The staff was so incredibly friendly and accommodating. I really wished I could give this place 5 stars but unfortunately for us, we had to switch rooms. The first room had mold specs all over the bathroom door and walls. The air conditioner also wasn’t working properly in the room. It was cooler to open the windows wide and turn off the air. We dropped it down to 64*F and it was blowing out warm air. I checked with the front desk staff to ask if we could change rooms and he was super friendly and accommodating and took me to the new room to check. He did mention that the temperature would unfortunately be the way it is because the air conditioner is controlled by a main controller. I already felt like I was being a bother so I only checked the bathroom door and it looked okay. But once we settled into our new room, there was still a ton of mold specs in the bathroom. The air conditioner worked in the new room so it was nice and cool. But overall I can tell the ventilation was bad, and that’s probably where the mold comes from. We had to open the window everyone we showered to let out the hot air.
Besides the mold specs and warm air, it was a decent room for Tokyo. The staff are friendly and they try their best to make you feel at home.

The Kadoya isn’t a fancy hotel, with a small lobby and limited services. Our room with two single beds was a bit rough, looking a little worn, but the room size was adequate. The bed was a little firm for my liking. You do hear street noise and ear plugs were necessary. But the HVAC was extremely quiet and the bathroom with generous shower and fancy Toto toilet were a treat. It’s close to Shinjuku and close to a great many restaurants. My wife and I are glad we stayed here, and we’ll be back to the Kadoya later in our Japanese holiday.

Nice small hotel, close to train station, with food close by. good location. We had small room, but no worse than other hotel we stayed in Tokyo

A nice place to stay. The location is good, which is easily accessible to train station, also shopping centre.
The hotel is a bit small, but it's acceptable for Japanese hotel.
Everything is up to standard.
There are skincare in the lobby that you can use which is good.

Good location but you don’t get much for a high price. Breakfast pretty poor

They were very friendly and accommodating and all spoke English well which helps. The facility is small but clean. I do wish there was a lobby with seating but typical of Tokyo. They have sundries for free. The neighborhood isn’t in the main “Golden Gai” part of Shinjuku which was a plus in my opinion but there’s a great shopping/dining area across the street and it’s got a subway station entrance right down the street!

Appreciated the fact it was so close to Shinjuku station. I would absolutely recommend getting the breakfast, as the cafe is a great place to have your first meal of the day. Very walkable to many things. Staff were excellent. I would consider staying here again if I visit Tokyo.

Excellent location 5 minutes walk from SHINJUKU station, and close to Metropolitan Government building and Sompo Museum of Art. Many eateries and convenience stores nearby. Small hotel with friendly, helpful staff. Excellent daily rate - very good value for money.

Our family of four stayed in a quad room - though small, worked for all of us. The hotel & room was clean and the staff very friendly & helpful. The location is ideally situated near metro & train stations as well as multiple dining options near by. We'd stay here again.

This small hotel is perfectly located near Shinjuku Station. Absolutely loved having such great accessibility. The room was of a good size and very clear. Fantastic water pressure! Many great restaurants near by! Great option!

Stayed at Kadoya Hotel for 5 nights. Room was small as in most Tokyo hotels, but adequate. Quiet and convenient. Close to the busy Shinjuku area. Very helpful staff. Will try to book a bigger room for our next visit as it was impossible to do work (if you need to) due to room size constraints.

Wifi is not stable and slow speed.

Friendly staff, nice facilities, close to all the action in Shinjuku. Will definitely consider Kadoya again for my next stay in Tokyo!

The staff were wonderful during both of my stays at this hotel.
It’s also hard to beat the location
5.0
I was a little scared that the location would be noisy at night but not at all. It was dead quiet. The staff was phenomenal: extremely helpful and welcoming without being overbearing.
The room was small but it’s what to be expected for a single bed room in Tokyo.
Will definitely stay again on my future Japan trips.

This property is a no frill property. The advantage of staying here is the location. It is clean but lack amenities that you would get at other properties. The bed we stayed in was sagging on one side. The light in the bathroom was dark. We asked the front desk to see if it could be fixed but we were told that’s the norm. So we opted to keep the bathroom door open so the hallway light could permeate to the bathroom. We were part of a group and others in the group stated their bathroom light was bright. The front desk barely spoke English so it was a challenge to communicate. We purchased breakfast at the hotel for 6 days and got the same fixed menu. American or Japanese. No fresh fruit. It was not the usual buffet. Aside from the hotel being clean and its location. I probably am not planning to stay in the future.

Great location, the room for 4 of us was good with 4 single beds. The room was a little small, but appreciated that 4 individual beds were provided. Laundry facility available which was great. Staff all friendly, professional and helpful. The area is great, near the JR line, shops nearby as well as many restaurants. Overall had a wonderful experience at this hotel.

The front desk staff were amazing! They worked with my weak Japanese skills and their assistance with luggage delivery took a weight off.

No closets to hang your clothes in the tiny room, only give you 1 big towel and 1 hand towel at a time.

Just be aware that this a budget hotel with very small rooms and minimal services.

I did get to the hotel extra early, and asked kindly if they could let me in the room early. They made me wait forever, but the rules are the rules. The front desk staff hardly spoke English, very surprised that in a major city, the a lack of English-speaking front desk staff. VERY TINY room. The bathroom was smaller than a cruise ship. OK here are all the positives. Very clean room. The front desk staff were always smiling (but little English), and very nice staff. Great housekeeping staff. Elevator, refrigerator, and very quiet room on the 10th floor. The GIANT Shinjuku train station is only about 5 blocks away. Great local restaurants all within walking distance. The purpose for choosing this hotel was I took many day trips and they all seemed to depart within a block or two of the hotel. Overall I would stay at this hotel again. Daniel- USA.

The staff here were very receptive and helpful. Room, ours, was a reasonable size and amenities were adequate. Dissapointed that there were no english language television channels, so the rest of the world was off our radar.

Stayed at Kadoya Hotel with my family of 4 (2 adults, kids ages 8 and 12). We had a room with four single beds. This is Japan so obviously we are not talking about a spacious room, but it was adequate for our needs (though we travel light compared to many people - just a cabin-sized luggage each). The bathroom was great, the beds comfortable, the temperature adequate, and of course you can't beat the location for easy access to transportation, shopping, and everything Shinjuku has to offer; there are three convenience stores within 30 seconds walking, too. Check-in was seamless and when we needed little things the staff was also able to help us. We'll be back!
