Sutton Hall has been sympathetically adapted to provide eight apartments, three cottages and three barn conversions. All accommodation is self catering, with a fully fitted kitchen (all crockery, cutlery and glassware is provided) Sutton Hall is set in 24 acres of manicured grounds, with woodland, a meadow (& a lazy river) running through. We also have a small indoor swimming pool, one outdoor hot tub and an infra red sauna. All of these facilities can be booked for up to an hours private use.
We have two tennis courts which are open from April - September.
You will find Sutton Hall Resort in the quaint village of Sutton-Under-Whitestonecliffe on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors, boasting heather-clad hills, picturesque villages, rugged scenery and a cosy country inn just a walk away.
Nearby, the Yorkshire Dales offer a wonderful variety of hill and river landscapes. Seaside resorts, fishing villages and rugged coastlines can be found at Scarborough, Bridlington, Robin Hood’s Bay, Ravenscar and Staithes.
Historic cities such as York and spectacular ruins such a Rievaulx Abbey are within easy reach.
Situated close to Sutton Bank on the A170, the top of the bank affords panoramic views of the plain of York Stretching between the Pennines and the Hambleton Hills. There is a large car Park and a comprehensive visitor information centre.
The Historic market town of Thirsk lies 3.5 miles away from the resort. In the town there is a picturesque country racecourse with excellent facilities. Thirsk is also well known as the home of James Herriot (Alf Wight, Obe) the world’s most famous vet.

Clean but a little tired. Not what I had expected but it served our purpose. We were there less than 12 hours. I had no idea we had to check in by a certain time. We were late and sent the needed info by email. I couldn't fill out the registration form as we arrived after the staff left and left before they arrived and I didn't have a pen. We had no use for the facilities.
No contact from the host before we arrived.

A great location situated between the hustle and bustle of York and the east coast with many options to explore the fabulous coutryside of the North Yorkshire Moors and the Yorkshire Dales.

Cottage was lovely and beds were comfy. Could maybe do with some modernisation but is fine the way it is!
I would like to comment on what I did not like though - when we arrived the pool was booked by the York Suite between 5pm-6pm, which was fine, first come first serve. We decided to go and have a look around the main building as we maybe plan on coming back and wanted to get a feel for the place. There was NOONE in the pool, system does not work. Annoying.
