Decent but not what I was looking for
The rooms were nice and comfortable
The fact we had to use an electric key to get electricity. It was very dusty The WiFi and signal was shocking we had to leave the house to get any kind of signal to make a call.

Don't stay here - it's ghastly,
If I talk about the location of this place in a fashion that is positive, I suspect that that solitary positive sentence in my review might be used, out of context, to imply this is an okay place to stay - when it really isn't. But the area is the only decent thing about the property.
This place is dirty, neglected and, when we stayed there, had lights that didn't work and three different appliances that were fitted with European plugs that had then been jammed into UK sockets - which is incredibly dangerous. The walls, carpets, chairs and sofa and ceilings were stained, the bath had black mould growing around it, and the cutlery and crockery in the kitchen had been put back into the cupboards dirty. I complained to the agent, who then tried to get me to deal directly with the landlord who lived abroad - he clearly wasn't interested in dealing with the matter himself, or taking responsibility for the property he was letting. When I persevered in my complaint, he eventually offered me a £100 refund, which I accepted - but given that the cottage had cost over £1000 to rent, this was really the least he could do, especially given the issue with the dangerous electrical appliances. Overall, I was relieved when the holiday ended and I was able to leave this place.

Special in some ways, but nice and, wow, what a location!
The location couldn’t be better. And the house was very English and that’s why. Very interesting.
well, everything is very small and also a little outdated. This is kind of nice for a couple of days, but you have to consider that.

Exceptional
Almost everything was great,- location, rooms.
Some little things, really don't matter. The oven did not work properly, the boiler I think is too small for 3 guest...

Loved the place and would stay again for sure.
Great centre location with loads of room in the house. It is a very cosy building and matches the ambience of the city around it. The house was well stocked which made things like cooking a lot easier.

Great location but some serious problems!
The location is fantastic - right in the centre and a really easy walk to cathedral, shops, restaurants, river. The price was good for five people. The cottage itself has potential to be lovely - full of character and reasonable sized spaces for five adults. Kitchen had plenty of crockery and pans though we missed having a toaster. The cupboards were full of leftover packets of basics from previous guests - good for us as no need to buy tea, coffee, salt etc. Maybe not so good if you like a cleaner, less cluttered feel. Felt a bit like borrowing a house from a slightly haphazard friend. When we had issues the owner/manager did respond to emails within a few hours.
Cleanliness could be much better - surface clean is ok, but things inside drawers and cupboards aren't Eg cutlery tray, crockery, lots of dust inside wardrobes, under furniture. The patio was a big disappointment as outdoor space is really important to us. Rubbish and recycling from previous guests piled up along one side, and a revolting large puddle with drowned slugs and scum from a blocked drain. I understand a blocked drain is just unfortunate but it was clearly already there when the property was prepared for us and looks like a recurring problem as signs of the water leaking into the kitchen regularly. We took photos, informed the manager and the blockage was cleared on our third day. There is also an occasional drip from the bathroom into the kitchen just above the sink - also clearly not new from the look of the ceiling. Disconcerting as is right below the toilet! The impression that problems tend not to get fixed here, is increased by lack of blind/curtain in top floor room. I noticed this was complained about last summer and the manager responded then that they were just trying to decide whether to replace with curtains or blinds. I guess they are still thinking! The bed in the middle floor bedroom is horrible. We are both slim and weigh only about 50 kilos each, but it sagged and creaked with every shift of weight. Had a look and there is no central support for the slats so they bend. The owners have tried to fix this by adding more offcuts of different timber, all taped together with gaffer tape, but this doesn't fix the sag and just makes it all creak as the different bits rub against each other. We had to laugh at the sight of it, and be thankful it was only three nights as we were stiff and tired - not the rest we needed! Highly recommend you do not book this property unless assured they have a new bed in this room! Beds in other rooms not so bad, though mattresses cheap and uncomfortable.

amazing for work or pleasure and we will defiantly be back
On the doorstep of the cathedral, in the very heart of Canterbury. You won’t get more central. the cottage is very quirky and cool. with amazing medieval features, but very homely also.
