Hotel is being renovated so while room accommodation was fine, the restaurant operation was a lower standard than past experience.

We enjoyed our stay! The facilities are amazing! Stand up paddle boards, 25 metre pool, volleyball, tennis, basketball, canoe, catamarans etc…
The rooms are tired but extremely clean!
The staff & buffet breakfast were excellent!

Very nice resort and beach/pool area. We loved the complimentary breakfast, wifi, sport and water activities.
Very friendly local staff - Sailing and kayaking in the lagoon was fantastic!

We stayed for 8 nights at the Holiday Inn in a resort facing room with a family of 4. The room was very nice and tidy. Good beds and linen. The pillows were a bit soft for our liking but not bad. The room was cleaned every day.
The food in the restaurant was great. Good variety and it tasted very good. The Hawaiian pizza was our favourite!
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We were really surprised at how nice all people in Vanuatu were. We travelled with a rental car and got to see a lot of the people and they are amazingly friendly. We will definitely go back to Vanuatu in the future.

Fantastic stay. Beautiful property peaceful and relaxing surrounded by beautiful gardens and lagoon. Transportation so easy to access and only a short drive to everywhere. Staff and management went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. Will be back for sure.

The Staff at the resort are spectacular - they are all so friendly and willing to help in anyway you need. They genuinely seem to want to help you enjoy your stay. Would recommend to anyone to stay here. The resort may not be our usual 5 Star resort but the staff makes up for anything it might be missing.

A little inconvenient to get from the hotel to the city center

Mayank at the reception was very knowledgeable and courteous, the dining was a repeated meals for the 7 days if there was a different menu at least every 3 days would be welcome, I even enjoyed the music at the lobby bar great music

I enjoyed staying at your property, as always. Been staying with your property.
Only wish you would put back the Chocolate Brownie with Vanila Ice Cream. The Chocolate Fudge was hard and I did not enjoy it.
do have more choices for desserts!

Twin-shared room with my beloved daughter as we dealt with the recent loss of a family member. Room was adequate, good space and configuration, in-room aircon and ceiling fan were a god-send. A few problems with door lock (fixed eventually). Hotel staff generally and restaurant staff in particular were fabulous, very caring and attentive. Alot of stairs so may not be ideal for those with mobility issues. Swimming pool was much appreciated too.

It was a lovely experience that created memories to hold on to. The hospitality and true care that staff had towards customers was heartwarming. Very beautiful resort and cleaned thorougly throughout. Thank you and hope to see you again soon

The local staff were always warm and friendly although some more training is required for customer facing staff, front of house staff.
Pools were clean and well maintained but lagoon swimming was out of bounds.
The food and beverage offerings are expensive although the quality is good - particularly breakfast buffet.
The property has a lot of stairs to access pools and the beach on the lagoon has been created and not greatly functional.
The accommodation wings are very dated . Bathrooms dont have extractors and fog up .
Ultimately this property is best suited to families with young children and it seems to be a focus for them. Not really an adult destination as facilities and accommodation aren't up to that level.
Spent 4 nights and overall enjoyed Vanuatu however we will try a different ' resort' next time.

Well, what can I say… I was blown away by the total experience that Holiday Inn Vanuatu offered… from the time we checked in, to the gala NYE dinner, to every little request through our 7 day stay.
Front office Manager Mayank Kothari ensured our family felt all at home and always greeted us with a smile; no request was ever frowned upon and I know some of the requests made were pushing it.
Randy was a great host and was seen everywhere in the resort gracing his infectious smile.
Chefs Ram, Aaka and Clinton always made it a point to visit us during meals time permitting of course ensuring all our palates were satisfied.
Couldn’t not mention Matilda from front office and Tom - who helped out during a late night emergency for their excellent hospitality.
Live music most nights was excellent and set the mood for a wonderful evening. The Malenasian and Curry night with the local performers and fire show was outstanding.
Although the rooms were a bit dated and breakfast and lunch options could run out especially with longer stays, I wouldn’t hold it against the joint given the amazing mix of local and expats putting up a great show. Gym can be missed, not worth a visit. Spa is great though.
All in all, one of the best holidays we have had in a while, thanks to the wonderful staff at Holiday Inn Vanuatu.
We will be back soon to relive the wonderful experience we had last week.

The resort is still re-establishing all the facilities after the pandemic shutdown but the staff are wondeful, its a nice central position and rooms are clean and comfortable.

If you're looking for a place to go, this is the place in Port Villa. The staff here will make your journey an memorable one. Highly recommended.

Room dampness and poor temperature control and a steady flow of cockroaches made us uncomfortable.knowing what the island has been through led us not to complain but we could not say we were comfortable!

My recent stay at the Holiday Inn was a blend of positive experiences and areas that could benefit from improvement. The staff's friendliness and professionalism stood out, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The outdoor facilities, including the pool and tennis court, kayaks, contributed to a resort-like ambiance. The breakfast selection, especially the omelette station and fresh coconut, added a delightful culinary touch. The staff were amazing!
However, there were aspects that needed attention. Housekeeping lacked consistency, with varying supplies of towels and face washers. Breakfast items' freshness fluctuated based on the time of arrival, suggesting a need for better replenishment strategies. Basic dinner options like garlic bread and pizza were disappointing, leading me to explore dining outside.
Long-term considerations included an outdated entrance that could benefit from a fresh coat of paint for a more inviting welcome. Bathroom ventilation was totally inadequate, leading to foggy mirrors after showers. The shower curtains did little to prevent water leaking. The outdated room decor and undersized pillow covers detracted from the overall experience, though the rooms were clean. We had to request additional covers so the pillow wasn’t on display.
In conclusion, the Holiday Inn offers a mix of positive aspects and areas for improvement. By addressing these issues, it has the potential to enhance the guest experience and elevate its overall quality.

This was our 4th stay at this hotel, the staff and service is exceptional. This was our first time back in about 5 years and I was a bit disappointed to see the hotel looking pretty tired, the rooms are functional but pretty well worn. It’s been a rough few years for Vanuatu though, so it’s all pretty understandable.

lovely old place with fab service
ideal for families and young people
Not so good for oldies like me due to all the stairs
but I enjoyed a good holiday there

Good location of hotel and comfortable beds. However the highlights were the fantastic pool area, excellent food and extremely friendly and helpful staff. We had a fantastic time for 1 week here (2 adults and 2 kids ages 6 and 3).
Would happily stay here again.

The Holiday Inn is an older resort, by some standards, but it is clean, comfortable, quiet and it”s food is fresh and delicious. One of the best parts of the resort is that it HAS THE MOST AMAZING STAFF. They are soooo friendly and helpful. My family of 5 (with 3 young adult children) couldn’t have been looked after better.

Our family of 4 (two older teens and two adults) loved our stay at the Holiday Inn. Yes, IHG needs to spend some money to bring some of the infrastructure up to scratch but it's perfect understandable given the impact of COVID and the cyclones. Most importantly the staff and management at this hotel are amazing! The amenities are great (just a little tired) with a choice of 2 pools and fun activities, the restaurant and the bar as well as well maintained gardens. The food was very good - great quality and range of things on offer in a lovely setting. The staff are beautiful; friendly, funny, kind. We were extremely impressed with management too - nothing was too much trouble. They do a lot to change things up and keep it interesting for guests with special nights and entertainment. The kids were impressed with the WIFI.

Definitely stay in Vanuatu at the Holiday Inn, but maybe don't stay here just yet.
In the room/resort there is no compendium, map or information about facilities in the resort so we wandered around and found things ourselves. The activities list in the activities hut looks to be from pre-covid times as we haven't seen any of those activities happening whilst we've been here. On rainy days we borrowed board games from the kids club for something to do.
Our other travel company didn't tell us that you can't swim in the lagoon as its riddled with E Coli and unsafe to do so until at least 2026 but both pools are still functioning and clean. The kids pool is so much fun for the littlies and has been cleaned whilst weve stayed. You have to bring plenty of sunscreen as the pools do not have much shade and the sun in Vanuatu bites hard.
Resort breakfast is good with the egg/omelette station and barista coffees the real stand outs. Breakfast staff are absolutely lovely and welcoming, as is Helen at reception.
Dinner food is okay, similar to a pub menu in Australia and no signs of local cuisine unless you attend the Melanesian feast night (Tuesday) with cultural dance and song (food is fantastic but entertainment does tend to drag on).
The curry buffet and fire show (Thursday) has fantastic tasty food and the show is great for the family. There's been some people visiting from Holiday Inn corporate this week and we've seen more cleaning and organising from the staff than ever.

Staff were always happy, polite and friendly. The amenities were clean and comfortable. The new hotel manager is working towards updating and improving the resort which has been like the country affect by the Covid pandemic. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and recommend this resort

The staff were very friendly, available and helpful. The accommodation was very comfortable. The use of kayaks and boats was fun.

The rooms are dirty. Towels and Bedsheets stained. Floor always feels gritty. Staff are not always bothered to help you when needed.
Area around the holiday inn was beautiful. Food at hotel was average.

Old but nice hotel. Needs bit of work. Food was great, crew too. You can’t swim in lagoon because is infected with some bacteria. Pool is very good. Be ready for long time orders preparing, but that’s on whole island. Prices are too high for food and drinks. Use local drivers for island trips. All tours companies are overpriced. Money change you can do in the city. High percentage for credit cards payments .

We stayed at bungalows and loved the room, balcony and view to the breathtaking lagoon. Staff are amazing and very helpful. There are lots of families with kids in the main building and lobby which was my only problem. I would say this place is ideal for families, rather than couples or solo travellers

Great stays for family with young kids
Great facilities and good value all round
3.0 / 5.0
The staff were all very friendly and courteous. The Resort was clean but there were a number of things that weren't working or needed repairs.I feel that they weren't prepared after COVID lockdown to receive guests as some staff didn't know what to do.The lagoon and golf course which are special to the property unfortunately both could not be used. There were quite a few guests commented about no shuttle service even though the Resort has 3 minivans available.
