Sadly the hotel was overcrowded the first night with a special event. The atmosphere was pretty chaotic and not the “spa” type experience you’d expect. Also the wine glasses were filthy, I had to ask for a new glass 3 times as all were dirty. Not ideal.
The spa pool was cold and jacuzzi not working also we were only given a very short “complimentary” period to be able to use the spa facilities and weren’t given spa robes /towel or slippers/flip flops. We only used the facilities for 15mins as we’re quite disappointed with it overall. Definitely wouldn’t pay extra to use these facilities.

The service in the dining room for the evening meal was poor, unprofessional and on one occasion rude. The temperature in the dining room was cool and when we mentioned this to the staff member taking us to the table responded by telling us “you can’t please everyone!”. We had to wait 20 from being seated for someone to take our drinks order. When the waitress eventually stopped talking to an off duty colleague she was very off hand even rudely corrected my pronunciation of a menu item. There was at least 20-30 minutes between courses. Two of the 4 mains arrived first the the other two mains were not we ordered so the waiter then wandered around the room to find who had ordered them before returning to the kitchen to get the correct order. Following completion of our mains it was at least 35 minutes before someone came to remove the dirty dishes but left one, saying he would be back but failed to return. We had to eventually try to attract the attention of a staff member to be given a desert menu and he made a flippant remark about how busy he was as an excuse for not giving us one earlier. We then had to wait even longer when we asked for the bill as the waitress was again having a conversation with her colleagues rather than attending to guests. So overall a very poor experience and obviously declined to pay the service charge.
We did report this to the front of house manager on duty who said she would pass on our observations to the management team but no response

Room was very underwhelming
The room was for someone with disabilities as we had emergency pull cords and the sink was just above knee height.
Windows didn’t close properly so could hear the wind whistling through. The staff used toilet paper to stop the draft. And after the morning shower we had a smell of drains in the room. Not very good value for the money.

Nice hotel in a great location. The staff were nice and friendly and help full.
The gym is small which was the only down point.

Room was dirty, chairs where covered in make up, the shower was blocked, we booked the superior king double room, should have had two king beds only had one and a small double. The food was cold or raw. Poor service overall very disappointed for a double tree.

We have been staying at the majestic for 25 yrs now and this dtay was not the best - first we were only allowed an hour in the spa which is not normally the case ,then at our half board evening meal one of the chefs had to leave which I appreciate can happen and is out of the hotels hands ,but we had an hour and a half wait between starter and mains during this period a lot of people just got up and left there meals.
Again in the morning there was a 20 min queue for breakfast and when we finally sat down there was not much left on the hot plate or the fruit areas and all in all made for a disappointing stay - however what I would say is we have stayed many times in the past and it has been really good .

Amazing stay. The reception staff went out of their way to make it a comfortable stay for me. Lini was a superb host. He made me feel welcome as soon as I arrived and went above and beyond every day, no matter what my request was. Nataljia and Ashley were friendly, accomodating and patient no matter how many phone calls I made. The food was good and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Room 508 is beautiful. Thank you for the wonderful stay.

Excellent stay once again. The room was well equipped & spacious (room 326).
There was only one coffee pod available for morning coffee- but apart from that - it was really good.

Do not stay at this Hotel if you are expecting a Hilton experience. The state of the rooms were unclean, scratches and chips out of the walls, toothpaste left splattered on the bathroom mirror, crumbs and dirt all around the dressing table and kettle / cup tray, no plug sockets next to the bed so you can't plug in a fan at night when it's 20+ degrees outside. Also charged over £10 for a pint of coke and half an orange juice. Paid £126 for this experience and it wasn't even worth paying £26.

Probably the worst DoubleTree I’ve ever stayed in. Have to pay for parking which is quite expensive and would normally expect to get parking for free for overnight guests. Hotel is quite run down and isn’t the cleanest. Our room smelt stale as if someone had been smoking in it. We like to sleep with curtains half drawn to let daylight in in the morning but couldn’t as awful neon blue spotlights were being shone directly into our room. The bar is very very noisy, music is too loud and we could hear every word of the music in our room. We had to phone and complain about the noise but nothing was done. Music did eventually get turned off at 1am. All in all I wouldn’t stay here again and would discourage people to stay here, for the money it’s very poor and there are better hotels in the area.

Great hotel ,only problem i have is with the late check in time, 4pm.I have stayed here many times and always arrived a little early, very happy to wait until 4pm for my room but wanted to use the pool. Never been a problem before but this time i was unable to use the pool at 2.30 pm. It now seems you are not allowed to use the facilities until 3pm.Otherwise excellent hotel and great staff.

Staff were all very courteous, polite and helpful. Spa was lovely with the sauna pool steam room and jacuzzi. There were no changing room cubicles at the spa. Food and drink choices and quality were excellent. Room had swan towels and petals and an Anniversary card for us.

Great hotel and room, EV charging was a bonus. Lots to eat and drink in the local area too.

Very tired hotel in major need of refurbishment. Hilton standards have really slipped over the last few years. Carpets were filthy and stained throughout the hotel and in our room. No air con which made for an uncomfortable night. Poor tiny lifts which made getting to and from the 5th floor a task. Staff were pleasant and breakfast buffet was well stocked.

Nice hotel but staff at reception where more interested in a wedding party and had no problem with the wedding party and other pushing in from of people at reception and serving the wedding party over other guests. In addition we pains £30 parking where we was told to park be hotel staff then on check in told parking is only £15 and we should not have paid the meter.

The property was ok. A little dated and hot. The two fans in our room didn’t help much so a comfortable nights sleep was out of the question. The staff were all incredible, which made the difference. Oh and the food was delicious but a bit expensive…

Imposing and very interesting property. furniture in bedroom although once very expensive and nice is tired and needs refurbishing. The sofa in our bedroom could not be used as the seat cushions were too far gone so the hotel brought a chair up so we could sit in the room at the same height. Not really good enough.
Dinner was nice and the overall service was good. The dessert however was not up to scratch and although not completely eaten, this was still fully charged, this was after sending the first one back. I didn't complain a second time but felt we shouldn't have been charge for this element of the meal.
This was my son's birthday treat and he loved it, but I thought the lack of a view from the bedroom, VERY dirty windows and net curtains, TV that even after being set up by maintenance, still didn't work properly.
I really wanted to give this hotel top marks, however, I felt let down and disappointed over our room and part of the evening meal.

Great location and services but was let down by the coolness of customer care by some of the staff, however there were true gems who went beyond to provide the best customer service.

This hotel is tired.
It’s so hot it was unbearable and the fan we had was full of dust and hair (yuk!)
We both had spa treatments and I think my eight year oil could have done a better facial. It’s a shame as the bones of this place are amazing, but it desperately needs an upgrade, and some staff training in the spa!

The room was so hot, bedding was dirty, trucking was falling off and the shower flooded

We booked into a spa hotel to gain access to the spa for treatments. The were none available. The gardens, which looks lovely on the pics we're also unavailable because of an event going on and we weren't informed of this. This was a gift for my 65th birthday so we didn't even stop for one night. The male receptionist was very helpful, offering us free breakfasts, however we decided to leave as we couldn't access the reason we had gone there.

Lovely stay, just a couple of minor problems that could be easily improved.
Parking is terrible not enough spaces for guests I had to park on street and then got a ticket but suppose after paying the fine it wasn’t much more than the cost of the parking anyway.
Also stood at the bar for 30-40 mins and staff didn’t serve in order of waiting, just kept going to nearest person depending on there position at the bar other than that it was fine

Harrogate itself was lovely and the hotel location was good. Unfortunately the hotel rooms was far too warm and the meal in the restaurant was overpriced.

Hotel reception was lovely and clean. Receptionist could have been a bit more welcoming! My husband tried to ask a question but she couldn’t answer it (not sure if in training?).
Room was huge!! Bathroom was gorgeous. Mini fridge if needed. Bed was comfy. Could have done with a plug at bedside.
We had dinner - food was delicious. However my husband asked for a pint of cider (served in their lobby bar) but was told it wasn’t served in dining room? No offer of popping through to get one? Then we asked a question about a dish and a different waitress came back to take rest of order?? Seemed a little unorganised which was a shame.
Breakfast - loads to choose from however hot buffet was Luke warm. We had stayed previous night at a different Hilton and their breakfast was roasting hot so it can be done.
Hotel in walking distance of town centre and transport links. We went to Royal baths Chinese one night - amazing!!
Overall despite some minor issues would recommend hotel

Room service food was awful. more batter than fish, green liquid for peas, basically no peas at all. Drink I ordered never arrived. Room is so dated and old, smelt dirty and you couldn't see out the windows because they were so dirty. Also terrible internet for a hotel these days.
