bath but the water wasn’t hot enough so we had to boil water from the kettle
the beds lots of springs very uncomfortable

The staff were very friendly, food was good, room clean, location idea for our needs. The pub has a very cosy atmosphere with log fires.
The room needs an update, the coffee table was wobbly, furniture serviceable, but dated The room was cold (not surprising considering the cold spell we were having), so the heating could have been put on earlier and turned up. The major issue was the mattress, we could fell the metal frame of the springs etc. In the end we slept on top of the quilt so we could not feel the springs. Now add the cold night and the heating going off it led to a sleepless and restless night, As we were only there for the 1 night we did not see the point in following up with the owners.

The staff are really friendly and helpful plus it has a real open log fireplace you can sit right next to. Breakfast was really nice and filling too, plus the bed was fantastic a nice firm mattress...bliss!
I'll definitely stay there again as it is only a couple of miles from where my daughter is moving to later this month.

Evening meal, breakfast and garden
5.0
The breakfast was freshly cooked and excellent. The room was spaceous, spotlessly clean, adequately equipped with generous provision of tea and coffee and a kettle. Bathroom also spotless, great fluffy towels on a heated towel rail. Bar served excellent food in the evening. Staff friendly and most helpful. easily accessible parking. I would stay there again when in the area.
