Lift broken down up two floors room very comfortable and well prepared by Susan menu was limited due to the refurb but was very nice the new bar area was very well decorated if the rest of the hotel is going to be of the same standard ?
1.5
The hotel is undergoing refurbishment and parts are rather shabby. It only had 1 lift and went out of action during our stay resulting in a long difficult walk up 3 floors.
2.5
A lovely hotel, room was fantastic, everything we needed, very clean, very spacious, we could of had our room made up every day but opted out, food was excellent, the only comment I'd give was that they need more staff at breakfast time, they were lovely, very helpful & friendly but seemed to be very stretched. Apart from that no complaints whatsoever. If we're ever that way again, will definitely stay there & also reccomend to our friends & family.
2.5
Great welcome and a lovely stay, helpful staff, very nice room and the breakfast was lovely.

It was for our wedding anniversary, love Canterbury and was our first visit to the hotel.
Beautiful place, shame we had scaffolding at the back of us, which we looked on to, really rattled and the plastic was flying around due to the high winds.

Staff were nice, hotel communal areas were nice. Room was nice but bed was uncomfortable and shower was well used.
2.5
Very good hotel, staff are friendly. 10 min walk to the city centre shops, free parking , rooms are clean. Breakfasts were very nice
Only down side, WiFi not the best and bar is a bit pricey
1.5
Decent hotel for the price, Wi-Fi was shocking and requires upgrading.

the staff make the most of our trip. Friendly, helpful, always welcoming and looking happy. Stay here if you are driving to Canterbury since this hotel offers free parking and it is not far to the cathedral by walking. Happy stay!

The property is undergoing refurbishment at the moment but was still very comfortable had a meal not a great choice but that maybe because of the changes to the hotel, breakfast was good.
1.5
The bed was too firm and the room was cold.

Lovely staff very friendly, nothing too much ,
We had one of the newly refurbished rooms , which was very tastefully well done

Mostly a good stay. Lots of parking. The walk to the cathedral is about a mile. The room was clean and comfortably, but no fridge. The bar was deficient in its offerings: not a single English ale, no pale ale, no IPA. The worse event was that there was a false fire alarm at 10:30 pm, forcing all the guests to evacuate. Another guest made a statement I overheard that suggested the same thing had happened that morning. I cannot independently confirm this, but if was true, the hotel needs to address this issue.

Beautiful building lovely staff and everything we needed

The hotel staff were very nice but as a hotel it’s not great. The biggest issue I had was there was no mattress protector on the bed which I was shocked by. Maybe I’m too fussy but I would expect every hotel to use mattress protectors. The restaurant was closed and breakfast wasn’t great. Orange juice was watered down and definitely not fresh. All in all not great value for money and quite a long walk into the town centre along a very busy main road.
2.5
A great location for walking into the centre of Canterbury.
Hotel rooms are a basic and perhaps dated, but the new bar area is very nice. Restaurant closed for refurb so can’t comment on that, but with so many good non chain restaurants just 10 minute walk away it’s not an issue at all.
Staff friendly and room quiet too.

Very nice hotel in a good location.

Pleasant hotel on walking distance from city centre. Free parking. The announced renovation was hardly observed, so did not impact our stay at all.

Newly refurbished rooms are very comfortable.
Request for adjacent rooms was not met but 1 of our rooms could have been interconnected

Love the speaker in the bathroom!!!

Situated in a convenient location close to shopping. The room we stayed in was very spacious, had good facilities including a comfortable bed and quite clean, although the view wasnt great and the WiFi signal was awful. Nicely decorated in the foyer and reception areas but the dining area for breakfast in the morning was quite dated and dark. The breakfast overall was alright with some options but not very substantial and the bar food was a bit expensive. Would stay again but suggest going elsewhere for food.

2 night trip - everything worked - room was comfortable - staff were pleasant. They are working hard on upgrades - the hotel will likely be even better soon.

Nice hotel just outside the hubbub of Canterbury. Lovely room though a small issue with the shower.

Carpark needs a good clean up which would give a great look and not too expensive. This should at least be a weekly occurrence.
Our room was a newly refurbished room which was very good and two goon nights sleep were had.
Breakfast was excellent

We stayed in a refurbished deluxe suite. The room was very nice, although the air conditioning wasn’t that efficient on the hottest day of the year so far also very hard pillows. The bar had recently re opened, we had dinner in there the first night, it was ok but only one member of staff serving meant slow service. We had breakfast - this was ok but not amazing. Very convenient walk into the city centre ( about 10 mins )

Close walk to town great location & very friendly staff & comfortable room

Stayed for 3 nights. It was a fabulous hotel to stay in. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. The room was big and luxurious, recently re-furnished. It was in the heart of Cantebury everything in walking distance to the Cathedral and town centre. Would definitely stay again and would highly recommend this hotel.

Clean and new furnished room, comfy bed, great experience:)

Hotel smart enough but odd bits need attention. Gardens rather overgrown. Toilet door didn’t shut properly.
Found sound carried rather through bedroom walls!
All staff were perfect though.

We stayed for two nights whilst visiting Canterbury and were very glad we had chosen this hotel. It was undergoing some refurbishment whilst we were there but this didn’t affect us in any way. We had an Executive room which appeared to have been recently refurbished - it was large, clean and very comfortable. There were masses of electricity sockets, USB sockets next to the bed, a large safe, a kettle, an iron and ironing board. Breakfast was very good with a wide choice of cold food together with a menu of hot food cooked to order - my husband had the kippers which were excellent! There was a reasonably sized car park where we felt very happy to leave our car for the duration of our stay. The city centre is about a 15 minutes walk away and, as well as the sights, there are lots of good restaurants there. We would definitely stay there if we came to Canterbury again and would highly recommend it.

Does what it needs to. It's a little bit too far out of town unless you drove, but not too bad - 20min walk max. Clearly once a grand place and recently re-done with some snazzy gadgets. But the blinds didn't cover the windows and the curtains barely exist, the Aircon is very temperamental/quite aggressive, the TV speaker plays in the bathroom too which is cool when it works but in our one night stay worked for about five minutes (most of the time just the one in the bathroom worked, often neither speaker worked), breakfast is a bit basic, and worst of all theres no signal and the WiFi just doesn't work. Appreciate it's not number one for everyone but these days the WiFi not working (and there being no signal) it just makes everything so much harder. Pay another £15 and stay in the Premier Inn, or another £30 and stay in the Hampton - they're both better.

We loved the power of the shower. The hotel itself is set in an old building, and it showed with the creakiness of floorboards and thinness of walls, meaning you could hear conversations and movements in hallway and neighbouring rooms.
Nice and close to the city centre (15 min walk to centre of high street) and good amount of onsite parking, which is a rare feature in Canterbury.

Wonderful room. Our window overlooked the buildin works being done but didn't bother us. Staff really helpful.

Notwithstanding the notification of the refurbishment works prior to arrival, it was noisy. Reception wanted to charge me at check in despite the fact that I had already paid. Room next door awake at 5am and boy did you know it (both days I stayed). I had a tight schedule in the morning but was kept waiting 30 minutes to be served breakfast. Breakfast would not have kept an ant alive. Tried to speak with the reception to have a window opened in the room that morning, but he was busy. Had to leave him a note (window was opened to be fair upon my return). Nobody at reception when I was trying to check out (during another tight schedule) so had to leave another note. Really disappointed to be honest, but very good note paper available - bonus. Not recommended.
