I was not able to experience the property or surrounds because of Air Vanuatu going into voluntary liquidation, but the staff there particularly Morgan Bragg was sensational, extremely helpful and very caring.

Wonderful owner & staff. Very helpful. Cute little place that will make you feel like your have a more remote stay. Nice restaurant next door. Good access to Port Vila.

The property is no longer called Lagoon Gardens and was very hard to find with that in mind the rooms could have some minor maintenace done to them to make them nice

Morgan was very welcoming and helpful getting us acquainted to Port Vila. He went out of his way to make our short stay with him memorable. If you’re looking for a local experience talk to Morgan and he’ll sort you out.

Property is run down and not as clean, however the staff service was exceptional, they were so helpful and provided an amazing service overall. The property has a good view and outdoor area where you can relax. Breakfast was amazing.

Nice, private, individual bungalows. Beautiful gardens and decking beside the lagoon. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Free breakfast was more than adequate with fresh tropical fruit. Requires some tlc but for the price it's easy to overlook.

We had the most enjoyable stay at Lagoon Gardens (Villa Chaumieres). Owners and staff were kind and helpful and we felt like we were welcomed into their own home here. Miriam took us out an an amazing day trip to explore the surrounding hotspots for both tourists and locals. I would highly recommend anyone to book here.

As a solo traveller I had the best time here and even extended my stay for a few extra nights!
The bungalow was spotless and surrounded by nature and even if I happened to be there on rainy days it was just so relaxing and peaceful!
10 min ride from town with an easy access to buses just out front.
All the staff is quiet amazing, kind and attentive.
Big shout to Myriam and Morgan for always looking after me and for the great service&recommendations!
Will definitely be back ♥️

We enjoyed our stay. Beautiful lagoon view, big rooms and balconies. Friendly, helpful staff. The place has a relaxed vibe that suited us. Easy transport to town on local buses. Morgan will organise any bookings or tours for you. We will return.

I really enjoyed my stay. The staff was super friendly and helped me booking tours and getting to places. The bungalow had everything you need (fridge, microwave, kettle, cutlery...).
It was easy to catch a bus into Vanuatu town for 150 Vatu. The breakfast (coffee, tea, toast, jam, eggs, pancakes, peanut butter, fruit) with a view overlooking the water was lovely.

The vegetation around the property was lovely. We had a view of the lagoon but it was unsafe to swim or snorkel so we didn't use it. It appears that the place has had a tough time with Covid and other matters. Morgan was great and helpful. Pictures on the website are older. Several areas on the property could be updated.

We booked here for one night, but we were left stranded by the airline, so we stayed for three nights: It has been a beautiful experience, the staff was incredibly helpful and kind, they helped us in every way they could. The place is quiet and charming, the garden beautiful, breakfast is rich, and we enjoyed the view on the lagoon and the free kayaks. Very good value for money, if you are looking for tranquillity.

We had a fantastic time at this location. The staff were so helpful and couldn't help us enough. There is a relaxed vibe at the location, and the reviews regarding the great breakfasts are true!
It is super easy to catch a bus into the main town or even stroll. There is a supermarket close by and our favourite bakery the Shefa.
We highly recommend this place!

Nice spot to base yourself to explore Efate! The included breakfast was really tasty (toast, fruit, coffee and eggs or pancakes for our two days). It was good to learn that you can use their kitchen to prepare your own meals as there is no restaurant on site. There is a supermarket and more accommodation serving meals within walking distance. Our room was above the reception, so there was a bit of noise from downstairs as we sat on the balcony at night time, but couldn't hear it once inside the room with the door shut.

We arrived..it was not what we booked..no beach..room was not clean
.pool was filthy with a clothes line of washing hanging around. Couldn't sit outside room because of mozzies. The owner did give us some money back and the staff were lovely but it is not what's advertised

Beautiful place to stay 👌 And the breakfast was delicious!

We arrived in the dark and spent 10 minutes trying to find reception. Lighting was poor and we needed to turn on phone torches to see. We arrived around 7 pm to find they had no restaurant, however they did ring the resort next door and we walked up there for dinner. We only had one night so probably hard to rate the rest. Staff were helpful and rooms were well appointed as far as what they had in them.

Staff was pleasing & co-operative as when wifi & TV was not working then changed the room upon request

Perfect stay in Port Vila. Beautiful gardens, lovely view from the rooms of the lagoon, the owners were really friendly and so helpful, felt right at home. And a great breakfast included to top it off! Would stay again and recommend :)

It was quiet and on the creek leading to the lagoon. Bus stop out front made it easy and affordable to get to town when needed for money changers or restaurants. Shopping centre just down the road as well. Staff were welcoming and helpful.

Great service, beautiful place.

We stayed in the second floor unit with a balcony which allowed for a view of the lagoon. The veranda over the water was nice to have dinner on, as we had it to ourselves the nights we decided to cook in.
This was back in January, so tourism just gearing up again after Covid, a few small hiccups to be expected, but nothing major. The staff and owner very helpful with any requests.
The path to the accommodation is beautiful, feels like walking in a paradise garden.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Awesome breakfast! Really enjoyed my stay.

The eating area is beautiful, peaceful and fresh.
In spite of the cyclone effects the property was functioning well. But dinner was missing.
Hot water was limited, basically shower with cold water. In general, i enjoyed and felt comfortable. Very friendly staff.

Just loved 👍

Port Vila had just suffered 2 cyclones in a week cutting out electricity for large parts of the island. When we stayed, Vila Chaumieres still had no power, apart from a small generator. That has an impact on your stay but is beyond their control.
The staff were amazing and friendly to try and make the stay as good as possible in the circumstances.

The highlight of my stay in Vanuatu - for its tranquility and stunning natural setting. Paddling on the lagoon at dusk is stunning. A morning coffee or afternoon cold drink on the balcony looking out over the lagoon is magic. I really felt I knew the staff like friends after a couple of nights, such a helpful and friendly place. They helped me organise activities easily, and there are some great dining options along the lagoon. I'm missing the place already.
2.5
We had a great experience in Vila Chaumieres, which felt like a home away from home. Our flight was cancelled and they were extremely flexible with everything. The room was spacious and clean and the breakfast with a view to the lagoon was lovely experience. What is more, they spent significant amount of time and effort to help us arrange our transportation to Tanna after we missed our connecting flight. Would highly recommend this place!
