Great location for us passing through the midlands between shows. Very reasonable price and check in was friendly and quick with ample parking. One pillow missing and no toilet roll but both things sorted very quickly. Comfy beds, big TV. No drink making facilities

The Greenland's was a good hub for us. Good shower, well priced drinks, good pints of Guinness and Coors.
Was some minor cosmetic damage to the wall of bedroom but would definitely recommend to stay here.
Great Location, Great Showers, Great Staff and Great Pints.

The quad room served a purpose, but will never be staying here again and I recommend others stay unless you like to party till nearly 1 am, there is no respect for the people staying at this place.
Loud music playing till just after 12, the sound proofing doors were left open so you could hear the music perfectly not ideal when i had worked all day, driven 3 hours to get to the hotel...
No coffee and tea provided not even a kettle in the room, only 1 very thin pillow on each bed, not sure how anyone could sleep on a pillow that is only 2inches thick.
The bathroom well thats another story, toilet seat not bolted down so moved all the time, the wood on the fromt of the shower tray was pushed in, barley enough toilet roll to last 4 people 2 days.
We opened the window to let in some fresh air, and instantly had to close it as the window opens onto the bins for the entire place and it stunk.
All in all thr worse hotel i have stayed in i got more from a hotel that i payed 40 for the room for the night that was a 1/4 of the size of the quad room.

Pillows very thin
Not worth the money at all
Bed uncomfortable
Room dated, punch marks on the wall, no bin, no Tea/Coffee facilities in the room, not enough hangers.
Staff friendly enough shame about the state of the rooms won't be going back

I genuinely never stayed in a hotel like this.
Firstly when you walk in, the smell is overwhelming, this would explain why all Fire doors were open on a very cold night
The room itself was very basic and was absolutely freezing cold! The electric heater was off, and nobody has provided any instructions on how to turn it on. Luckily the chef was walking by and she kindly helped us...
The toilet was not flushed, there was wee in there still which was absolutely disgusting!!
Pillows = pancakes. They have definitely seen better days
The shower needs a deep clean as well, we avoided using it. No remote for the TV
At the point of check-in, we have asked about late checkout. The lady advised we should be ok to stay till 11:30ish as they are not busy the following day, however... 10:15 am someone was pulling on a handle and banging on the door. (not a gentle knock, not a polite excuse me, but a loud voice shouting that checkout was at 10 am!
My friend had to open the door and explain what was agreed for us the day before - absolutely bonkers!
The night before during the event we attended, whilst buying drinks we asked for one single and one double measure of the spirits we were buying. This is when the girl serving us was consulting a more senior staff member at the till and was told to put the single drink as a double. Luckily my friend overheard it and pointed it out. I wonder how many people overpaid for their drinks by that point.
£81 for this is ridiculous!

Very well set out.

Ok if you are having lots of drinks downstairs and need somewhere to sleep it off but as someone who had been travelling all day, listening to people partying and screaming outside until gone 1 am wasn’t ideal. My room had a very odd damp smell and the shower was in need of a thorough deep clean. On a positive note, staff were friendly and the beds were clean and comfortable despite the pillows being very thin and lumpy. Wouldn’t stay again.

Thank you for lettimg us stay

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was also good value for money and situated to where I was visiting. Thanks.

Cold no privacy,tacky

A good, clean budget hotel that provided a comfortable couple of night’s accommodation that is very conveniently located opposite the station.
There is no restaurant but we ate well locally about a 5 minutes walk away.
Would benefit from some hooks in the bathroom.

Hi! I was very satisfied at the property in every aspect.
Thank you.
3.8
Noisy crowd in smoking area immediately outside window until 1.15am. Tapping on window. Screaming drunk people right outside where we were trying to sleep.
3.8
No Wi-Fi password was provided even though you can access the hotel's Wi-Fi, but it was locked.
You can hear someone chatting outside of the door overnight.

I had a one night stay as a staging post on a business trip. Very friendly team. Do not expect luxury. Youll get a very clean room with an adequately comfortable bed. The place is a busy pub. They have bands on and functions. It suited my purposes as a place to kip after a couple of well priced beers in the bar while watching the rugby. All at a budget friendly price too.

Breakfast is extra poor stale quality and was 45 minutes late. Very hands off won’t stay there again.
3.8
The room and bathroom was functional and clean, and the beds comfortable.
The Expedia site stated that tea and coffee making facilities were present and breakfast was available. Neither was available.
3.8
A lot of noise during the night. The room smell funny. Not a good experience.
3.8
The bed was so soft and felt like you were going to roll off, with one flat soft pillow. The food was so bad we had a refund. The lady who checked us in was lovely so not her fault. It’s the worse place I’ve ever stayed in.
3.8
Free parking. Close to shopping and train station. Clean rooms and clean bathroom.
Could improve on kettle and complementary tea coffee and pillows are too flat.
3.8
Felt it was very welcoming and clean. Large outdoor parking with plenty of space. Not very clean looking from the outside so bad first impressions and a lot of noise from the car park (ie music/shouting) after midnight but can’t be helped sometimes so not too bad.
3.8
It was good, clean rooms but checking 10 oclock chicking out time was too early, we checked in late went out for a function came back early morning not enough time to rest, we expected them to allow us late checkout free of charge but was not possible.
3.8
I don’t like the smell in the room and people book room and paid in advance and I never seen if late check out then need to pay late charges that ridiculous.
3.8
Comfortable bed recommended everything about the places

Very small room, no wardrobe, nowhere to hang wet towels. The room was clean and tidy. Being above a busy bar though it was quite noisy sometimes until early morning. Staff did their best and were friendly but one can’t help noticing that they were very new to running a hotel. It suited our needs at the time but I probably wouldn’t stay here again to be honest..
3.8
Noicy. Even after 2am. Not enough setvice. Very rude customer service.
Breakfast expensive and not good enough.
3.8
No change of towels or bedding didn’t even see any staff on a morning
3.8
Staff were friendly, the rooms were a good size and were clean. Bed was comfortable. Rooms are quite basic (no hairdryer, no clothes hangers, no shelf or hooks in the bathroom). Location is very good for travelling into Birmingham and there are shops and places to eat within easy walking distance.
The tea/coffee tray costs £5 extra for the length of the stay and we were told it could be replenished with extra tea bags etc. if we asked. I asked for more tea bags and they gave me 4 from a "Value" box of 100 which had 79p written on it. I just think it wouldn't kill them to provide tea and coffee as something complimentary.
3.8
Good budget room with all the basics for a couple of nights. Across the road from the entrance to the station which goes directly into Birmingham City Centre, so very convenient. Although my room was overlooking the main road, the double glazing kept any traffic noise to a minimum. You may want to ask the way out when you check in if you are leaving early the next morning morning however (before 7am when none of the staff are around) as it's not immediately obvious.

A convenient stopover.

stayed three nights for a function. friendly staff. utilities all good

Rooms were spotlessly clean and looked newly refurbished. Staff were lovely and friendly. Hotel has free parking and is opposite train station. This hotel just didn't suit us as it was incredibly noisy on the Saturday evening we stayed - there was very loud music until late and people shouting and swearing in the beer garden centimetres away from our room window, fire alarms went off a few times - I would advise staying here if you are attending a function at the hotel or just looking for a cheap but clean bed to crash in after a late night out locally.
3.8
The rooms are right next to the function room. We had a flight to catch in the early hours so wanted to sleep from 10pm but there was a party in the function room with loud music until midnight. The room was also next to a fire exit so all the party guest come out door to smoke every 10 mins and then slam the door! When we were getting up at 2am there were other guest shouting in the hallway. We were getting up anyway but also really disrespectful for others in the hotel. I did speak to the staff but nothing they could do that would find us a quiet room. Layout of this hotel was terrible. I suppose fine if you are not wanting to sleep until early hours. The room itself was fine for the cost we paid but no matter what price you pay you expect to be able to sleep as this is normally the reason you rent a room for the night

Lovely, smiling likeable staff.
Horrible check in. Needed photo id and charge £20 to check in after 11pm. This should be stopped before it becomes the norm elsewhere.

The staff here are so lovely - you really couldn’t get nicer, smiling and friendly people!
The check in, however, after a long day, was horrendous. Expedia did not show up-front, in capitals as it should - check in after 11pm is charged at £20 (the lovely staff waived this for us at 11:45pm) and you need photo id as like dictator and communist states.

Really disappointed after reading all the good reviews! I will start with a positive, the staff were lovely!
The room we stayed in was absolutely freezing! We left the heater on all night and requested extra duvets but it was still baltic in the room, probably because being right next to the fire exit which was left wide open all night! With 2 children didnt feel safe at all.
The noise from people leaving from the function room via the fire exit was unbearable! Think we managed about 3 hours sleep between 4 of us, we had to get up early hours and just leave.
3.8
The room was clean, but very cold when we arrived and it took a long time to warm up as there was only a very small heater there. We ordered breakfast for the first morning and expected to go to another part of the building to eat, but were very surprised to get a knock on the door and have a full breakfast delivered. The problem was that we were not asked what we would like and one of us was a vegetarian so could only eat the beans. Except for the breakfast and the temperature of the room everything else was ok. The car park is very big. There is a large shopping centre very close by and also a train station which goes straight into Birmingham opposite. Would happily stay there again due to it's cleanliness and convenience.
